    Joe T. Garcia’s is a tourist trap. If you want good Tex-Mex try any mom and pop shop on Vickery or Magnolia.

      Feel free and name a few that serve better versions of their "Regular Dinner" that has been around since 1935? I don't care about the 70s invention of fajitas.

      This dude hasnt been in Fort Worth very long. As a NATIVE from Fort Worth since 1966 I can tell you which places you should visit in order and which to avoid:
      Best: Coopers BBQ. Locals will likely tell you Coopers is a "newcomer" but that is only correct as far as Fort Worth goes. The original in Llano has been in business a lot longer than either of the Fort Worth places like Railhead or Angelos. Far superior meats to either place although go to one of the other and get a FREEZING cold mug of beer. Just order "one large".
      Second Best: Joe Ts. Locals will ALSO call this place a tourist trap but its really not because of the history and pretty good Mexican food. Just be sure to order "the Regular Dinner" as opposed to fajitas or anyhting else. Atmosphere is awesome BUT do not wait more than 30-45 minutes to get seated its not that good.
      Average and Overpriced: Cattlemans Steakhouse.
      Lame and WAY Overpriced: Any of Tim Love's places.
      AVOID at all Costs: ALL Ricskys places whether BBQ or steak. NO locals or Texans ever eat there. And that "All you can eat "beef rib" plate is a RIPOFF because those are the back ribs with mostly gristle and fat and VERY little beef. Nothing like the "dino" beef ribs you see on good BBQ places on TV.

      @@darrengladwell Your welcome sir. Any further tips om food places in Fort Worth just ask. Here's a bonus for ya. Camp Bowie Blvd. runs west from downtown roughly parallel to I-30. It's a really cool street to drive because a good portion of it is old bricks and the section between Hulen Street and Bryant Irvin Road has some of the best "old school" FW places to eat for various items and the BEST one is.....Zeke's Fish and Chips! YES a little bitty hole in the wall that has specialized in fried cod for the past 50 years! Flown in fresh from Iceland 5 days a week. You need to order the "Two piece Cod combo" which gets you two GIANT pcs of fish and two fried veggies and hush puppies. My fave is mushrooms and eggplant. Tartar and "dill" sauces are awesome. I've had fried cod in a lot of New England places and this beats them all. Other really good places are The Original Mexican Eats Cafe, Kincaids Hamburgers, Mexican Inn and El Fenix. (Always order cheese enchiladas at FW mexican restaurants and NEVER fajitas). If you are in town on a Wed. you have to go to El Fenix for their $5.99 Enchilada Dinner.

    I was tricked into the calf fries thing (called "Rocky Mountain Oysters" in Denver) back when I was a kid...and been hooked ever since lol. It's not anything like you imagine, but some people just can't get past the mental block😊

    You oughtta try them calf fries Mexican style. Throw them in and fry them up in a little bit of oil or lard (your choice) with a pinch of cumin and garlic, some onion, tomato and cut up jalapeños with some salt and pepper. Cook’em till they’re done to your liking and warm you up some tortillas and make some tacos with some salsa in them. Now your talking! Buen provecho!!!🤠

      @@timaroundtown7336 As someone who first ate at Joe Ts in 1967 when the dining room had about 12 tables I can honestly say that Joe Ts is BOTH a touristy place as well as a decent FW Mexican restaurant IF you order the "Regular Dinner" ONLY. If someone wants fajitas you can get that ANYWHERE as good or better for much less money and time. The best Mexican dinner you can still buy in Fort Worth (or even Dallas) is still El Fenix on Wednesdays for their $5.99 Enchilada Dinner.

    Don't go to Joe T's, its the worst TexMex food out there. Just because it as been there for so many years does not mean its good. Over priced and awful food, why would you recommend this place.

    • @jaysantos536
      @jaysantos536 3 года назад

      Overpriced average food if you stick with the Regular Dinner. And fell free and name even ONE so-called "awful food" Mom and Pop place that has been open nearly 90 years. You cant so quit being a pretend Mexican food snob. They have been serving the same food forever and folks have voted with their wallets to stand in long lines.

      100% Agree J.T.G. Over rated and they will not see me again.
      Goto Dos Melinda's for good eating. Joe T taste like Chef Boyrardee strait from the can. Worst disappointment for food ever.

    I was so disappointed to see your video. I was a Realtor in Fort Worth for more than 20 years and I grew up in the stockyards. Not only did you not name any of the best restaurants in the Stockyards you chose Riscky's which is the worst restaurant in the Stockyards. Best Steakhouse: Lonesome Dove, CFS; Horseshoe Hill, Star Cafe (also the oldest restaurant in FW, opened around 1900), best Mexican; dos Molinas and best atmosphere; Joe T's.

      Dos Molinas 💯 percent, best steakhouse ? I don’t go there for steak, Silver Fox on University is the Best Steak House; the only other one I would go to is Bob’s Steaks and Chops Grapevine; not the one in downtown Fort Worth, not as good
