The Danish Prince himself, MaxPax, gives us insight into the mind of the deadliest Protoss player in the world of StarCraft 2. Is he actually AI? Or just crazy good? Here's two games, one against Reynor's Zerg and the other against Clem's Terran.

Out of all of the Pro POV's you've shown this might be the only one that hasn't given me a small brain bleed trying to pay attention to what he's doing.
yah, he doesn't constantly switching views like others did, lots of them tab 2,3,4, in 1sec.
StarCraft pro players are just in other lvl then rest of eSport pro players. Its crazy the speed of AMP , the brain work ,decision making process.. If you watch FPS games, or Mortal Combat, Dota/LOL/HOTS the gameplay its more simple. The marine splits of pro terrans or Jaedong muta harass is just out of mind . THX for video
My impression is that very fast players concentrate on paring down the amount of time and attention that they dedicate to each multi-pronged attack to the barest minimum possible and let the unit AI handle the rest, which means that those attacks are a bit less effective than an attack which is micro-ed, but their multi-pronged nature can put some stress and pressure onto the opponent which is a good trade-off from more of a psychology standpoint.
Florencio annoys opponents with unit choices and assorted cheese, these players annoy opponents by forcing them to split their attention and disrupting their own plans.

@@auag6284 I like hotkey 3 cause building probes is set to E. So the transition is just naturally smooth.

@anaskun3645 Any hotkey that cause extraneous effort and movement, in my opinion, is an inefficient setup and may affect your performance.

Really enjoyed this cast, would love to see more PiG!, he's so fast it's hard to keep up some times. Regarding the sound I didn't find the sound to be too much in the second match, but maybe a tiny bit distracting at times because I would try to make out what he was saying, but not really make out what he said because of sound levels/you would summarize it either way. In the end it didn't make a huge difference. Really enjoyed the content/cast as usual!

SC2 in game interface seriously needs some minor upgrade to show more infos.
Players should have caster UI, like showing upgrade completing countdown, workers count, workers kills, units kills etc.

When you talk about habits that stick. In my young day I started out with playing Quake 1. The default on Quake 1 with mouse was invert mouse. I never shook this and have played my entire lanparty and clanbase career in Unreal Tournament and Unreal Tournament 2004 with invert mouse. Mouse acceleration started with windows xp and yes it was and still is horrible.

There's programs that let you customize the mouse acceleration curve. Might be useful for him.
i've never had mouse acceleration on so idk what it is supposed to do

@PiG MaxPax is extraordinary, however, I am not sure if I would say "best protoss" or anything in that direction. He is the best in harassment, top-tier in control/micro, and astonishing in reactionary play, like game reading w.r.t. how & when to attack and especially end a game. However, I think in defense and especially macro as well as overall solid gameplay no one is better than Showtime (I don't mean solid in terms of Showtime never makes mistakes, obviously that is not true, I mean that in terms of like his favorite player Rain, he is the best when it comes to solid Protoss gameplay).

Maxpax is super fast in terms of multi tasking, but I swear just on pure vomit-inducing crazy fast camera movement nobody beats Mana.

Wait really, i thought grid was the norm, i use it myself. What does pig recommend?
@Hosenbivad most pros use a variation of the Core made way back by in the day by a guy named Jakatak. Grid tends to be easier to learn but isn't as efficient as others.
When I watch serial, maxpax and hero play fppov it’s a different level. Not sure about dark.
What’s mouse acceleration? Why do you hate it?
A simple explanation is that if you move your mouse from one side of the desk to the other quickly, your cursor will go further than if you moved the mouse slowly. The speed you move the mouse helps dictate the cursor distance.
It's considered bad because this creates inconsistency with your aiming and cursor placement. With no acceleration, your cursor always lands in the same place on screen, regardless of speed. This is a really good thing when you're playing at the top level of games.

Only the ones that do "youtube challenges". There are some that don't find the point at all to play against weaker opponents, like MaxPax or Serral.
So windows mouse accel is awful, but some fps players are trying to use mouse accel. This is because windows mouse accel is really unpredictable, and all fps players who use mouse accel are using a 3rd program. If youd like more info optimum had a video on the subject

Obviously I don't think he is AI. But I have met one individual who plays computer games, watches youtube videos, has accounts on social media, communicates on every level like a normal human being, even able to use calls (but without speaking). Presented as a 26 years woman she replies very long messages to my messages in 0,5 seconds. Normal human would write it for at least 20 seconds. And overall acting extremely weird, being very politically correct, perfect punctuation or however it's spelled, perfect english. All of it is possible of course. But writing 50 words in 0,5 second is not. There is some super advanced AI unleashed on the internet.

For mouse acceleration I am totally with him. I Play with mouse acceleration could not turn it down and I play straight on my desktop no mouse pad. I tried but it makes controls so slow

its 100% worse, its terrible in fps games, it essentially means your mouse doesnt run on a linear curve, which means all your movements are all some form of a exponential curve for speed which means every action your rapid mouse flicks will cause complete inconsistency in distance traveled
almost NO ONE in cs plays with it at pro level and the ones who do are legit what mr Pig said, fools who will not take the time to learn the proper way and are comfortable with a sub optimal setup.
Any professional coach in a physical sport would never let you play with sub optimal form, they will retrain you even if you are already good with bad form. Technique always gets results.
Yes I'm sure the professional gamer had no idea that fps is important. I really don't believe you telling him about this was anything new.

The Title is right: MaxPax is the best Protoss, currently. her0? Nah. I had expectation when he came back from military but it shows that he's all was just, overhyped and overrated.
mouse acceleration is the absolute fucking dumbest setting ever. I don't know why it ever existed, I don't know what scenario it has a supreme purpose. It's flat out fucking stupid. Learning to play with it sounds like a complete nightmare having the mouse do whatever it wants instead of something 1:1 to your movement. There's no argument for it but I'm open to hearing.

EDIT: It seems that's Max's voice in the 2nd game, which definitely sounds masculine... so I guess I'm wrong! Hmmm, now I'm even more curious about the secretive nature...
It's probably something simple. Like has high anxiety when in rooms with large amounts of people. Or has anxiety when he is the focus of attention. Kinda defeats the purpose of going to a LAN if you know you can't perform your best due to the stress.
