I think the taunting calls are worse, at least the roughing the passer calls are to protect players safety (which ultimately does make the games better not having a bunch of injured franchise QB's). But the taunting calls are just making the league soft, it's a competitive game that gets emotional. Sterilizing it takes away from the game

Nope. The rule is there for a reason. Both to protect the quarterback but also the game. If these quarterbacks were out more because they were getting hit, the quality of football would be wayyyy worse.

Bodyweight on the QB needs to be reversed, at the very least in terms of 'driving the QB into the ground'. That ruling has ruined so many fantastic defensive plays, and it makes no sense. All of those were indeed horrible calls, except for the Chiefs/Chargers one. To me, Mahomes wasn't 'throwing' the ball. It was slipping out of his hand as he was ABOUT to throw his hand forward for an actual pass. So, to me, that was a fair fumble call. Also, the final one was 100% unsportsmanlike conduct. You can cry all you want, but pointing and mocking someone is taunting, and you can't do that. All the rest, though, I agree were pretty awful.

It is getting to the point where it's more beneficial for defenders to be a violent as possible when they get to a quaterback because they are gonna get flagged no matter what.
