Big love! Sick video, the volume section made me proper chuckle 😂 “I can’t believe I’m about to do this” followed by applause. Class - and thank you for the kind words ♥️
I watch these videos to learn about the art of storytelling through video, not just to learn how to clip stuff up, but to mold my mind to be a great storyteller in all mediums. I hope you know that we don't just see your videos as editing tutorials, but as life changing guidance through the art of communication. We really appreciate you Fin!
I hadn’t even found out that you could change the volume of clips in premiere for the loooongest time, and it is genuinely so important to get good at audio design 👀👂
Wait what I didn’t know that you could change the DB on all the audio clips at the same time, I have always just changed them individually… lmao this is gonna save me so much time hehhehehehehe
I have a hard limiter on all the layers then do input boost so my projects always hover around 0db. It removes a lot of the extreme range differences. If everything is loud- everything is pretty chill
The cutting out dead space really helped me, my most recent video i followed these tips and people actually stayed to watch longer than usual, and its the best performing long form video on my channel, thank you finzar🙏🙏
7:53 for me it's you and there's one more you tuber, you are kinda like my inspiration for me , i used the word 'kinda' because I think , i think.... you are way above in this editing thing , I'm not even close to you in the slightest but i try my best to edit like you but just not yet someday soon i will be there. Thank you & keep on editing so that you could inspire more & more .
thankyou finzar my common mistake was making sound effect louds and i search all over youtube but not solution to that but suddenly i remember you and i know it you had the solution thankyou so much
My biggest take from this video is that i'm not the only youtuber with a "working day schedule" Whiteboard in my room😆 Solid 9/10 video here Fin, the only improvement would be MORE LOUD = FUNNY MOMENTS
Thank you fin for making videos about editing as they not only teach about editing but also adds up the humour (loved the salesmen fin scene :) I hope your channel grows worth to the hardwork you put in 🔥
Man, slapping G on the keyboard has saved me a lot of times; sometimes I get lazy with the editing and leave the volume on a high level, and I wonder why the audience retention is so low lmao
lol I am a Lets Player, actually new on RUclips but I'm trying to be different from other let's players like theradbrad, hollow, chris smoove just by adding sound effects, lots of them, memes n stuff, texts and its all thanks to you Fin, thanks for teaching us how to be a better editor lol, and thank you for the audio tecniques in this video, I'll def apply this to my next video :)
Bro thanks so much this is just what I needed to know. I’ve been trying to find out forever how to limit audio and I’ve legit been going through each audio clip and tediously lowering the volume
I love watching these videos, really gets me wanting to create. But for the longest time I've just been so burnt out from it all, it's hard for me to even play games anymore. And over the last few months I've developed really bad anxiety so the thought of putting myself out there is just terrifying :(
It’s a tough one to get used to. But everyone starts somewhere on this journey into the internet. Don’t be too afraid, you never know what will happen. And I’m 99.9% sure it’ll only be good for you :)
I know this video is months old but thank you for sharing! I'm currently doing the DaVinci Resolve lessons, but they're kind of dry and boring. I love how you can get a point across that I can remember yet enjoy learning
Mate, I just found your channel a few days ago and have binged more than I’d like to admit. Fucking well done! Kudos to you for your original style and for not pandering to the masses, being self aware enough to know what cuts you apart from many in your niche. ❤
i already found out half these points on my own but hearing you reiterate it to me somehow helped 😀 thank you Fin for helping me make better vidyas. also thank u for the presets cause im a lazy barnacle head
Alright, you've won my subscription, sir. This is the first video I've seen of yours and I like all the points you make, and I LOVE the high energy here. The lickd advert? CHEFS KISS, BABAYYY
My guy you're amazing as well as your content. You're helping me a lot to upgrade my editing skills. Not using premiere tho but I'll get there with DaVinci too.
I just bought your pack, and honestly man, when I found you a few months ago, I was so inspired by the quality of your videos, so I decided to make my own gaming videos on youtube. You are so right about the Dead Space, I could've simply cut my video to remove all of it and it would have been a ton better. But now that I know, I'll try doing it. You're the dude who helped start it all, so thank you man, appreciate it a lot. NOW GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE.
Fin believe it or not but you've been a big reason for my channel's early success - thank you. I'm looking for a new microphone which I can keep out of the frame in my vids... any suggestions?
just want to remind you that salesman fin is the best part of every video and i think he needs abit more of a background story. when you was shaking hands i actually restarted the video because i laughed so hard
Quick question: why not put the hard limiter on the master channel instead of dragging it onto all tracks individually? (not an audio expert, but it just seems a lot easier while achieving similar results)
Its better to put it on the master chennel because let's say that you put a limiter on an individual channel of one sound which peaks at -1db, and let's say that you put another limiter on another sound which plays at exact time as the previous sound and peaks at -1db too, these 2 sounds if combined together they will go above 0db and clip the master channel.
@@finzar thats just how compression works, hard limiter is basically when sound goes over 0db it ducks down so it doesnt clip which gives better sound quality. to prevent the ducking while having the limiter on the master channel you can use a soft limiter which masks the ducking really well aswell as it makes your video sound a little bit louder
Every time I watch your videos, I just want to quit whatever I'm dong and smash my premiere pro. You're so inspiring! My channel grew a lot since I started following your tips. Thank you so much!
Dude… your videos are getting me excited about editing 😂 outstanding advice and tutorials! What a godsend to find you as I’m about to purchase Adobe premiere
Good shtuff man. I never knew about that hard limiter bit and it's really gonna help me a lot since my mic is crap. Also thanks for saying some things that we've all been thinking 😅
This video is like the old fin but BETTER!!!! note :- lol i don't mean in anyways they are great. I mean this video has a vibe of old videos for some reason but better!!
I really liked how you keep yourself still visible on the recorded video of your desktop showing how to do things… I will definitely apply this in my “funny” gaming collages.. thanks… one another question: how can I find all the standard sound effects and memes that I can use in my videos? Is there a place that I can download from? Thanks for letting me know! cheers :)
Hey Fin, how are you? It's been a long time since I reached out to you.. I am glad that your channel is doing so well. 😊 Keep up the good work and most importantly stay safe and sound.
Everytime you make a video you remind me of me bro,. Haha.. Thank you though I have learned something from your video,. Now I will apply in my videos in TikTok and RUclips,. Haha
Big love! Sick video, the volume section made me proper chuckle 😂 “I can’t believe I’m about to do this” followed by applause. Class - and thank you for the kind words ♥️
I watched your recent video. It was awesome!
I was literally gonna search your name.. now. I don’t 😂
I watch these videos to learn about the art of storytelling through video, not just to learn how to clip stuff up, but to mold my mind to be a great storyteller in all mediums. Masterful advice from the king himself 😌🙏🏼
Took a chill day away from actual editing to learn some. The first 3 minutes of this video was the most valuable time I’ve spent today.
Finzar is my video editing teacher
Going to be big one day, your content is a blessing

Just bought your preset pack, you helped me get started with editing when I first started. Thank you Fin :)
Thank you so much! Your videos REALLY helped my videos
It infuriates me when 99% of a creators focus seems to be on visuals over audio, great advice!

Quick question: why not put the hard limiter on the master channel instead of dragging it onto all tracks individually?
(not an audio expert, but it just seems a lot easier while achieving similar results)

But in his case he puts the ceiling to -3db so his master probably doesn't clip, that's fine too

2:34 or just add the hard limiter to the master channel, the master channel affects all audio in the sequence!
