Ryan Reynolds is also a huge Deadpool nerd he’s read most of the comics. So this is the most accurate big screen adaptation we’ll ever get. He had almost full sway in the way the character was portrayed.
"What if papa wants to shit on your chest?" Fun fact, that was exactly what was supposed to happen in the first version of the script for the holiday montage, on Easter, but they decided to leave it out for some reason. "Negasonic Teenage Warhead" was, in fact, a song name. The character was named after it and appeared in literally one comic book. She had psychic powers, these ones here are more like Cannonball's powers. I love the unbelievable amount of references and easter eggs they've been able to squeeze in, especially the more subtle ones. A couple of examples: all the names of Dead Pool participants on the chalkboard in Weasel's bar are references, every single one of them. Including Rob Liefield, the creator of Deadpool. I mean, his daddy made him do horrible things like wear a schoolgirl skirt in front of all the X-Men, so he killed Liefeld in one story arc later. Another interesting detail is the sheer amount of X crosses sprinkled in like every other scene. Around 26:27 there's literally like 10 of them present at once (even the song playing is "X gon' give it to ya" by DMX, so two right there), since Deadpool is technically part of the Weapon X program (it literally gave it to him) and is continuously pressured to join the X-Men. These are two different X's though, one is the Roman number 10 and the other one comes from Charles Xavier's initials. Most of the more meta easter eggs are viable because the entire movie is told to us by Deadpool, so the "untrustworty narrator" technique is at play. Sometimes he even messes up his storytelling by making non-aware characters say meta lines like "might further the plot" or by having meta references in the flashbacks. Even what would otherwise be a cinema sin like the scene where he cuts his hand off and lands into a garbage truck, where he does different flips both times, makes sense since he's showing off without a slightest care about the consistency. This movie is amazing, honestly
Fun fact: The segment at the end where Deadpool leaves the guns in the car was not originally in the script, but the team was unaware that the budget given for this film included the advertising and marketing AS WELL as the actual production budget.... And they weren't aware of it until they got to that day of shooting. So they instead nixxed the big huge explosions and gunfire etc and just opted for what we see in the movie. lol.
Best part is it's from an interview so it's all confirmed true info lol. I love both movies ,the second one is soooo good but the first deadpool is the stuff of legend. This movie is the shit, and it easily still holds up today as a top notch R rated comic adaptation
Ryan Reynolds IS Deadpool for me now, as much as Hugh Jackman is Wolverine. He really was the perfect cast and I'm glad he's helped point the IP in the right direction.
There are some guys who just make the role theirs. Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Henry Cavill as Geralt, the Lord of the Rings cast in their roles, Robert Downey as Iron Man, well most of the original Marvel cast at that, and so on. I can’t see anyone else in their places.
Ryan Reynolds is perfect for Deadpool but Hugh Jackman is only really great as Wolverine. He doesn't portray the same level of wisdom, rage, experience, focus, or have the build, but still does great. That's not perfect. There could be another eventually to better match.
Ryan Reynolds is perfect for Deadpool but Hugh Jackman is only really great as Wolverine. He doesn't portray the same level of wisdom, rage, experience, or have the build, but still does great. That's not perfect. There could be another eventually to better match.
Actually is canon in Deadpool Comics that Deadpool was comparing himself to Ryan Reynolds and always wanted him to play him So they were just following the lore
@@LoneSilverW0lf When it comes to the Marvel cast, for me it's just RDJ and SamJackson if we're gonna be real, in terms of authenticity to the characters. Maybe add Chris Pratt as well, since his version of the character can be said to be even more preferable than the comic counterpart.
So Negasonic Teenage Warhead isn't a band, but it IS a song. In the comics, she named herself that because she's a fan of the band Monster Magnet. In the movie, I'm guessing she went with it becauseof her powers.
25:25 A Cockroach can live for a week without its head. Due to their open circulatory system, and the fact that they breathe through little holes in each of their body segments, they are not dependent on the mouth or head to breathe. The roach only dies because without a mouth, it can't drink water and dies of thirst.
In case you were wondering, that credits scene with Deadpool in the bath robe was a Ferris Beuler reference. If you haven’t seen that movie, HIGHLY recommend watching it! It’s a classic and it’s so fun!
It’s not mentioned in the movie, but the 4th wall breaking kind of meta jokes and comments are actually a huge part of Deadpool’s powers. He’s one of the only characters (next to She Hulk) that is able to do that. It’s so overpowered, that in the comics he actually skips frames and pages and even asks the writers to change the script for his advantage. Also, his healing factor is not the same as wolverine’s.
Yea, iirc for Wade here, it's not so much that his cancer was cured as it is his entire body kinda became the tumor. And thinking on it, I think Wade's power is actually the 4th wall breaking.
There are few actors who pull off dry comedy as well as Ryan Reynolds. From the very first time we ever saw him as Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine I had been dying for him to reprise the role, and he did not fucking disappoint.
I watched it 4 times too, and first 2 was at the same day (because I saw a sign 'Superhero Presentation' at the evening screening, so I went to it just to find out some guy was calling audience up the scene and asked them to pose as a superhero and have the audience to get who this is).

