This car is just a piece of art. You can just stare at it and simply enjoy. Like an expensive watch - you look at a beautiful watch but you’re not interested in what time it is. Hope to drive it one day.
The best auto review channel! Why? Only here mention the fake exhausts, galvanized buttons, animal skin surfaces, and so on... The devil in details and Thomas got them all!
The ugly plastic band instead of a rear diffuser ? The rev limiter making it sound asthmatic ? The squeaky dampers ? The fake active sound system even Audi is ashamed to confess they used it ? The ridiculous water and oil cooling systems taking you above 115°C just cruising in town ? Seriously the C8 is for people who don’t know anything about what makes a sports car desirable, they just want a €200k big ass iPad to set up the A/C.
"Surround level: Max it all out, Yeah!" Great Review as always, Thomas. Nice but expensive car - you'll want all those options to make it a cool car, but so pricey! Excellent driving and commentary, and enjoyed the autobahn of course. Many thanks Autogefuhl.
The new RS6 has a rack fault they used an incompatible grease which can produces creaks in the axis when you are driving after about 1 hour . Audi brought an engineer from the factory from Germany to Monaco several customers had complained and found that this noise was due to the bad grease used at the factory

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: ruclips.net/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/видео.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette. Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Finally the RS6 on its home turf, one reason I always watch the reviews here. The autobahn segment is the bit that no other channel does as well. I still disagree with Thomas about leather, rexine is terrible for tropical weather, fabric might be a better option. Keep it up.
Do the newer models have any sort of downshift protection built in? I once had a little mishap with the shift paddles and i blew two valves on a 2.0 TFSI. Thanks for another great review. It's really strange why automakers are still using animal leather. Every car I've owned with animal leather seats did not age well. Leather cracks and wears down even if you take care of it properly. And that's not to mention heating/cooling argument. @@autogefuehl I admire how you worship at the alter of human progress by analyzing the engineering, assembly, materials, and science of these amazing new automobiles and share your findings on RUclips. I drive only German automobiles and have for decades because I too admire what is put forth. However, I am a bit confused as your stated ideology does not square with your passion of human mobility. Every platitude cited; “climate change, animal rights, deforestation, etc” creates a moral conflict based on vague notions of harming plants, animals or the planet overall. Simply put, the energy industry is the industry that powers every other industry. ref:(The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels 2014) Alex Epstein. The auto industry itself uses; 2,000F degree furnaces that forge steel and aluminum structural components. Petroleum the basis for fittings, couplers, coatings and panels. Complex chemical compounds make tires, ceramic and paint coatings, and rare-earth minerals are essential in energy storage. All…and I mean ALL material production from raw state need copious amounts of energy. Most of this comes from fossil fuels because “renewables” have proven either too unreliable, expensive and/or incapable due to low density issues. Note historically high kWh rates in Germany after mandating "renewable" energy. Also, recycling is an extremely energy intensive industry, from collection, sorting and re-constutiuon. These processes would not fit under the “green” banner of being harmless or non-impact to the environment because the standard seems unattainable and anti-human. Remember, when we were young they predicted limits to population growth “population bomb” due to insufficient agricultural production. Mind you, human ingenuity is not static, therefore GMO, nitrogen based fertilizers, and advanced complex energy consuming machines have made food production almost twice as efficient from that of the 1960’s. Now we feed the worlds 7+ billion people on roughly the same amount of arable land allowing more forests to be untouched by human hands. There is greater access to calories per capita than ever in human history and it is worth noting that most human starvation is politically based, not resource based. ref:(Confessions of a Green Peace Dropout 2013) Dr. Partrick Moore. Bottom line, if we are the earth impactors, species annihilators and resource depletors as you describe, shouldn’t we advocate the abolition of anything industrial, which is basically all that makes up modern day civilization? If that were the case, I fear the human race would revert back to the pre-industrial conditions of shortened lifespan, disease, starvation, tribalism and barbarism. Every day would be a grueling challenge to wake up and find the resources just to live that day, all to do that over and again. I prefer the life we have created together whereby I get to watch in amazement an automobile scholar such as yourself, half a world away, detail all aspects of human progress and mobility. Thank you for the exchange.
The contrast color of those aerodynamic elements make them look like some cheap plastic pieces. Whoever decided to do this on such an otherwise gorgeous car should be stripped naked and paraded around the city.

The RS6 has always been part of my TOP 3 dream cars, and with this new gen, it remains on the top. What a gorgeous car! 🔥😍
The RS6 Looks so aggressive.. Good Job Audi
Personally, I prefer the less-aggressive looks of the older German high-performance sedans/estates, but this one is definitely pleasing to the eye.
Half of that visual aggressivity is fake vents.

We cant make everything perfect, but it is important to make new cars as animal friendly as possible
I was expecting to see the night vision working 😕
kickass :-)
The contrast color of those aerodynamic elements make them look like some cheap plastic pieces. Whoever decided to do this on such an otherwise gorgeous car should be stripped naked and paraded around the city.
I would rather they use leatherette/Alcantara. I don’t like real leather
way to go!
Thomas ignore the three down votes, it's just proof that there are still a/holes in the car community 😂
Just 👎 because this animal skin BS what keeps sayin'
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: ruclips.net/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/видео.html
In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter.
