- Sweden, the first country to introduce legal gender reassignment, has begun restricting gender reassignment hormone treatments for minors. With the number of diagnoses soaring, the medical community faces the dilemma of weighing precaution against the risks associated with not offering treatment to those suffering from gender dysphoria. According to health services, approximately 8,900 people have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria in Sweden between 1998 and 2021.

I DON'T care about ADULTS transitioning... I just glad this finally happened somewhere, it gives me hope.

They were the first to allow this and now the first to put the breaks on it after the fact... my gosh if that doesn't tell us something what does??
It tells us, we should never ever think it’s okay to experiment on children and allow children on social media ready to brainwash them.
Litterally the only thing they've done is step back on hormone blockers due to uncertainty. There is good evidence to suggest they're harmless but they just decided to play it safe since the evidence isn't 100% telling yet.
They are not banning trans healthcare
It is dangerous when folks without any knowledge about psychology want to convince kids that they need risky surgeries for body dysphoria. What they need is psychotherapy where their issues and worries can be resolved and their confidence is restored together with positive reassurance for their value as a person.
Så bra av Sverige och svenska myndigheter att sätta ett stop för detta, barn kan inte lämna samtycke till sterilisering. Självklart måste vi hjälpa unga trans personer med psykisk välbefinnande och acceptans i samhället men inte genom medikalisering av småbarn.
I was three months into transition started HRT. (MTF)
My last shot was last Saturday.
It has been 7 days.
It has been rough.
But I know it will pass as my testosterone comes back up.
People I was 29 years old when I started hormones.
I made a mistake.
Luckily I wasn't on long enough to see permanent changes.
Though my T was near nuked.
If grown adults like myself make mistakes like this
What percentage of kids are making this mistake?

Any Doctor who gives children these hormones should be in prison! They now know there are serious, irreversible, side effects, and yet they do it anyway knowing a child is making this decision! Any child who wants this needs to know all the things that can happen to them such as cancer, osteoporosis, shortened lifespan, spinal fractures, and much more! This is horrific! Thank you to Sweden for coming to your senses and I hope the rest of the world follows your example

Yea no wonder she werent fine or what? No one convinced her anything she was the one that wanted to come out to her parents then friends and such. When puberty was around the corner she didin’t want to go through it bc of her gender dysphoria. You dont understand how different the process of Trans Healthcare in Sweden and the USA. In Sweden it would take about 2-5 years for a 30 year old person to start or get any kind of treatment do you see how that will be a problem?
The reason why more people want it is because the manipulation of children is somewhat acceptable. Instead of helping kids understand and to help them back on track there helping further the delusion. Our world is unrecognizable at this point.

What you're suggesting is putting kids on conversion therapy. This is know to cause them to kill themselves.
"fully reversible" isn't that what they said?
Evidence still suggests this but the evidence isn't as clear cut as other areas. Many places still accept it and say that there is enough to accept the treatment because of how much good it can do but other places just play it safe till more is known.
This in no way means it is proven harmful
Imagine if 14 isn't old enough to decide if R. Kelly is allowed to piss on you but is old enough to decide you want "gender identity treatment".

Trans kids exist the problem is that there is an increase of not actual trans people trying to do transition. Not everyone is trans. Sometimes kids just are confuse. But trans kids to exist.

You actually compare knee surgeries to sex change? Knee surgery is bit psychological condition.

Knee surgeries can go wring thus causing more pain or even disability. Sometimes they are necessary and they are not done lightly. If you have knee pain you do not just get surgery if there is no physical serious defect. Sex change is mostly psychological want not a physiological need. Very different.
Also all surgeries carry serious risks and should be the last option.
They ⚧️ community want access to the children because they are easily manipulated. Once the become adults, they are less likely to become trans.

What Antonia says are what young people without experience of the world say, if a child at 14 who really loved tattoos was allowed to have then they could cover their body in them, when they’re 20 they might still be happy, but if not they can cover them with clothes of have some removed, even another to cover it. But we also know that at 14 our brains aren’t very developed, it’s difficult for children to think a year into the future, asking them to think 10 years in the future they can’t do it. They would almost all say they wouldn’t change their mind about many things.
These medications & surgeries can’t be reversed, they have long lasting implications and serious side effects, bone strength, needing long term catheters, infections, higher risk of cancer & heart problems…it’s not braces to fix wonky teeth

This anti trans movement is nuts. People are acting like trans people were never children. I had to wait until I was 18 back in 2000. My parents said "it's just a phase".
Treatment is offered as an alternative to suicide and of course many would choose treatment over suicide. I attempted at 13. The condition being less rare than expected is no reason to act like suicide was how you're supposed to handle it. When I transitioned, 40% of those my age had survived a suicide attempt pre transition. Nobody understands how horrific it is to a little girl to watch her body change to look like some hairy man's body. Teen boys having nightmares about their penis falling off wake up and grab their crotch to check if their penis is still there only to find menstrual blood in its place.
90s research found 100% of post ops who died organ donors had a brain sex that matched their gender identity. But people still say "what if you're wrong?!?" And "accept your body" and "kids are too young to decide!". Like WTF, you've NO clue what being trans is like. It's not a phase. It's not a fad. And intersex genitals aren't either btw. Only the queer community and experts who focus on us listen to us. I'm in my 40's. I'm lucky I survived childhood.
At 18 you are still a kid tbh. What would you do if you had those problems 100 years ago, if there was no hormonal or operational options? Would you just kill yourself? Just wondering....

I am totally fine kids at whatever age socially transitioning. However medical transition such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and Gender affirmation surgeries need to be completely banned for anyone under 18+. If an adult has to medically transition, and if they have gone through good non affirmative mental health therapy and if they have a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria then they should medically transition. However trans adults should explore non medical transition options as well. I am saying this a Trans-adult myself.