5:12 it's actually very normal for highly trained military personnel to count bullets of themselves and enemies, even for full-auto weapons. Knowing when your opponent is reloading gives you good openings, and knowing when you have to reload helps you prepare for it and reload faster
Hehe funny about one of those last lines when he said "Your friendly neighborhood Pool-guy" was obviously a Spider-Man reference. In the comics Deadpool is also a massive fan of Spider-Man, they have a kind of bro-mance thing going on haha!
My favorite detail that everyone I know missed... Th entire time Deadpool was looking for Francis he of coursed asked people... "Where's Francis?" Nobody knew him as Francis. Everyone knew him as Ajax... They literally had no idea what he was talking about 🤣
Another fun fact, and an indicator of just how much Ryan Reynolds was committed to doing Deadpool right. In the comics, DP is a huge fan of Bea Arthur (Golden Girls TV show) and Reynolds approached her estate in person to request that he could wear a T-shirt with her image in a scene. They agreed to his donating $10,000 of his own money to charity for the rights to do so.
He could easily be one of Deadpool's voices from when he's more unhinged in comics and other stuff lol, with Nolan North being the other one of course.
The most interesting thing about Wade's mutation is that he NEEDS the cancer to survive. The mutation works so fast that he would otherwise die in less than a minute.
There are 3 versions of Deadpool 2. Obviously Deadpool 2 (theatrical cut) and the Unrated version also called The Super Duper Cut. Then there's the one called 'Once Upon a Deadpool'. This version pays homage to the movie 'The Princess Bride'. It has Deadpool telling the entire story of DP2 to Fred Savage, the kid from the Princess Bride movie, who he has kidnapped and tied to a bed in the exact same looking room from The Princess Bride. This version is a PG-13 version that was toned down for younger audiences but also includes deleted scenes. Many of which can also be found in the Super Duper Cut.
I get a huge kick out of the part where Deadpool says "Wait!! You're probably wondering why the red suit? Well, that's so bad guys don't see me bleed. This guy's got the right idea, he wore the brown pants." 😅🤣 I swear, Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. He nailed the character so damn well that we forgot about the atrocity that was the Green Lantern movie.
SUCH an ICON. Always making you smile or laugh, with such witty and powerful remarks. From the wardrobe to the music, it is impossible to say how much she impacted the world. Rest in Peace, Sinead O'Connor...
Great job Alex. Glad you enjoyed this one. I know Ryan Reynolds went thru a ton of shit to get this made. I think deadpool was written with Ryan Reynolds in mind when it came to his dialog. Deadpool debuted in 95.
Before Ajax was a cleaning product, Alex, he was a hero from Greek mythology, second only to Achilles on the Greek side of the Trojan War. Tyler Mane, the guy who played Sabertooth in X-Men, portrayed Ajax in the movie Troy.
13:16 "Lets go talk to the Professor" "McAvoy or Steward?" lmao.... referencing the last names of the two actors who played Professor Xavier in the X-men movies. That joke went by kinda fast so some people might not pick it up

