I do believe that MSF has now officially beaten the FoMo out of me. As a very light spender, almost completely F2P, I can safely say I won't be spending extra to up toons that won't stand against time just to get a toon that will be MEH in a year. This is probably the beginning of the end of the line for me, but I'm also cool with it as I've been playing since launch.

@@busomite , I've never liked him. He should just stick to looking into the datamines for us. Everything else he seems to not know what he's talking about, although he claims he does. All these content creators say stuff, but then what he says is completely different and goes around saying that he is right and they are wrong. Also, it's frustrating when he does character predictions. He throws a list of 20 names out there and then maybe one or two of them are correct.
All the pv riders are here to disagree with you but you’re completely right. They have a whole game plan for what to do if scopely doesn’t listen to them and this is a time when they’re absolutely being put in their place by scopely. Bending over like this is just going to tank their ability to make change. They’re useless now I guess.
The krakens are the real problem in this game. It doesn't matter how much scopely charge for characters, they'll keep throwing money at them. If they stopped being so goddamn dumb, scopely would have no choice but to reduce the prices or they'll sell nothing and their cashcow will die.
$50-100 for a single new character is broad day robbery. We got people complaining about $10 characters in other games yet the smooth brain spenders here are just tossing money into the ocean.

Getting the krakens and whales of MSF to not spend money on this game is like telling a crack addict not to smoke crack. All signs point to that not happening.
Boycotts never work anyway. Back when Khasino made MSF videos and could be trusted, he exposed a ton of players. There was a boycott around the time Cyclops was added to the game. A lot of top spenders were boycotting, but Khasino exposed them because a ton of them were in a livestream chat saying they were still getting Cyclops, but on a secondary or third account. So the developers were still getting money from these players and the boycott was a joke. There has been a few other boycotts as well. Usually around January-early April month range is when boycotts seem to happen. But they always do nothing. It's actually been shown from data (monthly revenue charts and stuff that the public can see) that the developers make more money when there is a boycott.
I officially went through with account deletion on Sunday. It was a damn fun run but they priced and pinched me out as a launch player / spender. Was time to move on and remove temptation. Appreciate you mobile it was a fun ride. The community was great and for the past few years playing for the alliance kept me going. Had a blast with you all for a long time. Keep up the great work and I hope this gets better for the dedicated players still remaining. You all are MSF, not the devs / investors.

If Scopely is asking me to get 5* characters to unlock a 3* semi-legendary, only to ask me to buy more offers to make that character worthwhile - they have another thing coming, and it isn't my money. I'm in the same group as you and Valley - I get the passes, I buy the cheapest unlock offer, and some random training mats/T4 offers from time to time, so I understand I'm the target FOMO audience for this. But the threat of vaulting (I see it as a threat, not a FOMO event) is so off-putting.
It would be great if supposed "players voice" wouldnt send a message that they are moving to next battle when this one is clearly still not lost. Whole community is up in arms and players voice just bends over. Ppl should start realising only interest they represent are their own as spenders.
I actually completely understand why the PV have sent the message that they are moving onto the next battle. The PV’s and the Envoys can only advise Scopely. If they don’t take the advice and council that we offer (for free BTW none of us are paid for this)and decide to plow on regardless then the only thing we can do is gather feedback from the community and hand it at their door. They cannot organise Spending Strikes or Gameplay boycotts because if they do Scopely could just pull their involvement with the PV and same for the Envoys (just look at what CG did with their content creator program). It’s better to have us there to be able to help change the things they are willing to budge on. Than to not have us there and for the community just to be ignored and plow on.

