Great to see you out and about enjoying yourself. Take your own advice and enjoy the experience and leave the self judgement at the trailhead. Your images and enthusiasim are wonderful.
So good to see you out and about again, Lisa. And to see more of your wonderful photography, all the while getting insights to your composition processes. I agree with your sentiments about (landscape) photography being a great salve for the mind and soul. I loved the image of the pool at around 10 minutes - I thought the pond bed and the transparent water introduced the rest of the composition nicely. Looking forward to when you return, and if my wife and I head up that way it won't be far from where we would be staying, so I'll try my hand.
Thank you so much Mick! Definitely well worth visiting - I recommend getting there first thing in the morning though if you're here when it's warmer as it's a very popular swimming spot now and gets packed in summer. Danny and I got away for a few days the other week so I've got a fair bit of video editing ahead of me now! 😄
Oh that would have been so good for you to be out in the bush!!!! I so value being out in it, just taking in the restorative gift that nature has for us. It really does do something for our souls. And great that you were able to have a play after your eye gave you so much of a worry. I can appreciate you might not yet be there fully, but they're enough for you to get out and enjoy special places. Good on you Lisa!!!
Oh definitely it was so good to be out! Just time wandering, exploring and creating...so good! Danny and I went back to Girraween and Bald Rock for a few days, which was wonderful...I've got lots of video to edit and get out there 😁 Thanks so much Denise!
@@LisaFrostPhoto fabulous Lisa - I'm so pleased you've both been able to just be out enjoying it all. Got some work cut out for you too - be worth bringing the story I am sure. Hopefully your eye doesn't give you too much curry in the process.
Yep there's so much to explore. I've been told there are more waterfalls further up the creek too. Next time I'll come first thing in the morning so I can take my time. Thank you!
It's such a lovely spot, it's just very popular now. I thought going late arvo during the week I'd avoid people. I'll have to try first thing in the morning next time, and also see what the light's like then. Thanks Jon!
Photos brill. The beginning of the video, thought you were going into your poetry, that's something you can think about, Mindfulness, poetry and photography,as a mind set video. Take care.
Yeah, that's something I've been thinking about. I've been watching a hiking vlogger who starts his videos with his thoughts about nature or the area or what it does for him - it can be quite poetic - and I really enjoy it. Thank you so much Roy!
Even though the light wasn't what you would have liked, I think the photos you took were great. I particularly liked the pano of the trees and creek. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed your video.
That is a fantastic location Lisa but it definitely made you work hard to get to that second spot with the trees. That spot is definitely worth another visit when you have a bit more light, as you said! I can definitely see the potential in that composition! I really liked the image you took at 4:00, beautiful scene! Really enjoyed this one. It shows the hard work (and the sometimes dirty work) it takes to get the shot! Hope you are doing well, have a great week down there!
Thanks so much Paul! Sorry for the slow reply - I was away for a few days with little reception and am just catching up now. It's such a lovely place - its popularity is a big challenge - during summer you have people swimming and lounging everywhere! All's good here - I was really saddened to see the destruction of Lahaina by fires though - I've been there 4 times and my mum used to go there on holiday almost every year before covid because she loved it so much. Such a terrible thing to happen to the people. It makes you realise just how quickly everything can change and to count my blessings while I can. I hope you're doing well too!
@@LisaFrostPhoto yeah terrible news out of Lahaina. I'm originally from Hawaii, born in Honolulu on Oahu but been to Maui many times. Horrible situation, most of an entire town gone in the flash of an eye.
Hi Lisa, I listened to Kim Grant’s podcast with you late last night, excellent stuff. Great insights into yours and Kim’s thoughts on photography. Keep up the good work. Cheers Brad
Hi Lisa, I just heard you on Photographic Connections. I am a novice photographer but resonate with the approach I heard you speaking about. Strangely my most recent photographic adventures were at Curtis Falls and O'Reilly's. Busting out of lots of time spent at the Spit and Coombabah photographing wildlife. Things are simple all handheld only two lenses. The joy is just being there. The photos are secondary although I do enjoying playing around with postprocessing. DXO Pure Raw is my godsend lots of shots at max ISO. ps. I just watched another of your videos. The photos were stunning. Ive so far to go...
Great to hear you're getting out there and enjoying our beautiful hinterland! Lamington is one of my favourite places - I really love the Binna Burra side of it too - it's a bit different to O'Reillys side - Dave's Creek Circuit is probably my favourite walk. Coombabah wetlands is on my list to properly explore actually - I've only had a short stroll there before. Photography is a never ending journey, which is why it's so enjoyable I think. Thank you so much Kim!
Loved your intro with the semi-meditation 😊. How do you find balancing that with being a 'RUclipsr" and focussing on that as well? It must be a challenge, not to mention the issues you're having with your eye. It's so apparent that you enjoy what you do, and thank you for your explanation and walkthrough - and being so honest. It's not always perfect, and yes the most important thing is being out there!
When I started youtube I set the intention that enjoying it is more important to me than views, subscribes etc and I actually started without any particular goal of getting anywhere with youtube - just wanted to have a go and see how it went. More recently I've started looking at wanting to make an income from it, so I can focus on it fulltime, but I still have the intention of enjoyment first. So I often don't end up doing what would further me with youtube "success". Ideally I'd have a video every week, but with other stuff going on that's often not possible without me forcing it, so I just let it go and do what works. Ironically I become monetised on youtube just as I began having issues with my eye...life can be funny sometimes 😄 Thank you so much Sam for your support 🙏
ISO is not the big deal that it was 20 years ago. Six or seven stops on a camera, including the drone, is generally not noticeable if you expose correctly. So just relax and focus on what is needed (as you did) to get the results.
Top noch Lisa, always enjoy your videos
Thank you so much William! 🙏
Great to see you out and about enjoying yourself. Take your own advice and enjoy the experience and leave the self judgement at the trailhead. Your images and enthusiasim are wonderful.
Absolutely Jim! Thank you so much 🙏
Spot on. Lisa. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Terry!
Thanks Lisa, love the image at 3:35 lots ✌️🌻
Thanks so much Markie!

