I’m a sucker for creatures. The new Fang is the reason that I’ve bought this beauty the first day that I could preorder it. I’ve built a D2C/UCS scale Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery Creatures Reservoir with every Lego animal ranging from the standard bat to the goat and Smaug.
I read designer notes about this on brickset, and here's what it says: "George Gilliat was developing 76432, and we put in two spots at the front of Hagrid’s home that can connect to those set’s different sections." So technically this makes Hagrid's hut a part of modular Forbidden Forest sets.
Move that little Ingot above the door over to the right by one and have the double studs be in the center above the door. I think it’ll look less jarring and more like a real pattern.
I do really like this set. But I think it’s also a good demonstration as to why not every set is a full 360 building, cause this set definitely isn’t cheap by any means. Again great build though.

@@CaleAdams How stupid one has to be to price a set based on the pieces, this is tiny, 40$ would be pushing this too far, 75$ is just crasy overpriced.
Cute lil set but the price is just ridiculous. I love that they made so many new prints and molds for this set but its not worth the 75€. For this price I would rather buy the new Animal crossing 77050 set. Yes it is also expensive but I probably like Animal crossing more than Harry potter...I can already see all the Harry potter fans pointing a gun against my head🥲
I think when you look down at it objectively. Nearly 900 pieces, four new figures and two new animal pieces. It's justified. But just get it on sale or wait for a promo at LEGO

Getting closer to that minifig scale model, even though I really like the details on that one. Just missing the bed in one Corner, maybe hams and pans from the ceiling and a Water Barrel in the Front
Hmmmmm. I can see how we got brown. I look at him and see how they could've gone with dark brown. But then they tried the printing and the face maybe wasn't as visible. But ya, dark gray could've worked better
Great set. I see the portraits are in some sort of sepia / yellow tinged light. Am I right in the assumption that we can use them as yellow minifig medieval portraits?
I’m glad to see they brought back the original design for Fang, though I don’t understand why they made him brown, when he was a black furred dog in the movies, and original sets
OK see my thing is why couldn’t they make the new Sauron mini figure like they did this new Hagrid slightly smaller than any big fig, but bigger than the long leg, mini‘s. Like customs torso and same size arms as Hagrid but with armor prints but scale up the ultra unique helmet/shoulder pads. You see what I see? @Ashnflash

I feel like Lego sets are getting way more expensive which is obvious but like I said that as 300 pieces for could be $60 nowadays
It's almost a 900 piece set though so the price isn't too outrageous

Those portraits are way more awesome (and usable in MOCs) than the Wizard Cards!
For the door trim you could put the two gray studs together on the top in the center then each side of the door would match up.

To match the movie version, Fang should be dark grey or black, not brown. I wonder why they picked this off-color.

Nope just size wise it’s not worth $75 maybe $55 but that’s a stretch
I would rearrange the 1x1 grey tiles to be on top of the door and move the ingot piece over by one so it’s atleast symmetrical
