3:16 if my calculations have been correct i prob have 330+ hours in customs looking for new techs / practicing rollouts etc... usually before playing rank i practice rollouts for 5 - 10 minutes in ow1 everyday

@@KillerJeff-fi3on2 different playstyles, zbra is the better ladder player who punchbots more whereas quake was an aggressive rollout style doom, ofc quake is gonna feed more, but it is how he has fun, if he played the same way as zbra they would be a lot closer to you
I’d argue that this new doomfist has a role that is very similar to ball. His tools are designed to get him onto the battlefield and into the enemy back line quickly, where his job then becomes to separate and disrupt rather than kill per se. the new way his punch works allows him to push multiple enemies out of position to make it easier for his team to take out, and his slam is just like ball’s slam in that it does a good amount of damage that’s perfect for either softening up targets for the DPS to them take out, or for finishing off low health targets. And then just like balls adaptive shields, his block allows him to escape unscathed. As Jay3 says in this video, the charged punch lets you go very far
I agree, I think that the new doom’s role has changed completely. He can definitely be caught out of position and killed because of it, but I think usage of his abilities will change drastically, especially with his ult.
Slam was reduced from ~125 to 50... that is not a good amount. Especially considering there is no uppercut to follow up anymore and his rocket punch does 30 --- The exact same as the quick melee of every hero. He looks flashy with the new movement but he does nothing most of the time and as soon as people let go of the fear they have for dps Doom he will be a joke. Same thing happened with Rein in the experimental patch. At first people still respected Rein so his higher health kept him alive and the *fear* let him control space. The moment people realised he was swinging a wet noodle they walked all over him.
@@SasquatchPJs Watch ZBRA. He's adapted to tank doom much quicker than Quaked imo, who is still trying to copium force rollout dps playstyle with him when it's just never going to work. Watching this game back, it was all flash, he never really did anything. In the first 2 minutes he did a meaningless rollout, minimal chip damage, then dived their spawn and died.
You NEED your charged punch to have any kill threat as doom, which means your first job is blocking and not dying until you get an opportunity to go in. Then you can slam into the backline, and charge punch the healers into a wall. The stun is insanely long which allows you to perfectly follow up with 4 primary shots which is pretty much a guaranteed kill.

@@Djitterbug I think you're strongly underestimating the disruption though. You're defining "did anything" as "get kills", when really there's so much more that affects how a team is doing, it's just that a lot of it isn't obvious. Although, you can definitely notice this sort of play when it happens to you. Tank Doom is like a Tracer in the backline with how distracting he is. If you've ever played against a good Tracer, or other elusive heroes like Sombra, you'll know what it's like to never be given a second to rest and regroup. You're always being pestered and can't do your job properly. That's really valuable and something Doom brings, but it's hard to recognise benefits like that vs more obvious things like kills.
Tons of mobility but not a lot of damage it seems like. Feels like they made a dive character without any ability to finish off the person you dive on
Yeah he struggles to kill, but for sure causes a lot of distraction, which is part of the tank's job so at least there's that.
My only issue is that Doomfist, the fist guy, with a giant metallic arm, does 30 damage with a charged punch, when literally every hero in the game does 30 damage with their melee attack. Feels like a small damage buff would be fine here.

@@basu8554 Maybe if his charged fist did as much as Orisa's javelin throw so there was more of a threat to shooting at his shield.

@@basu8554 Yeah I know he's a tank now and works a lot better as one, but seeing his charge punch do so little damage is sad. It shouldn't be as powerful as it used to be, but I agree that a small buff would help

Too bad doomfist isn't a DPS anymore, he's a tank... Also montages are SUPPOSE to make the person who's playing the hero look good -_-
@@Jay3 True, but even watching full on games and vods you can see plenty techs and engages that are absolutely ridiculous for a first person shooter, even more than Tankfist in my opinion because of aerial slam and diagonal turn punches. Yes, Tankfist has the same punch physics as before, but are not needed since slam now does the job much simpler.

I get that Doomfist is a tank now, so he has lost a lot of damage, but he seems like he isn't really doing much other than just running around being a distraction, he is using his 2 damaging abilities to just run away half the time.

sooo my guise is that quaked was tryna distract the entire team to face him which he did and so his team can get picks off of just one distraction that little rollout actually was huge for the team to come in and take the point in a matter of seconds

I played doom for the past whole beta and I can tell you that his ult is the only thing that gets him kills his punch does have a lot of knockback I did punch a lot of people off the map that’s the only thing that stands out for him and people are starting to recognize to not shoot his power block so that’s awful another thing I might add is before on ow1 when he slams the longer he’s in that form the more dmg he does well that’s not it anymore he does the same dmg so I don’t think rooftops are needed anymore
his damage is still pretty strong. if you’re landing your shots his shotgun still does good damage and reloads much more quickly. squishy targets are pretty easy to pick off mid-late fight.
His fist pellets are where most of his damage comes from. They are very strong

In what way like srsly, the shield ball gets is gigantic, there is no trap, stun, shieldbash or hack to stop him, his dmg is consistent as hell, his ult is REALLY useful and good. What do you mean "a lot better" xD

For the amount of movement and utility his kit brings, ontop of it being able to deal significant amount of damage i feel like they need to cool down his CDs. like his right click is on a 3 second cd as soon as you let go and start flying. He just cycles abilities gets shield and ccs like crazy
3 sec CD and up to 30 damage if you fully charge it. Zen's kick does an instant 45 with about the same knockback.
He needs those cooldowns to be balanced at all. Doom doesn't really do much damage, and his abilities are the only way for him to do damage. Also, I'm pretty sure his cooldowns are faster while he's airborne so it's also skill based how fast this guy can get cds.

He’s playing a tank. Notice the other team constantly had to dedicate 2-3 people to targeting him for pretty much the whole game. He plays more like Winston now than he did as a damage character.
doom lacks a ton of damage. your goal as tank doomfist is to distract the enemy team, force enemy CDs and push them into bad positions. which is what i was doing exactly in this gameplay. you do not get kills with tank doomfist.

He's dive tank. He's not supposed to be with the team. That's the kind of complaint people who think the tank's job is shieldbotting or pROTeCTing THe tEam. It's already not really true in OW1, let alone 2.
@@forcebrand4678 Well it isn't as much of an issue when there are 2 tanks in play. If one of your tanks locked in ball, then the other would most likely lock in something more traditional to protect the backline. When there is only one tank, the backline solo dive tanks are going to be either selfish picks OR the game devolves into a deathmatch/skirmish mode (which is what it has been since the launch of the beta).
