Lighten up Francis. The slide says 30S. The frame says SF. Regardless, it is quite possibly the best EDC pistol known to man. It fits your hand in a very similar fashion as the Glock 19 does. And to better the deal, 11 rounds of 230gr HP ammo is a fantastic EDC solution.

I've got a 30sf and love it. I have had trouble carrying it concealed. My belly stayed the same size but over the years my butt got smaller. If I get my belt tight enough to keep my pants up it cuts the circulation off to my legs. Not really but close. If I could find a good way to carry it I'd carry it every day.

I just bought that same gun. I love it but it's very snappy compared to 9mm. I have a flinch that I working on. When I can shoot it better I will carry it.
The only time that I have experienced that with mine has been with the Fort Scott munitions. However, that round was designed to tumble on impact. Browse through this: firearmshistory.blogspot.com/2015/03/what-is-keyholing.html
If you compare it with the original G 30 the difference is that the slide is wider as well as the frame is longer the S and Sf is a factory upgrade I think. Pray that you never have to use it as a shield against those that would want to harm you.

My EDC since 2013. Fantastic “hammer” of a little pistol. Interestingly, I just inspected mine, and the frame is marked SF in a different location than the one in the vid...mine is marked by the slide lock.
Beautiful choices I would like to have that set up…. I’m sort of moving away from the 9…. With in 25 to 50 yards, it’s application compared to the 9 is bar non specially in these days where ammo can become scarce…. If you can only find ball ammo, I rather have a 40 or 45….
The Glock G30S is an excellent EDC chambered in a very efficient caliber. It’s an excellent choice for either men or women. I have trained with the G30S and the G36 and I feel that the G30S is the best choice for me though the G36 is an excellent EDC also.
I have a 30SF. I used to carry it every day, but as I age, I’ve downgraded to a model 27 in .40, and now to a Springfield Hellcat in 9mm, for overall weight issues....
So I got my 30S a couple of weeks ago. Two trips to the range...multiple FTF's with 3 different factory mags and 3 different brands of new factory ammo (FMJ and JHP). I had read on a few message boards that the recoil spring assembly might be the issue so I called customer service and they sent me a replacement which did not fix the problem. Another posting said it was a design flaw with this model. Could it be the slim slide on the regular 30 frame? This is my 4th Glock pistol...the others were all 9mm and all flawless performance. Any suggestions or similar experiences?
I never looked into it because this is the first time I hear of this problem. Mine has been flawless. Actually I’ve never experienced any problems with any of my 45 ACP Glocks. Have you reached out to Glock and talk to them about sending the pistol in for evaluation? It is my daily carry so I shoot it often and like I said, it’s been 100% reliable with any ammo for through it. Let me know how it turns out please. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo Thanks for your reply. I did my research before buying (including your review) and the overall consensus was that this is a really good choice for concealed carry. I may have just gotten a lemon. I emailed Glock but have not heard back yet. I'll let you know how it turns out.
@@hugostiglitz9864 I would call their customer service line and explain what’s going on. They are pretty good about customer service. Please let me know how it turns out.
@@MDpolo Just got the pistol back. They said they replaced the slide lock spring and the spring load bearing because they were worn. Not sure how they could be worn on a brand new pistol but they said they put 80 - 100 rounds of various types of HP and FMJ ammo through it and they said it did not malfunction. I hope they are right. Thanks for your input.
Hi, good video. Yes, I have one, never noticed the “SF” on the other side of the pistol. Good knowledge. I changed the trigger bar to 3.5 which helps with better trigger control. I suggest anyone who carries as their CCW. To practice a lot. This gun is a beast and if you don’t have a firm grip on it and use basic sight principles, you will probably miss the bullseye mark but with 45ACP caliber, you will stop the threat
I carry it and my Hk's for work. The 30S is extremely versatile. IWB OWB etc. And can switch between 9, 10, 13 rd mags wX-Grip sleeves. My needs were to have something sub-compact. 10 rds standard. Fit holsters. Used the Glock Blue Label Program. Approx. $515 OTD.
The 9 shot magazine is a flush fit magazine that doesn't protrude beyond the bottom of the gun like the one you are using in this video. Now you understand.
