Hello Sean. Thank you for the outstanding review between the GoPro 12 and DJI Action 4. You nailed your opening and closing shots in the video, which is totally awesome!
I have both these cameras, and on video quality alone, I find them both to very good. But in almost every other way, I prefer the Action 4. Great side by side comparison, in the somewhat overcast lighting you were shooting in, the white balance and colors looked better on Action 4. And when using the DJI Mic 2 with the Action 4, you can now capturn good audio in almost all situations. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Ron. The one thing I wish I could do on the action is custom list of as many named presets as I want to make up. You can sorta do it but not in an intuitive and easy stand alone menu set up. Unless I missed a second way to do it.
The GoPro's colour looks better on that (mostly) overcast day, but everything else about the DJI seems to have it beat. Why are the choices never easy? #TillTheEnd
right, there are good points to each one so it for sure makes the choices harder. to me the snow looked a bit yellow on the gopro for some reason. might have been because of the cloud coverage. i went out a few days to film this but it just kept snowing. lol not a bad problem but it prevented getting the blue sky shots i wanted!
I think I prefer the Action 4 colours, seemed more natural. It’s a good sign that the Avata2 rumours say it’s the same camera sensor.. cos that thing is going to be very decent if so.
@@SeanOzz Yeah sounding like it’s that camera, better power to weight ratio + flight characteristics and also quieter. The f**kers have got me again with legit upgrades.
@@SeanOzz Yeah I’ll believe that when I see it, but nicer flying in acro just in general will be good. It’s not like the other one is bad, it’s still fun, just could be better. I’ll be using it tomorrow for another fly through, a tricky one. Kinda wish the new one was already here 😂
Good video comparison, The DJI video footage looked better to me, I would have liked to of heard more of the Action 4 internal mic, the DJI v2 mic would probably have worked better closer to your face. I own an Action 3, it has over heated a few times on a hot day, most of the heat is created by the battery getting too hot. My solution is to simply change the battery at a convenient point, before it forces shut down. The cool battery solves the problem, and if safe to do so, I leave the battery compartment door open to let heat out. Obviously this can’t be done if in a wet/damp environment. I have tried plug in mic’s with my DJI v1 mics, like what tv people use, instead of bulky DJI near on my collar. Audio seems ok. 👍🇬🇧
There’s a good wind comparison at a later point in this video I think I have a marked in the description. it’s got the internal mic versus the Mic 2. I have a standalone video on new mic 2 releasing tomorrow as well.

Thanks. I had to rewatch. I forgot what they were. Lol

@@SeanOzz Not that I know of. The Hero 12 does have the advantage with the Presets.

I’ve heard that as well.

if it can fly 12 minutes in acro that will be pretty amazing.

There is currently only 1 king under the action camera and that is the insta360 ace pro.
Ace pro will be a separate video
Stay tuned.
This one is a GoPro and dji side by side. Enjoy.
