Man im so glad onyx didn’t get hurt super bad. Same thing happened to me last winter in my 98 sn95. At a stop light in town the double lane gets over a little then comes back. Just had got my car out of the drive way tht day from being stuck in snow and ice. On my way to work. Light turns green get going fallowing the road a dump truck was beside me next thing I kno i see a front bumper coming at my drivers door. Was slick out so hitting the gas was out. Hit my brakes and cut the wheel and nailed a hard packed snow bank on my passenger side with the front tire. Dead stop if hadn’t came to a stop then I would have gotten ran over. I tried doing the same and get the plate number but it hit the gas and ran the next light that just turned red. I got lucky for that bank being there cause there was a pole right on the other side of it. Pulled over too look at the damage and couldn’t see any do to it being dark. Looked after work only thing I could see was the bottom corner of the front bumper was pushed in a lil. Later found out from that both sway bar links got broke. I had the same reaction as you did. Just more cussing lol

After I got that side fixed, a few years later while parked at a shopping center, I come out to find my right front quarter panel scratched and dented in. And get this, it was by another freaking SN95 I happened to park next to. SMH. I get anxiety when I take mine out sometimes now...lol. Sory that happened to you my dude.

Now I'm fighting with their insurance company to get my ride fixed. One day when something bad happens to them they'll wonder why.

Sucks dude, I hit a tree with my cobra... she is toast. Took it out down by the lake and they ripped up the road. Saw it and was going to turn around then figured I'd just wash it when I got into town. Went to down shift missed 4th and went into 2nd and fucked up my rev match timing was still on the gas a bit when I let the clutch out and she went squirrely... Luckily all the cobra stuff is fine so I'm watching for a donor car to swap the drive train into - only problem people want basically what I paid for the cobra for high mileage V6s now -_-

I've seen people put drops of paint on the surface and run a squeegee over it. The drops fill in even the big scratches, kinda like using drywall mud in the house.

That really, really sux man. As great as that car is I think you should fix it. Standard insurance companies value our cars less than dirt. Classic car insurance companies generally will give you what it's worth, an agreed value. Hope it works out acceptably for you.