03/01/21 - My two carry pistols are the Glock 30S and the Glock 26. I find the recoil of the Glock 30S to be very soft for the size of the firearm and caliber. Even though the Glock 30S comes with two 10 round magazines, I find it extremely hard to load 10 rounds into the magazine. For a variety of reasons, I only carry 9 rounds in the 10 round magazine for both the Glock 30S and Glock 26. Ballistic data for the Glock 30S (45 acp) and Glock 26 (9mm) are very similar: 45 acp 230 grain bullet - 835 fps and 356 ft lbs / 9mm 124 grain bullet - 1,1150 fps and 364 ft lbs / 45 acp 230 grain bullet +P 920 fps and 423 ft lbs / 9 mm 124 grain bullet +P 1,225 fps and 413 ft lbs. Size the ballistic data is similar, a lot of individuals prefer to carry a 9mm. However, I prefer carrying the Glock 30S for two reasons: (1) I like the size of the Glock 30S over the Glock 26 since the firearm is a slightly larger and falls in size between the Glock 26 and Glock 19 and (2) I prefer the 45 acp round over the 9mm round if I am limited to carrying a firearm with a magazine which holds only 10 rounds. Virginia does not have a limitation on magazine size (number of rounds magazine can hold) at the current time; however, there is some discussions ongoing in Virginia about limiting magazine capacity size to 10 rounds in the future.
You don’t see them very often but they were out there. I saw a few on Gun Broker. I got mine by posting a “want to buy“ on one of my local gun boards. Just got lucky I guess. But they’re out there. Thank you for watching.
Its not simply a 36 slide on a sf frame. The 30S is slightly more dense metal, allowing more durability for the professional use it was intended for. Being slimmer doesnt mean that it is weaker. The material used is of higher quality than its predecessors 30/30SF Gen3.
@@cluckbent6466 can't remember where I read it. But from what I remember the improvement gave Glock the confidence on creating the 357sig line of firearms which were higher pressures and more recoil than the previous models. Next came the long slide, yet light weight 9mm models, then the slimmer 36, the GAP series which are naturally 45auto+p in small frames, after which came the slimmer line 40, 41 and so on.
Im in the firearms training part of my ccw process and I need one more pistol to put on my ccw firearms list which I have an odg gen 3 Glock 19 and 26. Previously owning a gen 4 Glock 30 I shot well with and ended up selling the gen 3 would be a good last pistol for my list. From what I have read, The 30sf has a smaller frame but not sure if this has the slimmer slide of the single stack 36. Can anyone confirm this? Nvr mind just saw Gunsharleysusa’s comment 😅
With the Glock 30S 45 ACP this gun handles anything you feed it the other thing is each magazine is 10 shots some people have trouble they can only get nine shots out of it plus one in the chamber it's still beats a 1911 it's much lighter and half the price it's the same gun the SWAT team carries in the Los Angeles Police department you could look it up actually this gun was made for them now it's out in the public other police departments use it you don't even need a backup with one or two extra mags you have over 30 rounds a 45 ACP I give this gun five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯👍
Glock 30 gen4 is the same frame as the 30sf but has backstraps to make it bigger for guys with Sasquatch hands. Love the G30 & that fat slide makes it such a sweet shooter but also makes carrying it a bit uncomfortable . I carry it in a Wright leather IWB holster in the cooler months. May the Lord Jesus Bless you greatly .
The grip does not mandate that you put some kind of grip tape or talon grips , at least not for everyone. Some people want that and others do not. I have personally never had trouble or felt the need to change the grips on any glock model or generation. I know many people do , but not everyone.
It would probably be acceptable if it came with decent sights and trigger. Or at least sell it for $250 less than MSRP to allow the purchaser to immediately replace both of those items.
It is indicated in the video that the Glock 30S is the same width as the Glock 30. That is not exactly true. While the width of the body is the same, the slide is like the one used on a Glock 36 which is a single stack model and is much narrower than the Glock 30 model. This also reduces the weight. Both of these factors make the gun easier to carry concealed. However, the lighter slide also allows greater recoil to be felt. Finally, the Glock 30S being reviewed is not the same as a Glock 30SF which is a different model.