The Old Man Logan trials were not as profitable as Scopely was hoping for and now they're trying to make up profits with the Captain Britain event. The Alpha Flight release might've not been as profitable as they were hoping for either.
Picture this: if this thing works for Scopely and the people are gonna buy CB, gues what, the next team, let's say Vampires, will be the same, if you want Blade, pay. And so on. So think carefully...
I think fixing monetization in msf is necessary, but it sucks. My problem is Scopely is making it suck more than it needs to with these fomo predatory tactics.
Playing Marvel Strike Force is a blast if you don’t take it too seriously and don't mind paying developers who seem to care very little about the user community. The rewards for game modes are often disappointing, and the usual daily and weekly task rewards haven't been updated in years. Plus, the constant release of new characters, some with very short lifespans, is just plain ridiculous. If only they read the comics, followed the characters, and understood them, the game wouldn't be in the mess it is now. But, taking a step back, I’m actually pretty happy. Since day one, I've played how I want to play, developed the characters I like, and ignored the developers' attempts to force me to spend money or play their way.
Wouldn't surprise me. Whenever they release a new Dark Dimension character (currently it's Mephisto), we start seeing a lot of the previous one pop up in stuff and to the point it's a whole wave. So yeah. Be on the lookout for 7 Super Skrulls at once in the near future. Mobile didn't cause anything. I've seen it done with Dorms, Doom, and Ultron. Plus I think I've seen it once or twice with Apocalypse. Could even throw in Kestrel.
The problem is you're overthinking it. Scopely doesnt want you to think, just blindly buy everything. Then dont have to worry about requirements, problem solved
Yeah, this is so bad, i cant believe they still haven't addressed this. I used to buy initial unlock of all characters and all passes but the way this game has been trending i decided to stop buying new characters and just get passes but if this isn't addressed in the next day or 2 i will stop buying passes as well. When they become greedier and want to paygate things like OML or Captain Britain it makes me want to spend less. Very likely i become free to play unless they backtrack on this Captain Britain unlock. I have seen this type of paygate happen in another game and i stopped playing and now the game is shut down. Which is unfortunately where this game may be heading if this trend continues. Which i dont want to see.

I fully believe that this situation is a knee-jerk reaction to the OML trials. OML was NOT intended to be unlocked by as many players as he was. Krakens thought they would have more exclusivity with him. Even more so, the trial itself being too easy where not so heavy spenders could get a 6 star Logan. After this, the Krakens went full crybaby and Scopely gave them their Binky Brexit to soothe them.
this is not like zombie iron man or Juggernaut, For a fact even though both of those characters were to be considered limited time releases, they actually even went back on their word about zombie iron man saying initially that he would only be unlockable for that month in October and then not again until next year, they did what scopely does and put up offers 6 months after zombie irons mans event campaign, so right there, is a fact that he wasnt exclusive, I think to absolutely paywall a character, feels aweful, though this could be considered to be like the old legendary unlock method where they had to have 5* characters.
Im fine with them charging for toons. The problem is the lack of info. If i buy $100 shuri and pym offer, is there going to be unlcok events b4 the showcase is over? We need information so we can make the proper decisions for ourselves...
When you are to able unlock characters matters a lot. Many events require the new characters to participate. Unlocking new characters later also means you are not as competitive which makes the game not fun because no one wants to get wrecked in any game mode. Having access to rank them up once they are out of the meta is pointless because no one wants to spend resources (in game or real money) on characters that can no long help improve competitiveness or achieve a goal. I can appreciate that Scopely needs to make money. However, expanding the gap between ftp and spenders is a slippery slop. FTP with a lot of skill can help drive up sales for spenders because some spenders don't think they should ever lose to ftp. So they spend more money to keep the highly skilled ftp at bay. To the degree that spenders should have an advantage, I can agree, but the advanage should not negate the requirement of skill completely. When ftp complains about an issue like OML in arena, Scopely responds with "get gud". But when spenders complain, Scopely increases the gap between spenders and ftp. I'm worried that the game will create such a hard division between ftp and spenders that the only way to win on any game mode or rank high enough in any leader board to gain not worthless rewards will be to spend money, and more so than anyone else. At this point, it is no longer a game but an auction. I came for a fun game, not an auction.
Respectfully, im not sure any content creator who gets to write off in-game purchases as "business expenses" should make recommendations for the rest of us.
Players' voice and the envoys can take up the mantle, but the only way to show the devs their idea stinks is for everyone to stop spending. Not forever, just for now and on this issue (because I don't want to see the game end). If the community is for reals, someone has to utilize all means of communication to form a comprehensive boycott (but we'd need commitments from spenders at all levels), someone with clout and who a large swath of the community would listen to on the issue.
I mean.. I will drop some cores on Hank and Shuri unlocks but I won't bother with CB for cash. Not worthwhile because the game is way too greedy on battle passes alone

I used tombuy the passes, but here lately I haven't even gotten that. And as far as crucible, like Valley I've been letting my rank slip.mthere is absolutely nothing in the store I need any more, and the couple of diamond orbs I get just aren't worth it. I just do one attack to get my participation in and thats it.
6:28 Ppl need to stop blaming msfpv and envoys, they tried to reason with Boundless. The truth is Boundless is probably not going to cave on Captain Britain. There has only really been one other time Boundless didn’t cave in the last year, and that was the OML stargate. In both cases, they are testing spending depth and working on fixing their monetization model.

