Just as a little side note - KB (the brown-haired one who sang be free) clarified that Yoojung wasn't supposed to be sad at the end of the be free mv; that's just how his face looks LMAO
libido was released 1.5 years ago and despite the whole album being very queer they still have that random "girl" in the lyrics as you noticed but this year their songs have been very gender-neutral and nine (one of the members) does a lot of covers where he also usually changes the lyrics to be gender-neutral ^^
onlyoneof show their support so casually and yet so clearly. as you said it's not like "look at this gay stuff!! pride!! rainbow flag!!" and instead they're just showing genuine love stories between men that are realistic and yet uplifting and comforting. it just feels so natural. and that's also how the group is in real life, very open and supportive. they openly support the community, have no problems talking about playing couples, are very involved in their music and choreo, have openly stated that being gay is okay and said that their group has a gender-neutral charm, two of the members (rie and yoojung) have traditionally female stage names and despite the homophobic hate they've gotten they never backed down or tried to hide the queerness of their music
they're really a special group and i'm glad more and more people are starting to see that
I honestly don’t mind the “girl” since the album isn’t entirely about being gay, it’s about the theory of instincts. (not to mention that bi men exist as well)

they are such a revelutionary group! in 4th gen, where basically all groups are filled with underaged members, onlnyoneof is made up of adults and they have so much more freedom to express those themes ab sexuality and more mature topics. the members themselves are so talented and really work so hard. they're bringing new themes into kpop with their songs that are unique and things other rookie groups wont even come close to.

They readjusted the phone booth scene but its supposed to show Kyubin/KB drunkenly stumbling on Yoojung and him taking
KB to his apartment since he was passing out. Him leaving the tiny origami helped him remember/realize who it was that took care of him hence why he goes back the next night and notices the origami on the desk and puts 2 and 2 together. They’d both been checking each other out, it’s possible KB was making a move on Yoojung while drunk and drank too much and it didn’t go as planned.
A lot of people theorize that the solo MVs are prequels to libidO, showing how the couples and group of friends seen there got together. They're releasing a solo a month, so you could do the next 3 together once they've come out. Of course, as the libidO mv and its' "sequel" Skinz also follow the same couples, you could also react to those before, after or together with the next 3 solos.
As you were asking for OOO suggestions, I could add Suit Dance or the dance practices for Gaslighting and dOra Maar, both of which are about toxic relationships. But all of the above are just suggestions, feel free to ignore them. 🙂
what's even better is that onlyoneof has a heavy hand in their music production and choreography :D which means that libido's choreo, be free's lyrics + composition, etc... come from the members themselves (with some outside help too ofc)!
i honestly really love how artistic they are and how their music and performances reflect the deep messages that they explored. 'dora maar', for example, is an older song that talks about picasso's 5th lover and muse, as well as the nature of their abusive relationship. super interesting stuff! and the song itself is a personal fave of mine too :)
but yeah, as a queer person, it's awesome to see some actual non-queerbait rep in kpop! it's quite sad korea is still a homophobic enough country that it's basically impossible for kpop idols to openly come out as part of the lgbt+ community without getting hate though

And yes, OnlyOneOf performed libidO on Korean music stages, thank you very much! On Music Bank (Friday nights), Nine moved his hand ever so slightly so it wasn't smack on center, but on Inkigayo (on SBS, the largest station in Seoul), smack on center, thank you, Nine, no censor. I'm sure the censors have since warned their agency "none of this again" because Nine kissed Love once on an ending fairy and they were banned for ending fairies for a few days during a promotion a couple of years ago. So OnlyOneOf have fun with it, not a normal idol group.
Just to give some further clarification on the project & onlyoneof's work as a whole- each member is having a solo and rie's will be coming soon to continue the story of junji's be mine as they seem to be telling the stories through each release. All the releases are connected and are happening in the same universe (yoojung and kb from the first videos were in be mine- yoojung as the cashier as he was fired from his last place (apparently for dancing LMAO) and kb is sitting with junji before he runs after rie. This insuates a happy ending for them which I understand isn't completely clear from the end of the be free. Kyubin later clarified it is a happy ending, yoojung just has a resting sad face- he's thinking in the mv, not sad. He's unsure of if Kyubin is truly ready (as yoojung's solo is about kb's character and his struggle to accept himself- 'when your mind is free from any prejudice (freedom will begin) and we can begin', he's singing to kb) but Kyubin falling onto the bed at the end is him accepting the way he feels hence the lyrics being about him becoming free
It's also good to react on their behind the scenes of every mv. You will see how they interact and how comfortable they are with each other.
Btw, Ries solo is coming out soon! The teaser is already out, hope you still plan on reacting to it, this reaction was amazing:)
I just love how ooo actually give queer characters a good story. It's not just a hint, they're fully going for it, with arcs, 'drama', plot twists, all that stuff. I genuinely love them so much:(