Dude, I've been watching your Chanel for years now, and my anxiety stopped me from commenting, but, i'm feeling brave today. 😂😂😂 I've really enjoyed watching your marvel reactions! Watching your deadpool reaction was hysterical! You humor matching Deadpool's made it even better 😂😂😂😂
This is exactly what we all needed. And great seeing you have such a blast with this. Also you didn't have to say that much because he already said stuff you would've wanted to say 😂
Funny story from an interview: Blake Lively (Reynolds' wife) flies a lot with her kids and for the couple of years after this movie came out, everyone on the plane would be watching Deadpool. So she was telling Jimmy Kimmel (or Fallon, one of the late night Jimmys) about how she was surrounded by a montage of her husband having sex and her kids (who were too little to know any better) kept pointing at the screens and shouting "Daddy!" So flying was a struggle for her for a few years 😅
You need to see "Logan" before you see DP2. Also, that end credit scene was a nod at one of the most famous end credit scenes(when they were very rare), before Marvel started doing them for nearly every movie, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".
"This movie is written so well." Ah, but there's the rub. Reynolds and T.J. Miller are well known for their improv ability. This movie is the perfect example of people that love the source material being given the chance to make their dreams happen. Also would like to point out that all three females in this movie kick ass.
If you don't upload the Deadpool 2 reaction within 7 days, NOBODY will ever be able to tickle your gooch again. Not even yourself. You and Deadpool are the perfect reaction combo. You didn't even need to come up with a 3rd as many dirty jokes because the movie was doing it for you lmfao. Great video, dying to see the next.
There's no better superhero than Deadpool BUT if Ironman would ve allowed to swear that'd possibly be the only exception. Great reaction dude, I love Deadpool, fkn awesome sense of humor, great action
In Greek mythology, Ajax was the name of a hero from the Trojan War, as told in Homer's Iliad, renowned for his large stature and bravery. The dish soap was named after this hero as I suspect Francis was. The Deadpool end credit scene was a homage to the end credit scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. And...why was your bacon so limp and soggy?
Yeah, Deadpool definitely is the perfect superhero film for you. The only series where straight vulgarity just works and no one questions all the bad, dirty and sometimes tasteless jokes. It’s great. I knew I was going to have a great time with your reaction. 😄
The amount of moms running out of this movie with their kids was the best thing I've ever seen. They heard it was a superhero movie and brought their little ones. The weird thing was, they waited until the sex scene was over before leaving.
Now for the moment I've all been waiting for. I consider this movie to be the perfect film, because there is not one second of film that is wasted. Every second of this movie is unique, interesting, touching or funny and you can't wait to see more and more.
The end credit scene was from the movie," Ferris Buehler's Day Off." I really love Ryan Reynolds movies. He was in "Blade Trinity" and I thought it was the perfect role for him and then I saw "Just Friends" and began to realize that he makes the role perfect for him. You should react to those. You'll love them...guaranteed.
The irony (considering this is Deadpool, it was probably intentional) is that Stan Lee has no reason to cameo in this film since Deadpool is one of the few Marvel characters he didn't create (Rob Liefeld did), nor was he still occupying his role of Editor In Chief Emeritus at Marvel Comics when Deadpool debuted

They removed an epic A-ha song from it and just for that the theatrical version will always be better in my book!

