Thanks, I bought a new kit and it was all metal and I was confused if the old plastic parts should be removed(they were hard to unscrew). Your video cleared it all up!

That last tip is the best one. Especially when your wife thinks you have no idea of what you're doing!

I was making this more difficult than it appears to be...but I haven't done it yet. Thanks for the lesson. btw - your bathroom is lovely. Very pretty touches. Did you do it yourself?

My handle is stuck in the down position and after I flush it, I have to push it back up to the normal position. Do you think it's because I need a new handle? The chain looks like it is in the normal place.

My old handle was doing the same thing until the plastic arm broke. Now the new one installed was doing it every time, getting stuck after pushing down to flush and I have to lift the handle up manually to stop the water flow. The only way I got it to come back up after flushing is leave the locknut in a very loose position, not even hand tight. The hole in my toilet where the handle arm is inserted is round, not square like being discussed here so I do not know if that is the problem.

@@randys6220 Well I solved the problem by getting a better plumber. I showed him some of the bills from my old plumber and he said I had been grossly overcharged. Well that part of my life is behind me. I hope you find a solution to your problem. Maybe the person in the hardware store has a tip. Best of luck to you!
