My thoughts on life long learning. Well, it's a MAJOR challenge but an essential one in order to calm the mind and our reactions. After 4 years of living in India I can honestly say that life long learning is difficult. Especially in terms of our responsiveness to internal politics and gender equality. On a daily basis I am learning to find my way though the forest with the difficulties of indian culture. Then I realise that changing focus is positive for example, there is an ample amount of cool stuff about indian culture too and i dive deep into that. Then I learn to take the rough with the smooth. And my responsiveness to the rough significantly declines and i learn about mind over matter. Sorry Hollie my comment is pretty deep!!! Hope you are well dear ❤❤❤❤❤❤
There's a saying "When the student is ready, the teacher appears". One could say the same about your videos Holly. They are learning journeys for us to reflect upon and put into practice as we continue to build on our minimalist lifestyles. Well done.
Thank you so much Stefan really appreciate that! 🫶 I love the quote you've shared too, I don't think it could sum up this concept more perfectly! Appreciate you being here and sharing your wisdom with myself and this community too! ☺️
Thank you for watching!☺️ I’m going to do a more in depth video about overcoming perfectionism too as it’s something I’ve faced my own challenges with! But some little tips have helped me combat this feeling I think may be helpful!🫶✨
As a college professor, I learn a lot about life from the discussions that I have with my students. It has made me listen more and be humble. Being a 'student of life' 😅, there's a lot I have got to learn. I definitely agree with you when you say being open to learning. I resonate with that a lot. Nice video!😊
I love that! I think that's one thing we don't realise is that there's alway something to learn from others no matter where they may be at in life! What a great privilege to be in a position where that happens almost every day! ☺ Thank you for watching ✨
I guess the hardest thing to master is the thought that life is a journey because we as humans often want to achieve the biggest dopamine right then and there. Whatever you do day to day and learn is the point and ”salt” of it all. When you’ve completed a project, it feels great for a moment (the rush) and then it flees, like you said in the video.
I totally agree with you and it's a trap many of us fall into! But I agree the best part by far is learning to enjoy the process and the experience we have along the way ☺ Thanks for watching!
Great video Holly! I discovered your channel earlier this week & love your perspective on things. This really spoke to me, I've been feeling really stuck lately and desperately needing something new & a change. This lead me earlier this week to looking into evening courses to build on my knowledge of art. I would also call myself a jack of all trades - I love learning new skills mainly creative things, art, sewing, baking ect. I think of all things thought I need to learn to slow down & be patience & stop being such a perfectionist!
Thank you very much Susan and welcome to the community! 🫶 I'm so pleased you've found some of these ideas beneficial too! I admire your mindset and outlook, so nice to connect with a fellow creative mind! ✨ Wishing you all the best ☺️
Thanks for publishing this video, Holly. Of course! I yearn to learn something new everyday. Yes, patience is a virtue - delayed gratification. Enjoy your the rest of your day!
This was such an insightful video! Accepting I can't not be the best in everything has been the best mindset shift I've done in my life. It's okay to live a simple "boring" life. Sometimes mundane moments bring me more joy than any big achievements in my life.
Holly you are the most beautiful happy go lucky person I’ve ever seen just watching you laugh and smile your personality is nothing less than the most beautiful summer day ….thank you so much for another wonderful video and that bread looks so good…and you are right in my perspective ….perfection is a master at creating the illusion of chasing and chasing a destination so that one day we will finally have what we need to be happy or successful….. and then the day comes that we realize we missed the whole point of the journey and never took the time to enjoy each and every moment it….life is way too short to be chasing fools gold……
Thank you for your lovely words Andy! ☺ So glad you enjoyed this! I totally agree, it can be an endless cycle if we're not careful and run the risk of missing the most precious moment of all, the journey and time we have now! Wishing you all the best and thanks for your support as always! 🫶
@@lagomholly your so welcome 🙏 Holly have a great weekend and let me know when you’re cooking 🧑🍳 again 🥳…oh I am going to be brave and try to make a pot roast with all the vegetables and mashed potatoes too I just have to do a little more research…
Great video Holly :-) I find the best way to become really good at something is to fail over and over again at it, and then each new following approach is a more refined one, because I learn what not to do. No one admires a construction site, but they admire the finished building. That's how I see myself, I'm not there yet, but I'm a work in progress, under construction. Comparison is a real killer too, because we compare our construction sites to other people's finished buildings, when really they may just be further along their journey. It's not one giant step at a time we make progress, but little by little, and one day at a time :-)
I love that mindset Stephen and the analogy you've used there which couldn't be more fitting 😊 I totally agree though, you never failed when you accumulate new knowledge and experiences. It's a perspective that's difficult to comprehend at times but it makes failure impossible when you look at things this way. It's actually the failures that make us stronger, wiser and better off in the end the majority of the time too! It's better to be a working progress than not at all and I have no doubt what you're building is something rather spectacular as it stands! ☺️ Thank you for watching! ✨
@lagomholly Awww thank you lovely Holly :-) failure is inevitable, but you're right the good, the bad, and even the ugly experiences make us wiser and stronger. Yes I agree it's better to be moving forward than to do nothing at all, I think we only truly fail when we don't even try. Thank you so much! I think what you've built with this RUclips channel and continue to build with it, is truly beautiful too :-)
Holly, your infinite growth mindset is remarkable and so is your continuous appreciation for the gifts. With your attitude, the world is your playground and you’ll never run out of things to grow in. And even in the afterlife, there is still more to grow in because our God is infinite.
Thank you! I couldn't agree more with that mindset, the opportunities for growth and learning are endless ☺️ It's certainly what makes life very special indeed 🫶 ✨
Awesome video, Holly! Your bread looks amazing. I did a screen taste test, and I can confirm it's really delicious! By the way, I feel stuck all the time, you know, and time is always against me. 24/7 doesn't seem enough. But it's definitely interesting that even some small choices can have a pretty big impact in the long run. Have a nice day! Greetings to the UK!
Thank you for watching Harry, I'm glad it passed the test! 😃 I know what you mean and think it's perfectly normal to feel that way at times, but I do believe too it all adds up to something greater in the long run! Greetings to you too ☺ ✨
My dedicated path of improving and learning is that of self improvement and trying to become the best version of myself, I enjoy reading psychology and philosophy, leading me to a better understanding of how to process my everyday emotions and thoughts. 💙
I love that mindset and very much resonate with you! Philosophy and psychology really do change our perspective on so many things and have been a source of both understanding and comfort in my life too ☺️ ✨
What I tjink is interesting is that sometimes the way to become great, is to stop trying to achieve perfection and just keep progressing and doing as you state in this video. That the "masterpieces" will come in those moments where you are st ease ans creating in an organic way. That maybe you'll spend so much time practicing, until one day uou'll start having tremendous skill, but you won't even realize it.
I love that perspective and idea thank you for sharing! I think you’ve really hit the nail on the end that it’s the surprise of becoming a “master” unintentionally that is the most rewarding, just through the perseverance and willingness to keep learning!✨ Thank you for watching☺️
Are you planning to self-publish a cookbook at some point? I get its not the main point of your channel, but I think it could do well. Or integrate the two, a mindset quote / paragraph of thoughts on one half the page and a somewhat related recipe on the other?
That's super nice to say and a great suggestion thank you! ☺ I would love to do something like that, especially combining philosophy with simple/healthy living like in my videos! It's something to work towards one day for sure ✨
What are your thoughts on lifelong learning?😃
Rye Roll Recipe is in the description too! Let me know if you give them a try 😋✨