Negasonic Teenage Warhead is the title of a Monster Magnet song, the 4th track on the "Dopes to Infinity" album. The guys over at Marvel thought it was a great name, so they stole it for a character. The character is actually incredibly obscure in the comics, which is how you know that Ryan Reynolds is a super fan.
So glad you finally reacted to this and enjoyed it so much! I also relate to the whole dark humor, thing. I tend to do that as well. When I was 15 I was diagnosed with cancer, a brain tumor. I was having headaches and went for a CT scan, and after the scan I was sitting in a hospital bed while my mom talked to the doctor. Then they finished talking and she started walking towards me. I saw that her eyes were red and puffy like she had been crying, and my first thought was literally “Oh! 10 bucks on brain tumor!” 🤣
I have mixed feelings on Colossus tbh. I think he's perfect for the Deadpool films, but he's not exactly what I hoped for in the X-Men tbch. The 3 main things I would personally like to see with Colossus are for him to: 1) be able to change back & form between his human & metal form 2) be in a relationship with Shadowcat 3) be able to do more serious storylines too. I'm not sure if I can picture the Deadpool version doing any of those things tbh - I feel like the Fox X-Men version (i.e. Daniel Cudmore) would've been a closer fit.
20:22 Ryan Reynolds is the perfect Deadpool tbh. He's easily one of the most talented, funniest and most attractive actors in Hollywood, and I love how all of his roles feel like they have a part of his own personality in them lol. I'd love to see Alex react to more of his films in the future i.e. R.I.P.D., Hitman's Bodyguard, the Proposal, etc.
The next Deadpool movie takes the biscuit in terms of breaking the fourth wall and it's all the more better for it, you'll love it. Your reaction to Logan will be brilliant too although it's more on the serious side.
Ahh Ryan really did do this movie Justice. I was sitting on the fence when I heard Ryan was campaigning to get Deadpool up and running for real after the fiasco that was the Wolverine movie. But when I saw the original "leaked" (I think we all know who leaked it to the public) footage I really was all for it. Then sitting in the cinema's and a slightly different version of that leaked footage caused half the cinema to roar with laughter at the intro. 2 and a 1/2 movies later and going into a 3rd movie very soon, none of them have let me down so far. Got to love that extremely dark, jet pitch black sense of humour that Deadpool has always had and Ryan lovingly adds to the movie as it should be done.
Me and the wife went to go see this on opening day. We didn’t know what to expect but I knew Deadpool wasn’t exactly PG. They were seven and eight year old kids there with their parents. I just shrugged like I hope you know what you’re doing. He and I hope they were scarred for life after the romp marathon.
People shouldn't blame TIM MILLER for the failure of "Terminator: Dark Fate" He was the director, not the writer Killing that one character was James Cameron's idea Miller deserves another chance because he still got a lot to offer He not only gave us DEADPOOL, but also SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, directed by his friend, Jeff Fowler Also, have anyone seen LOVE, DEATH and ROBOTS?
Actually, Ajax is the name of one of the heroes from Homer's The Illiad about the siege of Troy. He fought alongside Achilles and Hercules. That's also where the cleaning products took their name from.
This film does an *amazing* job of balancing comedy w/ serious moments. I love comedies, but sometimes they hv a habit of turning everything into a joke, to the point where you don't care about anything that happens. This film does a great job of making those emotional/ serious moments hit. I'm also glad we got to see plenty of Wade out of the suit during this film, especially because his relationship w/ Vanessa is so great. Plus, Ryan Reynolds is way too attractive & entertaining to be stuck in the suit the whole time lol.

Actually is canon in Deadpool Comics that Deadpool was comparing himself to Ryan Reynolds and always wanted him to play him
So they were just following the lore
@@LoneSilverW0lf When it comes to the Marvel cast, for me it's just RDJ and SamJackson if we're gonna be real, in terms of authenticity to the characters. Maybe add Chris Pratt as well, since his version of the character can be said to be even more preferable than the comic counterpart.
You're gonna have an absolute field day with these movies
I like your pfp

