It's good to see you making a tutorial again! Could this stuff be adapted to make a game like Worms with destructible levels I wonder? I've dabbled with tile maps in Unity, but not Terraria type stuff, so seems like a good choice for a tutorial! I might have to come back to it when I've got more time.
Hi there! Thanks for watching it! I think this system can be used in a game like Worms. Even in this tutorial I featured block destruction. In this version I used a tool object to destroy the ground but the system can be adapted for explosives and any other kind of object that are used in such games
Thankyou Tamara, you accommodate my request, by the way I have tried this game features with combine graph editor and infinite map . I really enjoy your video and hopefully I can get more insight from your tutorial. 😄
For anyone wanting to recreate Terraria, do not use tilemaps with ruletiles! I wasted months trying to get it to work. The actual solution: - Break the world into chunks and draw textures to a mesh on each chunk. - Then use ECS to procedurally generate the world as array of which block to place. - Make the chunks as dumb as possible so they load/unload fast (use MVC with a master controller for all chunks).
In other cases, if the sample contains multiple rule tiles, it may not work with the cs0433 error. In this case, erase the sample, make the project clean, and try again
sorry i had to stop watching, you were going way to fast in some areas, and you just went ahead and did somethings without showing it. giving a dislike. Thanks just to fast of a tutorial for me

Thank you for watching! I hope you'll learn something new from this video!
This is gonna help me with my game contsruct
Is it also possible to make a pickaxe interact with more tilebases than just one? because I want a pickaxe to mine more blocks than just 1
Yes, I think it is possible. You can look into the method called SetTilesBlock or calculate the positions yourself and then remove the tiles
I would love to see this in 3D
The name 'ItemType' does not exist in the current context
why I'm getting this error
Why u cut important steps ???????????

how do you inherit RuleTile in the class RuleTileWithData? i cant seem to get it to work
Check if you imported the tilemap extras in your project and make sure you import tilemaps in your script

You just cut important scenes so we buy patreon subscription to download neccessary tools. This is real greedy. Disliked.
True😢
MMMM I love scriptable objects
Me too! They're really useful
