Great opening. With the theme of my channel "Reclaim Repair Reuse Recycle" I appreciate the repurposing of this desk. Most of my shop is reuse of lateral file cabinets on recycled bed frames connected to wheels from recycled broken dolly wheels, a desk customized with pallet wood for my carburetor work station, a welding cart made from
a discarded power washer & so on. Once in awhile I have to buy parts LOL.
    .👍 200
    Stay safe, Joe Z

Thank you Joe! I’m with you! Eventually I’m going to turn an old filing cabinet into a welding cart here, and I have an old dresser from my brother that will make for a perfect rolling tool chest once it has some new drawers (kind of like what you’ve done). It’s often super tempting to just go buy stuff to save time, and I’ll admit I’m doing more and more of that lately, but it’s always rewarding when you can avoid that. Take care and stay safe as well!

@@AndrewReuter I know what you mean. Sometimes that shinny new box is hard to pass up LOL But like you said I also find it rewarding to reclaim something that is going to the landfill & customize it to your own needs

How's it holding up? I need to do this for my bathroom vanity. It wasn't originally held together. It breaks every time I'm put things in it. ALLL of the drawers! I'm not even stuffing it. Anyways I'll try this.

Hi. Great video and edits! Question: How can I make a deeper drawer out of two drawers? Here is what I mean so one of the top drawers face came off and as I looked inside I had a thought to may remove the bottom of the one on top and some how attach the front to the other drawer under it so that from outside it looks like two drawers but when you pull is one deep drawer. Thanks in advance

  • @biondatiziana

What wood did you use for drawer bottom itself? I need to replace a drawer bottom in an antique dresser. The original bottom is too warped to reuse.

On the back of the draw we’re the dovetails are I would cut down on both sides of the back till I get to the runner for the bottom ware I would have made room by removing the back piece so the bottom would slide in and pin or screw it place and you are using the draw completely without anything else put in place okay.