Sure is a beautiful area, one could spend hours there, thanks for video, and sharing with us.
Yep there's so much to explore. I've been told there are more waterfalls further up the creek too. Next time I'll come first thing in the morning so I can take my time. Thank you!
Nice to see you back in the field Lisa. Loved the 2nd image and the colour in the water in the last image. Lovely location.
Thank you so much Susan. It was great to be out!
Good to see you getting out again. A lovely spot to restore your soul and really liked the last photo over the creek.
Yep I love rainforest creeks. Thank you so much Dianne!
That looks like a great place to shoot. Thanks for bringing us along!

Glad to see your back hope everything goes well
Thanks so much Joseph!
Great to see you back! Actually I loved that soft light and slightly muted, desaturated colours in the pano. The best of the images for my money.
It's always so interesting to see how different people view photos. Thanks so much Peter!
Thanks for taking us to such a beautiful spot and its great to see you out and about! Image at 3:37 is my pick. Entertaining AND elegant as always 😁
Haha always elegant 🤣 Thanks so much Sue 🙏

Hi Lisa, just found your channel, wow what a location, I loved the photos, I especially like the image at 3:31, look forward to the next one 😀
Thank you so much Keith, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm about to head off for a few days to a very different location to this one!
The drone footage is so nice. water the looked so clear pano shot was epic is amazed on the panos you do
I've been enjoying panos a lot lately. The tripod head and levelling base I've got make them so easy to do. Thanks so much Shannon!
Even though the light wasn't what you would have liked, I think the photos you took were great. I particularly liked the pano of the trees and creek. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed your video.
Thank you so much Jay, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Restoring the soul is most always easily accomplished when I, like you, am out in nature with my camera. Lovely vlog Ms. Lisa. 💜💜
Yep, it doesn't get better than being out. Thank you so much TC!

How inspiring nothing better than hiking in nature
Absolutely! Thank you

That's a gorgeous creek Lisa. Tons of potential there. And you would have got away with it, if it wasn't for those pesky kids. 😆
Hahaha...always the pesky kids 🤣 (to be fair all of the second group apologised to me as they went past) Thanks so much Neville!

What a beautiful area. I just returned from QLD and it would have been good to explore the Gold Coast more
There's so many beautiful spots in the Gold Coast Hinterland - I hope you can get back here sometime! Thanks so much Noeline
