Thanks! Just fixed my toilet handle thanks to your video. Oddly....the screw on for the thing that had come loose? Isn't righty tighty lefty loosey. It's the opposite. Just bought the house a few months ago, so god knows why this is. Shitter works, though!

You're turning it Counterclockwise to tighten. Clockwise to loosen it.

Check the threads. If they have been stripped the nut won't be able to snug up to the reservoir.

I had the same issue with a brand new handle. turns out the hole in the toilet was too large (worn down?). If you don’t want to buy another handle, you can try to cram something in there. Another video suggested using a rubber washer, and it seems to work for me so far.

I tightened the nut but when I do that it doesn't flush at all. The handle won't go down at all. Any suggestions?