Yep. They'll probably want us to do the 2 New Characters & 3 Reworked Characters combo for now and then later on remove a rework to make room for Captain Britain. And of course, the 3 New Characters & 2 Reworked Characters combo is the strongest team. At least I've had my Iron Man at g16/g17 for over a year (since Biotic Avengers were the best Tech team), so I don't really have to work on him or as much as other players (I might take him to level 95 and gear 18). And by the sounds of it, he is the weakest one and be the one to get rid of and replace with Captain Britain. Mister Fantastic is the only one I really have to work on the most for the three reworks. But I don't mind using the three reworks for now and the two new characters.

I think we've lost 4 people in our alliance, raids aren't getting done, and the vibes have been completely killed on our discord. These people were the only reason I stuck around. It also pisses me off that it's been 4 days and Scopley has been crickets. What kind of leadership is that? Letting you guys take the heat while they hide. They tried that. What happened is that smart F2P can take that 1 star toon and beat their $$ version. Krakens have been crying about this, so this is their fix to keep them happy.
The FOMO has worked on me before they said out of time was required for the next legendary i purchased Black Knight based on his use in game (everywhere) and then CGR and Starknack all based on my desire to be ready for the next legendary so when Cabal came out i passed on their offers silly me after they were released then they announced they would be required as well but i didn't buy them so i was only able to unlock a 4* OML so no i won't be buying Shuri or Hank or Capt Briton because once i do they will change the requirements again all to fil their greedy pockets trying to prey on people with no impulse control. Cosmic crucible is already less important to me since they moved me down last season. If i am not able to unlock Capt Briton FTP ill probably just quit the game. BTW Scopley is doing the same in Monopoly Go as well changed events to force you to spend $$$ i got kids lol aint nobody got time for that lol
This doesn't just widen the gap between FTP and spenders. This will literally ruin an entire game mode for a majority of the players. If he's as strong as the CCs say he will be in Crucible, then any FTP (or anyone that doesn't spend hundreds of dollars for a character) will automatically lose to someone who spent the money to get him. And this is at a time when the game desperately needs a new game mode.
I still love the videos. I quit about 10 days ago. I couldn't believe I went thru withdrawal symptoms of just clicking buttons, but I did. The whole Captain Britan was the final straw. 80$ a month wasn't enough. Players Voice is out the door. The new company wants their return on investment, and the game has gone downhill fast. Sorry for everyone still going thru the stress of this game. I know some love it and have the money, but pay to play is just out of my price range. Hope they got what they wanted. Less customers.

Organize a freeze week. None of us play for a week. I like the game, pay if you want, don't pay if you don't want. But they are bleeding people dry and forcing "awesome" offers down our throats every second. This is greed simply put. You spend money on orbs, and you get like 2 shards sometimes on characters??? That's not cool.
Yeah. They've been doing some messed up stuff back in 2018 aka Launch Year. A lot of players were like "this game isn't going to make it to the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020." It's 2024 and the game is still going. And I'm a Launch Day player as well. I've seen stuff. This is really nothing new. Everyone just needs a reason to be dramatic again.
You can’t admit it for obvious reasons, but I know you (content creators) are loving this shit. The engagement is through the roof and you get to make countless videos about it. No knocks of course. Do what you gotta do. I don’t think Captain Britain is going to change anything in the end. People that spend were already going to spend. For crucible, if you’re not the type to buy CB then you’re unlikely to be competing against people that are. Zombie Iron Man was gated and didn’t ruin the game.
As a free to play player, I"ve been lagging behind the spend players for a while. I don't really see how a character I'll have to wait a bit to gain access to changes much. I can still run a 5-man team with them. In the past there have been characters that, without spending, left us free-to-play players with only a 2 or 3 star version that wasn't super useful.
I used to spend between 2 and 300 a month. Then I realized I'm never gonna outspend most. There's an old economics principle....charge what the market will bear. The devs will never truly listen until ALL spending stops for like 2-4 weeks. Hit em in the pockets and they will listen.

Right after this was announced we had a player in our alliance who just fully unlocked Mephisto put in his notice that he is retiring.
I think fixing monetization in msf is necessary, but it sucks. My problem is Scopely is making it suck more than it needs to with these fomo predatory tactics.