Yay I loved the reaction! Just so you know none of OOO have stated their sexuality and if a kpop idol was queer it would be essentially impossible for them to be out and achieve mainstream popularity. The only out idol I know of is Holland and he’s not in the mainstream kpop industry (ie he doesn’t perform on the music shows, he’s not signed to a major label, etc). It’s only now becoming accepted for even straight idols to openly date or get married so I think, unfortunately, it will be quite some time before we start seeing idols come out.
Some ex-idols have said there’s pretty much a “don’t ask don’t tell” policy in the industry so we really can’t assume any of the members’ sexualities either way.
I think it's about accepting relationaships and how Out can you be in their society, so Be Mine feels like a longer realtionship, but one wants to keep it quiet & the other wants to be Open & pushing for affection in Public as much as they do everything in private. Begin/be Free feels like Dark hair is relatively Out/open or at least comfortable with thier own sexuality, but Blon is just at the Beginning of exploring it, soI think the sadness at the end is just the confusion when you get the relationship you want, but not sure you free to be open about it/ blonds not ready to come out yeat
I originally discovered onlyoneof from libido and it was so nice and so special for me to see queer rep in kpop. These mvs and the messages they’ve put behind them have helped me and countless other queer fans and will continue to help countless more in the future. Im so happy that they’ve decided on this concept and continue to stick with it no matter what backlash they face

OnlyOneOf is a very talented and hilarious group on and behind the screen so I hope you guys try the behind videos or their other songs/dance covers as they're great. I love what they're doing and how open they are, they're committed to their storyline and their message and they execute it perfectly, each member plays a part in the production so everything is made with care. I'm so glad they're getting more recognition. ^-^ Your reactions were so fun.
It's interesting that you mentioned lgbtqia+ stories kinda being a genre where one of the rules is that they don't get the happy ending - this of course depends on countries, but one of the reasons for this in western (particularly USA) might be the Hays code. Perhaps you know about it already, but it was a censorship code that dictated what could be shown or how it could be portrayed. And so for a long time lgbtqia+ people and relationships could be part of the story only if it ended badly - basically so that the story didn't "promote" the lifestyle, so the characters were either cheap comic relief, victims or villains. And many other countries had something similar going on with film, tv and literature industries. In literature, it was a bit easier to include lgbtqia+ characters but if I remember correctly, bad ending was still very much present. Seems interestingly similar to China's current censorship code too, for example.
If you want lgbtqia+ Christmas moving, let me recommend "Make Yuletide Gay" 😄
There's nowadays quite a lot of happy stories as well, but yeah the tragedy of lgbtqia+ stories seems to hang heavy over them. Tho just look at Thailand and Japan for example, in the past ten years or so there's been so many cute, happy slice of life tv series & movies made, it's interesting how new those kinda lgbtqia+ stories are still in many western countries to contrast. (I'm from a country that is one of the safest places on earth for lgbtqia+ people, but we have next to no stories in media, sad or happy...I just find that interesting.)
OnlyOneOf is indeed currently 6 member group, but originally they had 7 members (as seen in libidO). Love, their leader, left last year due to personal reasons - we know nothing more of why he left. Also if you wanna continue diving into OOO, then "gaslighting" dance video as well as Skinz MV. And when it comes to OOO themselves, I do believe none of them have specified their sexualities - there are not that many idols who have to my knowledge.
The pairings we see in the solo MV's are the same as in libidO and Skinz official MV's, two couples (Yoojung & KB, Junji & Rie) and originally there was either a love triangle or polyamorous triad with Mill, Nine and Love, but yeah since Love left it's just Mill and Nine now (they are presumably gonna be the last two members with solos as next should be Junji's partner Rie).

