I was taking a woman’s workshop last summer. My youngest daughter was 9. Every day was a different topic. One day it was LGBTQ and we had a guest speaker. This guest speaker was F to M trans and the owner of a place called out loud. Out loud is a place for kids to hang out and feel safe. Many vulnerable children go there. I thought it was great! Until I met the owner and ask him a question. His answer left me in shock. I had told him that my 9 year old came home from school one day and told me she didn’t know if she was a boy or a girl. I told her that she is à girl but can dress how ever she wants. If you want to dress boyish some days and girlish some days she could do that. I told her that who she is perfect. . So I told this guest speaker what my response to my daughter was and ask if I had answered her correctly in his view. He said that I should have her see a dr and possibly put her on puberty blockers!! What I’m the actual F*ck?! I was flabbergasted and lost all respect for him. And now I fear for all kids who go to him for advice :( by the way, my daughter loves to do girly things. She is very et feminine. If I was a stupid parent I would have followed the advice I was given by someone with an agenda. My daughter would probably still be confused a year later. She’s fine now and all she needed to know what that she was loved and could express herself in her choice of clothes anytime. She sometimes will wear “boyish” clothes but not often.

I actually think that if someone is truly transgender, then the transition should be done genetically and not through surgery, both, because surgery doesn't provide complete results, as the patient still can't have or father children, and because a genetic transition is reversible, as all they have to do is switch activate the previous genes in the event the person regrets their decision.
SRS is basically only a superficial remedy and doesn't completely satisfy a lot of individuals even if they are truly transgender and have gender dysphoria, a trans woman can still feel incomplete, I would imagine it might be similar to how a woman that has had to have a hysterectomy might feel, when your procreation system doesn't fully work it can leave you unsatisfied as you can't have kids.

That’s denial, not cognitive dissonance. For some reason, people often say “cognitive dissonance” when they mean “denial”. Cognitive dissonance is the feeling you get when you hold two conflicting beliefs, on a conscious level. So, if a person were experiencing cognitive dissonance after transitioning, they would be thinking it was a big mistake, but also that they are supposed to be happy and they need to be happy in order to maintain their membership in their social group. In order to avoid that feeling, they employ denial, and repress their regret into their subconscious mind. The thing about denial is that those thoughts and feelings are still there and they still affect us, even if they aren’t in our consciousness most of the time. In fact, they affect us even more than if we did accept them into consciousness because if they were conscious, we could deal with them and do something to make us ultimately feel better. Everyone, and I mean everyone, lives in denial on some level. People who tend to experience the most denial(in avoidance of cognitive dissonance) are those with very fragile egos. People who many would label as narcissistic and/or borderline, though borderlines are more in touch with and accepting of their fragility, which actually means they have stronger(not weaker) egos than so called “narcissists”. People who can admit they have no idea who they are tend to be the people with the strongest egos, however counterintuitive that may seem.

That is absolutely NOT a Christian view. Christians believe that we are made in the image of God (The Holy Trinity, The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit and the mind, body, and soul of man). God knew us in our Mother's womb and He made us perfect the way we are. It would actually go against our beliefs to modify or mutilate our bodies in any way and would be seen as defiling God's creation. We are taught to accept and love ourselves as God made us and even if we don't always understand God's reasoning for things sometimes, that we are to put our trust and faith in Him, that He has a greater plan for us.
The soul is eternal and our body is its temple. We are of flesh and blood in this life on Earth and the body is sacred. The body, mind, and soul are equal parts that makes us, us. We are taught to care for all of them but nowhere is it stated that we are to change or alter our physical bodies to satisfy our minds because of a self perception or discomfort. We're actually taught that our mind and emotions can deceive us, all the more reason to put our trust in His word.

If we kill ourselves before that, it will be suicide and you'll add it to the numbers of your study.
This line of thinking and commenting sounds extreme. What "study" do you need other than the fact that someone's life is improving and if it isn't, one simply stops treatment and goes another route? If gender transition leaves one with semi-permanent/permanent body changes so will natal puberty but in someone who is dysphoric, it will hurt them. Genspect and LGB Alliance has formed a coalition with conservatives on this issue but do they realize that conservatives feel gays will be unhappy because in the conservative eye, gays misuse their body parts. Genspect and LGB Alliance also claim that one can act however they want and be their birth sex. Transgender people agree with that as well but conservatives don't. Watch how you grease the wheel as it may run you over.

Coercive persuasion is a social influence technique capable of producing substantial changes in behavior and attitudes that is applied to bring about "learning" and "social normalization" through coercive tactics, persuasion and/or manipulative group and/or interpersonal influence. It is distinguished by the conditions under which it is practiced and by the environmental and interpersonal manipulation techniques used to suppress particular behaviors or beliefs and/or lead to others. Goodman and Gilman, The Pharmaceutical Basis of Therapeutics 9th edition, published 1996 does not discuss hormone blockers extensively. This text is considered the leading reference of drug therapy. Estrogen assists bone reformation after loss via the pituitary gland, and vitamin D conversion to active form. Estrogen helps maintain lipid metabolism. Estrogen decreases fasting glucose. Estrogen assists hormone binding of cortisol, and thyroid function. Since estrogen is an euphoric agent estrogen blockers contribute to dysphoria. Hormone blockers affect multiple endocrine systems that maintain regeneration of healthy tissue. There is far more studies needed before full on advocation is accepted. The Dutch team studies were flawed in that 1) low sample size 2) 2011 observations of “clear level headed” adolescents 3) 2014 study a subset of 2011 not controlled, double blind observations. Cases were selected by early onset not by three phases of gender dysphoria.

We are always being judged...too fat, too thin, big breasts, no breasts, flat ass, fat ass, too tall, too short snd on snd on it goes...
Boys however do not get told how to sit( knees snd ankles together) and how to speak ( never say words like 'hot' say warm etc) they do not have to dpend time grooming themselves everyday because no one is judging them...they have no house work to do, they rarely have a curfew...no one tells them to change their clothes before they leave the house...
Boys are free...girls are prey...and we live our lives as window dressing, constantly on display...

There's also no doubt that this is a pathway toward chemical sterility and that most children who start puberty blockers proceed with cross-sex hormones. So, yes, we dó have the medical technology to transform adolescent bodies. But the real question is:

Or is it beneficial to delay the frightening thing while providing treatment? If delaying puberty for precocious puberty is effective and not more harmful than going through puberty at 5, why is it harmful for a 14 year old who needs some time to work out what they are struggling with and whether the solution is male or female puberty? If a child is in extreme distress we need to treat the distress, not just tell them to get on with it.

@@youareherediversity7321 There is risks involved with providing puberty blockers at age 5 however those risks are weighed against the risks of going through puberty at that age. If a child is in extreme distress diagnosing the actual cause of the distress, rather than thrusting experimental medicine with a risk of sterilization at the child, might be more useful. It seems to me that her distress was due to trauma caused by her father.

OK, 10:43 seconds… that is not quoting Christian anthropology… that is Platonism! The early Christians did not see us as a duality, but as an embroidery… the idea of Plato was that souls are incorporeal entities that fall into bodies… and that this is the fall… but he was rebutted by Origen who was Anaxagorean in his metaphysics and anthropology. Origen was antiPlatonist. He never believed that
"a soul falls down into a body". You can see this false ideology being played out in the current circumstances of this world.
[As Origen himself, in his exegesis on the Epistle to Titus, assures, the doctrine about the soul allegedly being prior to the construction of the body belongs neither to the teaching of the Apostles nor to the tradition of the Church, and styles 'heretic' anyone who teaches such things.]