Playing Marvel Strike Force is a blast if you don’t take it too seriously and don't mind paying developers who seem to care very little about the user community. The rewards for game modes are often disappointing, and the usual daily and weekly task rewards haven't been updated in years. Plus, the constant release of new characters, some with very short lifespans, is just plain ridiculous. If only they read the comics, followed the characters, and understood them, the game wouldn't be in the mess it is now.
But, taking a step back, I’m actually pretty happy. Since day one, I've played how I want to play, developed the characters I like, and ignored the developers' attempts to force me to spend money or play their way.
They might add more incursion raidds in the future for the illuminati shards

Wouldn't surprise me. Whenever they release a new Dark Dimension character (currently it's Mephisto), we start seeing a lot of the previous one pop up in stuff and to the point it's a whole wave. So yeah. Be on the lookout for 7 Super Skrulls at once in the near future. Mobile didn't cause anything. I've seen it done with Dorms, Doom, and Ultron. Plus I think I've seen it once or twice with Apocalypse. Could even throw in Kestrel.
The problem is you're overthinking it. Scopely doesnt want you to think, just blindly buy everything. Then dont have to worry about requirements, problem solved

Yeah, this is so bad, i cant believe they still haven't addressed this. I used to buy initial unlock of all characters and all passes but the way this game has been trending i decided to stop buying new characters and just get passes but if this isn't addressed in the next day or 2 i will stop buying passes as well. When they become greedier and want to paygate things like OML or Captain Britain it makes me want to spend less. Very likely i become free to play unless they backtrack on this Captain Britain unlock. I have seen this type of paygate happen in another game and i stopped playing and now the game is shut down. Which is unfortunately where this game may be heading if this trend continues. Which i dont want to see.
Imagine this the new epic tag gets added to the next dd . Thereby locking people out of dd nodes unless they pay for the epic toons

I fully believe that this situation is a knee-jerk reaction to the OML trials. OML was NOT intended to be unlocked by as many players as he was. Krakens thought they would have more exclusivity with him. Even more so, the trial itself being too easy where not so heavy spenders could get a 6 star Logan. After this, the Krakens went full crybaby and Scopely gave them their Binky Brexit to soothe them.

For a fact even though both of those characters were to be considered limited time releases, they actually even went back on their word about zombie iron man saying initially that he would only be unlockable for that month in October and then not again until next year, they did what scopely does and put up offers 6 months after zombie irons mans event campaign, so right there, is a fact that he wasnt exclusive,
I think to absolutely paywall a character, feels aweful, though this could be considered to be like the old legendary unlock method where they had to have 5* characters.
The spenders will always spend, always. Hurting the F2P and light spenders doesn’t make for an engaging game.

When you are to able unlock characters matters a lot. Many events require the new characters to participate. Unlocking new characters later also means you are not as competitive which makes the game not fun because no one wants to get wrecked in any game mode. Having access to rank them up once they are out of the meta is pointless because no one wants to spend resources (in game or real money) on characters that can no long help improve competitiveness or achieve a goal.
I can appreciate that Scopely needs to make money. However, expanding the gap between ftp and spenders is a slippery slop. FTP with a lot of skill can help drive up sales for spenders because some spenders don't think they should ever lose to ftp. So they spend more money to keep the highly skilled ftp at bay. To the degree that spenders should have an advantage, I can agree, but the advanage should not negate the requirement of skill completely. When ftp complains about an issue like OML in arena, Scopely responds with "get gud". But when spenders complain, Scopely increases the gap between spenders and ftp.
I'm worried that the game will create such a hard division between ftp and spenders that the only way to win on any game mode or rank high enough in any leader board to gain not worthless rewards will be to spend money, and more so than anyone else. At this point, it is no longer a game but an auction. I came for a fun game, not an auction.
Respectfully, im not sure any content creator who gets to write off in-game purchases as "business expenses" should make recommendations for the rest of us.

Players' voice and the envoys can take up the mantle, but the only way to show the devs their idea stinks is for everyone to stop spending. Not forever, just for now and on this issue (because I don't want to see the game end). If the community is for reals, someone has to utilize all means of communication to form a comprehensive boycott (but we'd need commitments from spenders at all levels), someone with clout and who a large swath of the community would listen to on the issue.

Scopley needs to make britian unlockable with 3 shield (3*), then the 4th shield that's locked behind 5* units gives a 5* Britain.

- They refuse the fix the CC issue. Despite it being raised multiple times over the past 6 months.

6:28 Ppl need to stop blaming msfpv and envoys, they tried to reason with Boundless. The truth is Boundless is probably not going to cave on Captain Britain. There has only really been one other time Boundless didn’t cave in the last year, and that was the OML stargate. In both cases, they are testing spending depth and working on fixing their monetization model.

