Thank you! I'm about to do just that. I have a 2006 206 16val 1.6 Mex. I bought it from a female co-worker, and with all due respect to women, she never changed engine supports or of she did the mecanic did a poor job. I rebuilt the engine after it failed, the chain or the band that rotates the the valves. Took the whole motor head and replaced the valves, head gasket etc. I have an awesome car. Paint is already sunbunt, minor dent on the right front fender..but the motor is in perfect conditions. There's nothing like the time of need with not enough money, mechanics charging like crazy; that you put your thoughts together man up and DIY. I watched tons of vids JUST LIKE YOUR VIDEO.. And I really thank you. I tried to record pogress and the work, but not enough patience, only me no one wants to help, so I have only pics and 2 vids that are like 30 sec. Greetings from Guadalajara, Mexico. 🇲🇽🙏👍
I’ll be honest, it’s not on my to-do list. There are plenty of other RUclipsrs out there that have done it better than I could. Mine was done before I got it. I understand it’s fairly simple though.
Changed rear axle on my Peugeot 206, but did not check the length of the wheel hub spindles before I replaced the factory rear axle with the new one. Now I cannot assemble the wheel bearings due to the wheel studs being 3/8" too short...
@@NickThornhill This car came with factory-installed brake discs. Perhaps I have received a refurbished rear axle for drum brakes despite ordering one for disc brakes. Are the wheel hub spindles on the control arms shorter on drum brakes compared to disc brakes?
I’ll be honest, I don’t know. I rely on places like euro car parts or MPD for the parts for my daily, it’s a lot easier to take things back when they’re wrong.
Mine is sooo stuck I even not get it out with a press, the bearing was hot and did heat and get more stuck. the part in the suspension is still there, the other is removed quite easly.
Sadly that can happen. Wish I could offer more help. Maybe a dremel to cut through the other bearing race? Might work to relieve some tension. But it could be dead. It may be the time to hop in a friends car or on a bus and find someone with some more hardcore press tools or bearing race pullers or at worse a breakers yard for a new hub.
@@NickThornhill Wel it is done, making things hot do work. The bearing has did turning in the stub eating itselfs in the metal and get stuck, dangerous. I thought breaks did not get free al that time, but mot did say bearing defect. pressing it out needs quite some strength.
I believe the OEM part number is 335032 however mine was an early car without ABS. I suspect there could have been a different part for different year cars with different specs so always double check with your cars specs local supplier. If it helps, I used AutoDoc to get the part number and I’ve used them for parts before.

Your guide is like a cookbook for a beginner like me. I've already learned a lot about car servicing from you, thank you and keep it up!
Thank you. Any requests or jobs you’ve got to do? Ive got so many to do to the Peugeot.
@@NickThornhill If you could show something about replacing the rear axle on a Peugeot 206, I would be grateful. Regards

Thanks so much Nick.
The video was very helpful for me.

You’re more than welcome.

Have you removed a drum brake rear axle and fitted a disc brake one??

@Yannis2022 I’m not sure but it’s the only difference I can think of on the rear end aside from abs/non abs and I can see that effecting the spindles.
Clean work.
Thank you.
Good man you are nick
Thanks
No worries. Glad to have helped.
Good info thanks
How many tonnes of pressure is your press. Thanks
Mine is a bottle jack style 12 ton. Although it really wasn’t working hard. 8-10 ton would handle it easily.
What is the part number for the front wheel bearing? I ordered once from ebay, it came out to be very big not accurate as stated by seller. Thanks

So you need to remove the drive shaft?
From the hub, yes
I have done a separate video on changing out the driveshaft as that was also an issue.
Thank you :)
You’re welcome
Reference part please