@@Jakeyisdead Thx
So Negasonic Teenage Warhead isn't a band, but it IS a song. In the comics, she named herself that because she's a fan of the band Monster Magnet. In the movie, I'm guessing she went with it becauseof her powers.
25:25 A Cockroach can live for a week without its head.
Due to their open circulatory system, and the fact that they breathe through little holes in each of their body segments, they are not dependent on the mouth or head to breathe. The roach only dies because without a mouth, it can't drink water and dies of thirst.
To be fair, Alex is basically the Deadpool of reactors.
I love this
Couldn't agree more
I concur.
Nailed it! 🛠
😆
@@alexhefnerstvmovievaultRyan Reynolds would be so proud he’d slap his own gooch.
In case you were wondering, that credits scene with Deadpool in the bath robe was a Ferris Beuler reference. If you haven’t seen that movie, HIGHLY recommend watching it! It’s a classic and it’s so fun!
Wasn't it one of the first movies to have an end credit scene?
@@DavidLenderTHE first!! Good catch!!
I concur..
@@DavidLenderThe Silencers (1966) was the first ever with an end credit scene. Ferris was the 29th I believe.
Not the first. But the most prominent ones. @@BillKrayer12thMan
Wow! Amazing
Yea, iirc for Wade here, it's not so much that his cancer was cured as it is his entire body kinda became the tumor.
And thinking on it, I think Wade's power is actually the 4th wall breaking.
You're right, it's weaker than wolverines at its true potential.
Fun fact, Francis threatening to sow his mouth shut is a reference to another X-Men movie that Ryan Reynolds plays in.
We don’t talk about that movie
There are few actors who pull off dry comedy as well as Ryan Reynolds. From the very first time we ever saw him as Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine I had been dying for him to reprise the role, and he did not fucking disappoint.
I had an unintentional smile this entire reaction. I watched this movie 4 times in theaters when it came out and it was just as good every time
I bet it was a crazy cool experience in theaters.
I watched it 4 times too, and first 2 was at the same day (because I saw a sign 'Superhero Presentation' at the evening screening, so I went to it just to find out some guy was calling audience up the scene and asked them to pose as a superhero and have the audience to get who this is).
@@Sa4ko93 am I missing the obvious? your sentence makes no sense to me
'some guy was calling audience up the scene and asked them to pose as a superhero and have the audience to get who this is'

@@parsonage123456789 The audience had to guess what superhero people on the scene were posing as.
@@alexhefnerstvmovievaultDon't forget that A Quiet Place: Day One released today in DVD/HD!
Personally believe it is the best A Quiet Place film, on par with the first film and the cast is amazing!
It includes Eddie Munson himself, Joseph Quinn who is our new Human Torch too!
5:12 it's actually very normal for highly trained military personnel to count bullets of themselves and enemies, even for full-auto weapons. Knowing when your opponent is reloading gives you good openings, and knowing when you have to reload helps you prepare for it and reload faster
So u say u can count full auto weapons bullet that too in battlefield..ofcourse
@@abishekrajpandey8691 No, he said trained military personnel can do that. Let off the strawman, he didn't do nothing.
Hehe funny about one of those last lines when he said "Your friendly neighborhood Pool-guy" was obviously a Spider-Man reference. In the comics Deadpool is also a massive fan of Spider-Man, they have a kind of bro-mance thing going on haha!
“Kind of” a bromance
My favorite detail that everyone I know missed... Th entire time Deadpool was looking for Francis he of coursed asked people... "Where's Francis?" Nobody knew him as Francis. Everyone knew him as Ajax... They literally had no idea what he was talking about 🤣
“Inhumane Torture” is probably the greatest Oxymoron I’ve ever heard in my life.
Yep. Basically the movie that was made specifically for you! In another life I could absolutely see Alex as Deadpool lol
He could easily be one of Deadpool's voices from when he's more unhinged in comics and other stuff lol, with Nolan North being the other one of course.
@@ivanagustinortiz5237my thoughts exactly! He’d obviously be the one always taking about gouchs and, based on the edit, bacon. 😂😂
In some weird universe Ryan Reynolds is watching Alex as Deadpool 🤯
The funny thing is that he’s looking for “Francis”, when none of his goons know that that’s his name.
I didn't even connect that lol, your so right!!
When Francis' told Wade to shut up or he'll sew his mouth shut, I believe that he actually did do so in one of the X-Men movies.
The end scene with the bathrobe was a throw back to Farris Buellers day off.
The most interesting thing about Wade's mutation is that he NEEDS the cancer to survive. The mutation works so fast that he would otherwise die in less than a minute.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REACTION SO MUCH OMG😭
For real!
Came to say this... Cleaned up first, but yeah been waiting so long 😂
Sameeeee
Here here!
Me toooooo! 😂❤
Oh my fucking God that is HILARIOUS!!
Oooh. I didn't know about the Once Upon a Deadpool version. Gotta check that out. Thanks!
I literally saw this 8 TIMES in theaters and at least 60 in total and it's still AMAZING! So glad you enjoyed it!
I get a huge kick out of the part where Deadpool says "Wait!! You're probably wondering why the red suit? Well, that's so bad guys don't see me bleed. This guy's got the right idea, he wore the brown pants." 😅🤣
I swear, Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. He nailed the character so damn well that we forgot about the atrocity that was the Green Lantern movie.
"Don't make the super suit green...or animated!"