Yep. They'll probably want us to do the 2 New Characters & 3 Reworked Characters combo for now and then later on remove a rework to make room for Captain Britain. And of course, the 3 New Characters & 2 Reworked Characters combo is the strongest team. At least I've had my Iron Man at g16/g17 for over a year (since Biotic Avengers were the best Tech team), so I don't really have to work on him or as much as other players (I might take him to level 95 and gear 18). And by the sounds of it, he is the weakest one and be the one to get rid of and replace with Captain Britain. Mister Fantastic is the only one I really have to work on the most for the three reworks. But I don't mind using the three reworks for now and the two new characters.

I think we've lost 4 people in our alliance, raids aren't getting done, and the vibes have been completely killed on our discord. These people were the only reason I stuck around. It also pisses me off that it's been 4 days and Scopley has been crickets. What kind of leadership is that? Letting you guys take the heat while they hide. Absolute clowns, I don't even want to open the game anymore.

They tried that. What happened is that smart F2P can take that 1 star toon and beat their $$ version. Krakens have been crying about this, so this is their fix to keep them happy.
The FOMO has worked on me before they said out of time was required for the next legendary i purchased Black Knight based on his use in game (everywhere) and then CGR and Starknack all based on my desire to be ready for the next legendary so when Cabal came out i passed on their offers silly me after they were released then they announced they would be required as well but i didn't buy them so i was only able to unlock a 4* OML so no i won't be buying Shuri or Hank or Capt Briton because once i do they will change the requirements again all to fil their greedy pockets trying to prey on people with no impulse control. Cosmic crucible is already less important to me since they moved me down last season. If i am not able to unlock Capt Briton FTP ill probably just quit the game. BTW Scopley is doing the same in Monopoly Go as well changed events to force you to spend $$$ i got kids lol aint nobody got time for that lol
This doesn't just widen the gap between FTP and spenders. This will literally ruin an entire game mode for a majority of the players. If he's as strong as the CCs say he will be in Crucible, then any FTP (or anyone that doesn't spend hundreds of dollars for a character) will automatically lose to someone who spent the money to get him. And this is at a time when the game desperately needs a new game mode.
This feels very similar to epic confrontations from SWGOH which SUCK!
I still love the videos. I quit about 10 days ago. I couldn't believe I went thru withdrawal symptoms of just clicking buttons, but I did. The whole Captain Britan was the final straw. 80$ a month wasn't enough. Players Voice is out the door. The new company wants their return on investment, and the game has gone downhill fast. Sorry for everyone still going thru the stress of this game. I know some love it and have the money, but pay to play is just out of my price range. Hope they got what they wanted. Less customers.

Organize a freeze week. None of us play for a week. I like the game, pay if you want, don't pay if you don't want. But they are bleeding people dry and forcing "awesome" offers down our throats every second. This is greed simply put. You spend money on orbs, and you get like 2 shards sometimes on characters??? That's not cool.

Yeah. They've been doing some messed up stuff back in 2018 aka Launch Year. A lot of players were like "this game isn't going to make it to the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020." It's 2024 and the game is still going. And I'm a Launch Day player as well. I've seen stuff. This is really nothing new. Everyone just needs a reason to be dramatic again.
You can’t admit it for obvious reasons, but I know you (content creators) are loving this shit. The engagement is through the roof and you get to make countless videos about it. No knocks of course. Do what you gotta do.
I don’t think Captain Britain is going to change anything in the end. People that spend were already going to spend. For crucible, if you’re not the type to buy CB then you’re unlikely to be competing against people that are. Zombie Iron Man was gated and didn’t ruin the game.
As a free to play player, I"ve been lagging behind the spend players for a while. I don't really see how a character I'll have to wait a bit to gain access to changes much. I can still run a 5-man team with them. In the past there have been characters that, without spending, left us free-to-play players with only a 2 or 3 star version that wasn't super useful.
The whales and krakens need to FOMO more so scopley will quit ruining the game.
I used to spend between 2 and 300 a month. Then I realized I'm never gonna outspend most. There's an old economics principle....charge what the market will bear.
The devs will never truly listen until ALL spending stops for like 2-4 weeks. Hit em in the pockets and they will listen.

People have been complaining on every aspect of the game since the fricking launch. posting as if they truly hate the game and wants to start a revolution. yet, they still log on daily and plays the game every day... if you hate a game.... DONT PLAY IT! stop complaining all the damn time...

What you’re describing is more towards apathy. Or beta’s who just lay down like a house cat. People who complain are passionate and want to see change. And considering all the changes the community has motivated scopely/foxnext to do through “complaining”/uproar, we need people to complain. Otherwise no change happens. And the game would be even worse. If you don’t want to see complaining, then don’t watch the content that is obviously going to be negative for you.