Have a gen3 model 30 that was also known as the "2.5". (Has no accessory rail) that I purchased in 1999. Used as a duty weapon for awhile and now carried as an EDC on occasion. Will become the primary carry if we have to go back to the 10 round or less crap. Regardless, probably the most accurate pistol out of the box I have owned. (CZ P07 giving it a run though!)
Good video. I'm thinking about adding the 30sf to my carry collection also. I didn't jump onto the Glock bandwagon until three years ago when I held a Glock 48. Loved the feel in my hand so I became a Glock guy for its variety of calibers, reliability and mostly its simplicity. I was once faced with a situation where I had to draw down on a thug. At that time my carry guns were Baretta M9 and Colt .45, all too heavy, cumbersome and external levers confusing me during a stressed situation. I sold them both, not for their inherent design, but because of my lack of concentration when I forgot about the safety being on. My bad, not the guns. That's why I love Glock's simplicity.
Frightening story, but it highlights an important aspect of not only the training involved with the firearm that we decide to carry, but the amount of training needed to use it correctly in a stressful situation. Thank you very much for stopping by.

I have one of these and have the following comments:
Every time I fire this it pinches my little finger where the mag fits into the frame. Ouch!
It is like carrying a block on my hip.
It is my least favorite Glock.....
Have you tried a belly band?
Outstanding video, I carry a Glock 19 daily but I'm really wanting to get one of those for my EDC.
I absolutely love it. Carry it daily in an The Armzmen holster. Thank you very much for watching!
FYI the Gen 4 is a SF w/out the additional back strap on
I've tried them all in G30 and this is the one im getting, had a G23 sold it. Love my p365x but want a little more punch. Going with the G30S and cant wait to carry it. Great review and thanks!
You’re very welcome. I love the 30 S. One of my best shooting Glocks. Thank you very much for watching.
The 9 plus 1 is flush and won’t pinch your hand if you experience it during shooting.
Thanks for the info and for watching!
Glock 30 is the .45 acp compact model. Glock 30S is basically a 30 with a 36 slide. 30SF is the "short frame" or reduced grip area version.
I’ve carried this gun for years I’ve tried the new micro guns but I don’t shoot as good as this Glock
I have a Glock 30 gen 4 that has been my EDC for about a year now (along with the 2 spare mags) I have also installed Triijcon Night sights on it. It is a bit on the heavy side though.
It is. Thank you very much for watching.
I just bought that same gun. I love it but it's very snappy compared to 9mm. I have a flinch that I working on. When I can shoot it better I will carry it.
Took my 30s to the range for the first time. I loaded it with PMC 230gr fmj. I see some of the rounds were keyholing. What would cause them to tumble?
The only time that I have experienced that with mine has been with the Fort Scott munitions. However, that round was designed to tumble on impact. Browse through this: firearmshistory.blogspot.com/2015/03/what-is-keyholing.html
Hey So when this gun was purchased what does receipt indicate
30 s or
30 sf ?
Well, I found the receipt, but it’s printed on thermal paper and it has faded. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by
If you compare it with the original G 30 the difference is that the slide is wider as well as the frame is longer the S and Sf is a factory upgrade I think.
Pray that you never have to use it as a shield against those that would want to harm you.
Thank you very much. I pray for the same. Thank you for stopping by.
I got the glock 30sf about a year ago it is my edc great accuracy comfortable to carry
I really like it as well. I think Glocks are more accurate in 45 ACP then in 9 mm. At least out of the box. Thank you very much for watching.
The 9 round magazine just gives a better concealability for concealed carry
I don't carry my Glock 30 very often, but it is very accurate and the one I do keep next to the bed for first responding.
Good choice sir. Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate it.
That double stack thickness pinky placement and textured grip MAKES THE RECOIL MANAGEABLE.😛
Great video. I have had mine since 1998. Love this pistol. I run Buffalo bore 255 gr. + P hard cast when in Bear country. I installed Trijicon tritium sights on mine.
Thank you very much! For sure it is on my top two favorite Glocks.
Just purchased the Glock 30s. Its an awesome pistol. Glock precision , 45 cal and ten rounds with an option for 13 rounds.
