I can't imagine how many people have bettered their editing skills thanks to Fin's channel. So easy to follow and I'm now twice the editor I was last year - Keep it up bro!
Actually didn’t know about the preset thing. I’ve just always kept one premiere project which a bunch of random things I use a lot and copy them onto my current project. I would suck at editing if it wasn’t for you fin thank you!!
For the pop-in section make sure you have your anchor point centered so the scaling doesn't move the text box. Took me a sec to figure out why mine looked so different. Then again setting a different anchor point might give you the effect you want.
@@BennyHamMusic so there is an anchor point on the text object that basically defines the center point. If you are like me you may accidentaly move the center point left or rigtht... so the popin will look wrong beacuse the animation is starting in the wrong point. It looks ike a blue circle if i recall
My anchor point is in the middle but the problem with this weird looking pop up effect whenever I move my text still occurs :( Does anyone have tips what I can try?
Im actually crying right now because of how helpful this was bro! you saved me a whole session of copying and pasting and changing text WITH THE POWER OF GAWD DAMN PRESETS!😭
If anybody is wondering how finzar made this 3d view... 0:54 you just need to drag and drop something called "3d Basic" then you can probably mess with the settings.
DUUUUUUUDE! I have recently bagged myself a content creator job with team Gary Vee & I can totally relate to the workload when it comes to animating subtitles and emojis! The amount of editing and fidgety little comedy-timed cuts in this single video alone is literally mind-boggling & what’s best is - 95% of the viewers just simply would not even understand or comprehend! 😂🕺 Hats off to you fin, you wizard! 🪄 Killian 🇮🇪
I'm not even a min in and I can already tell you are the most entertaining tutorialist (if that is a word) I have come across. And MAN have I seen A LOT of Adobe tutorials,
Hey there, for anyone who finds this comment you can export captions to an SRT file then convert that to a XML sequence using online converters and then drag that into your project, there is also a setting for dragging nested sequences onto your timeline as the components its made so you can actually tell where the text objects are instead of just seeing a big green blob, then obvious just drag your presets onto the text components, it's annoying that we need to use this work around at all but its at least very easy and quick, I'm sure there are plugins out there but just remember for stay safe when downloading stuff from sources you don't know or trust! Absolutely love the videos finzar, haven't been a longterm subscriber but I've been seeing your videos pop up for years and it's amazingly helpful now that I'm getting into doing my own projects and trying to use more software and just learn from your videos and tutorials!
it's another good alternative methods to ease time in editing, but I'd stick with your old drag while holding alt method, already comfortable with that. the pops in scale of mine is 100 (3 frame) 120 (3 frame) 100 ratio
Actually, at 6:10 the auto-captioning feature can save you tons of time because you can copy all of the captions to the sequence/timeline so that you can edit it to most gaming video standards. using the auto-captioning feature allows you to have already properly spaced captions, and you don't need to type all the captions yourself.
If anybody's pop ups don't come out from the middle like his does you will have to move the blue sphere you see at 2:14. pressing crtl helps align it inside the text box.
BROOO you just saved me like 40 hours of work!!! I learned how to do subtitles through your last video, that was right at the start of my editing phase, and now I found this one?? I cannot thank you enough :)))) My last project had like 4000+ titles, some of the customly animated, it was sooo annoying, but so much better and absolutely worth it in the end... I need to look into presets more often, my god lmao Please never stop uploading your great content! Btw, if you have any editing advice for me it would be greatly appreciated :D
The way you edit your videos is really inspiring, even the little transitions that you do are so good, thank you for making this video and thank you for those amazing presets
Two recommendations for this workflow. Number one is to use the "Essential Graphics" window for editing your text settings, and then save any variations as a new style. These will save into your project folder and then you can just drag them onto whichever text layer you want changed. Secondly, you can turn the captions from Adobe's auto-caption feature into text layers to mess around with however you like by using online converters to convert the caption file over to one of the caption files that Adobe accepts as being able to import as text layers.
Finding you on youtube has been the greatest !! I’m a new RUclipsr and about three weeks ago I got Premier Pro , been doing my tutorials , then I was like. Ya know what ?!? lmao i was literally thinking today at work that i needed to experiment with subtitle keyframing.....this video was a godsend lol. Another banger video!
I think the auto caption and transcribe are pretty good for other content, maybe for another audience (the best example is a series or movie). This subtitle editing is definitely at the next level, haha!
you can actually turn the captions into a graphic by right clicking on the captions in the panel, going to the "CAPTIONS AND GRAPHICS" tab at the top of the window, and clicking "Upgrade to Graphic" and then BOOM, free subtitle graphics!
hey fin! been watching for a while and love these vids. only question i have is what is the best way to scale the text properly? (like use the slider or use the numbers in the text section)

I'm using the new Premiere Pro subtitling feature or any other app... create a track with subs, add a green screen layer, cut the green screen layer at the same pace with the subs track and add the pop effects plus an ultra key to erase the green screen. That way I don't even need to write all the subtitles.
So usually when it comes to editing I know what I'm doing but today after many attempts at using the new caption tool (It can't understand me for some reason) I decided to just watch this video and honestly its simpler than I thought.