Great job Alex. Glad you enjoyed this one. I know Ryan Reynolds went thru a ton of shit to get this made. I think deadpool was written with Ryan Reynolds in mind when it came to his dialog. Deadpool debuted in 95.
Yeah in the comics Deadpool even mentions he looks like Ryan Reynolds crossed with a shar-pei
I could've sworn he was introduced in 1991
You're right. Feb 1991. @@moviemetalhead
Yeah he first appeared in New Mutants 98 that came out in 1991
Since it was co-wrote by Reynolds I'd say yeah, it was written just for him
Before Ajax was a cleaning product, Alex, he was a hero from Greek mythology, second only to Achilles on the Greek side of the Trojan War. Tyler Mane, the guy who played Sabertooth in X-Men, portrayed Ajax in the movie Troy.
I love that they did the "Ferris Bueller´s day off" reference at 34:20
13:16 "Lets go talk to the Professor" "McAvoy or Steward?" lmao.... referencing the last names of the two actors who played Professor Xavier in the X-men movies. That joke went by kinda fast so some people might not pick it up

I've really enjoyed watching your marvel reactions!
Ryan Reynolds was perfect for this role. I absolutely loved your reaction. You were so in your element lol
So glad you liked it! ❤😂
He is great in movies about supers. As long as the suit isn't green or animated.
"This movie is written so well." Ah, but there's the rub. Reynolds and T.J. Miller are well known for their improv ability. This movie is the perfect example of people that love the source material being given the chance to make their dreams happen.
Also would like to point out that all three females in this movie kick ass.

He's doing the X-Men movies in release order. I think that puts X-Men Apocalypse next.
I love how they had a nice "little" nod to the MCU with the Helicarrier at the end .

There's no better superhero than Deadpool BUT if Ironman would ve allowed to swear that'd possibly be the only exception.
Great reaction dude, I love Deadpool, fkn awesome sense of humor, great action
See the thing about Deadpool is, making him immortal didn't cure his cancer...his whole body became one big tumor. He IS cancer, literally.
That scene when he's in the doctors room, that hit hard and put me in tears, it was just a perfect way of explaining shock.
Not only that, the story line of this movie is actually pretty simple, which is maybe why is so easy to watch for R rated movie

The 3 main things I would personally like to see with Colossus are for him to:
1) be able to change back & form between his human & metal form
2) be in a relationship with Shadowcat
3) be able to do more serious storylines too.
As much as I love this movie, the second is so much more fun... and of course, emotional.
Today I feel overwhelmed... so this made my day... thank you
Ahh Ryan really did do this movie Justice.
1:13 so true

People shouldn't blame TIM MILLER for the failure of "Terminator: Dark Fate"
He was the director, not the writer
Killing that one character was James Cameron's idea
Miller deserves another chance because he still got a lot to offer
He not only gave us DEADPOOL, but also SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, directed by his friend, Jeff Fowler
Also, have anyone seen LOVE, DEATH and ROBOTS?

For Polaroids, you're supposed to let them develop in the dark. Shaking or too early of exposure to light can ruin the picture.
Old time you needed to shake them at the start cause the liquid was in 1 end so you had to manual spread it , now with new tech , its no longer needed to shake.