Justin Opinion channel released a video yesterday I believe about this pistol and called it “the hammer of the gods“. If you love this pistol, you need to watch that video. Thank you for watching!
I love mine. I carried it for many months after I bought it and got used to it, but my 19 with an OEM +2 means 7 more bullets and lighter recoil wins out. I will say this. If you are a Glocktard like I am, having the 21, 30, and 41 is the perfecta of trifectas of Blocks. 😉
Try and find one?
I love my G30 gen4 even though it has a Fat slide that makes it a bit harder to carry but what a Sweet Shooter! Amen . The Lord Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd & my Refuge in these very trying times. May God bless you Brother 🙏.
Thank you very much for watching and God bless you as well.
I’d rather have a god then a handgun. U have a god yet u still have a handgun…. Interesting. Oh I see ur god is imaginary
The only thing that I can say to a comment like yours is God bless you.
@@MDpolo Thank you. Sometimes people attempt to anger us or degrade our Faith & my first impulse used to be retaliation but I Thank GOD I'm able to Forgive my enemies now & pray GOD has Mercy on them. God Bless.
Is this a religion revival or a fun channel. Stay in your lane. Kinda disingenuous to invoke God on the comments when it's about guns? If you don't see that well takes all kinds. I'm out of here.
My EDC since 2013. Fantastic “hammer” of a little pistol. Interestingly, I just inspected mine, and the frame is marked SF in a different location than the one in the vid...mine is marked by the slide lock.
That is interesting. I have never seen that on that location. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Great review md!
Thank you very much Roy. I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Beautiful choices I would like to have that set up….
I’m sort of moving away from the 9….
With in 25 to 50 yards, it’s application compared to the 9 is bar non specially in these days where ammo can become scarce…. If you can only find ball ammo, I rather have a 40 or 45….
Very good point to bring up. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Is the recoil from the 30s more noticeable than the 30?
@JS2000 I don’t believe so. At least not for me. Thank you for watching!
This is a great pistol for conceal carry.
The Glock G30S is an excellent EDC chambered in a very efficient caliber.
It’s an excellent choice for either men or women. I have trained with the G30S and the G36 and I feel that the G30S is the best choice for me though the G36 is an excellent EDC also.
Thank you very much for your comment. I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Actually, the gun that you're reviewing is the Glock 30S. The G30 SF and the G30 S are two different guns.
Yes. I miss spoke. Thank you for stopping by.
I have a 30SF. I used to carry it every day, but as I age, I’ve downgraded to a model 27 in .40, and now to a Springfield Hellcat in 9mm, for overall weight issues....
I understand that. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@hugostiglitz9864 you are very welcome. I hope it is fixed. In my experience Glock is very good at this. Please let me know how it turns out!
Thank you very much for your comment and for watching.
I feel like I don"t need another gun when i put my 30s on
I agree. Thank you for watching!
Approx. $515 OTD.
It is very versatile. Totally agree with you. Which HK do you carry? Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo P2000 9mm. Mileage is 17000 rds. Hk P30sk sometimes.
Nice.
The 9 shot magazine is a flush fit magazine that doesn't protrude beyond the bottom of the gun like the one you are using in this video. Now you understand.
Thank you for the education.
Thank you very much for all the data and for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it!
If you don’t mind me asking what holster do you use
+Naptown JD my three go to holsters are: Phalanx Concealment, Harry’s Holsters and Vedder Holsters. Thanks for watching!
I love my G30SF! Offers you both concealment and the power of .45 caliber. Keeps me safe all the time. ❤❤❤
It is pretty awesome. Thank you for stopping by.
I plan on trading my XD 45acp for this.
Sounds like a good plan. Thank you very much for watching.
I got the 21sf. Really wanna get 30s as my carry
It’s been my daily carry since I filmed this video. Thank you very much for watching.
Waiting for the Gen 5 to come out in 45 and 10mm then I will grab one
It would be nice if I could find one!
You don’t see them very often but they were out there. I saw a few on Gun Broker. I got mine by posting a “want to buy“ on one of my local gun boards. Just got lucky I guess. But they’re out there. Thank you for watching.