They have said many times that their concept is more queer oriented because they want their fans to feel included and they show queer representation through their art even if they aren’t queer themselves (which we don’t know of but honestly it’s not our business lol) I love them so much and they have helped many queer fans including myself by normalizing these relationships in music :)

libidO's MV is actually about the stigma about s*x related topics. like how it was frowned upon and even treated as something "bad". the song tells that its actually just normal. I actually love this song, as someone from a country that even sex education was treated as taboo, this one also serves as a wake up call.

Please tell me you're reacting to the rest of the solo releases of OnlyOneOf cuz i LOVED seeing you guys get to know OnlyOneOf! They are really the best most genuine when it comes to portraying authentic queer stories and music that really speaks to my sould. As a queer person myself i have found their music very relatatble and comforting and just a blast to hear. They are talended musicians too so pleaseee check out the rest of their music as well!!! I woudl suggest tear Of gOd and designer to begin with!

anyway, be mine is like travel into memory lane kind of story line. The first part shows how they first interacted. and jump to their cohabiting period as lovers. they're happy but it was like one of them wants to share and show their love to the world(Junji~> the one who's like leading) but Rie(the guy with shorter hair) seems to be hiding their relationship.(which symbolize how Rie was locked inside the box aka phonebooth while Junji is outside.)

Yoojung looks sad become he worry about their relationship~there is something look like the second story of Junji and Rie
In my opinion,Rie is scared of being public about their relationship(Yoojung is scared of start he and KB's relationship) although they love each other.All their happy scenes are just them in private.
In the last scene they're surrounded by people and Rie looks very stiff and uncomfortable, but Junji looks a lot more relaxed.
About the phone booth, yoojung said it is symbolises a worldview but didnt explain more.It might mean feeling a safe zone can hiding from the world,and with that thought looking at the scene, when Junji knocks, Rie almost looks sheepish look like he got caught falling into bad habits or something. so it might be that Rie is trying to be more open but having a hard time with it.But in the last scene Junji want to kiss Rie and Rie agree with it.

In my country it's illegal for two men to be in a romantic relationship but it's fine if it's two women and this is an actual law. My fellow countrymen are extremely homophobic, we're still at the point where your life would be in danger of you came out to the wrong person and I always knew that there was more acceptance towards gay women but to see that they are actually protected by the law while the men are not just left me speechless. I'm not saying it's okay to be homophobic but at least be fair in your prejudice...

This was a delightful convo you guys had, and OnlyOneOf is such a fascinating and groundbreaking group. It's truly wild what they get away with, but also that given their talent level and visuals they could be way bigger if they went with a more hetero-friendly image yet they choose to just be gay as hell anyways. I've seen a lot of accusations of queer-baiting, but ultimately the members are probably never gonna be fully open about their sexuality bc they need plausible deniability (i.e. being able to fall back on "it's just a performance" when needed) in order to have a career in a country with few (if any) legal protections for queer people, and also no one owes anyone a detailed explanation of their sexuality anyways. I also recently dipped my toes into kpop, starting w/ TXT and then I think OOO was actually my 2nd, and currently I've got Stray Kids brain rot real bad. Apparently I like the groups that are more than a little different lol.
Now that all 6 of these solo songs/videos are out, I'd love a part 2! The last 2 ones w/ Mill and Nine are super cute, and the songs are great bops.

Also Seventeen is my ult K-pop groups and I would absolutely combust if you guys ever reacted to them. Their songs are so sweet... (Mostly non title tracks) literally if peace, love, warmth and comfort where songs instead of feelings. No pressure or anything but if you're interested I would happily give some recommendations.