My everyday carry
Its not simply a 36 slide on a sf frame. The 30S is slightly more dense metal, allowing more durability for the professional use it was intended for. Being slimmer doesnt mean that it is weaker. The material used is of higher quality than its predecessors 30/30SF Gen3.
Thanks for the info and for taking the time to watch.
got proof on this?
@@cluckbent6466 can't remember where I read it. But from what I remember the improvement gave Glock the confidence on creating the 357sig line of firearms which were higher pressures and more recoil than the previous models. Next came the long slide, yet light weight 9mm models, then the slimmer 36, the GAP series which are naturally 45auto+p in small frames, after which came the slimmer line 40, 41 and so on.
Took mine out on a date last night we had a great time! Lol
Awesome! Thank you very much for watching.
Light, concealable and launches tunnel makers
With the Glock 30S 45 ACP this gun handles anything you feed it the other thing is each magazine is 10 shots some people have trouble they can only get nine shots out of it plus one in the chamber it's still beats a 1911 it's much lighter and half the price it's the same gun the SWAT team carries in the Los Angeles Police department you could look it up actually this gun was made for them now it's out in the public other police departments use it you don't even need a backup with one or two extra mags you have over 30 rounds a 45 ACP I give this gun five stars
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯👍
It is pretty outstanding. Thank you very much for the info and for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it.
the 30S now comes in Gen5
I have not seen one of my local gun shop but I’m looking forward to it. Thank you for stopping by.
They are pretty awesome pistols to carry around. Thank you very much for watching and may God bless you as well.
I carry one of these
Took me a while to hunt for it
Got it before the pandemic
I carry two spare mags
One of them is a Glock 21 mag
Yeah, they’re pretty impossible to find right now. Fantastic pistols. Thank you for watching.
Nice iron sights!
Thanks 👍
My favorite Glock of all time !!! ❤️❤️❤️
It’s on my top two Glocks for sure. Thank you very much for stopping by.
@@MDpolo you’re welcome
This will be my EDC
A very good choice. Thank you for watching.
The grip does not mandate that you put some kind of grip tape or talon grips , at least not for everyone. Some people want that and others do not. I have personally never had trouble or felt the need to change the grips on any glock model or generation. I know many people do , but not everyone.
I agree. It is all personal preference. Thank you very much for stopping by.
If they go back to 10 round magazine caps, I will probably go back to my 45
I have the G30 and and an HK 45. Guess which one shoots more softly? Yup, the baby Glock. Both shoot more softly than a 1911.
It would probably be acceptable if it came with decent sights and trigger. Or at least sell it for $250 less than MSRP to allow the purchaser to immediately replace both of those items.
+The Busterdog indeed sir. Thank you for watching!
You are correct. When I mentioned SF, I was referring to the grip module. Thank you very much for watching.
I carry my 30s everyday! 10+1 and a 26 rd mag in the glove box. Perfection
It is an awesome pistol. Thank you very much for watching.
Try the Glock 21 mag. They fit. I carry 3 of them. I then have 40 rounds of .45 acp for social work. If you shoot more than that, you will be on TV!
😄
I keep the Glock 21 mag in my 30s 12 rds
I love mine
Have a gen3 model 30 that was also known as the "2.5". (Has no accessory rail) that I purchased in 1999. Used as a duty weapon for awhile and now carried as an EDC on occasion. Will become the primary carry if we have to go back to the 10 round or less crap. Regardless, probably the most accurate pistol out of the box I have owned. (CZ P07 giving it a run though!)
The G30s and CZ P07 - two of my favorite pistols. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.
What talon grips do you have and where can I order.
The regular rubber grips. You can order directly from Talon Grips.
Yes with a limited IQ you never want to buy a pistol smarter than yourself. Stick to your "simple Glocks"...
@@MDpolo I couldn't have said it better.
I want this. Glock this. Should be perfect everyday carry gun for me. .
Just saw one at the store while I was getting ammo for my Glock 29
Praying for our country and world🙏🏻
Amen 🙏
Bro how many times you call it a 30sf? It’s a 30s(slim slide&short frame)…30sf is(short frame)
Thank you. I got it and misspoke.
