I am a youth pastor and this is a topic I deal with constantly as I spend time with my students. I just want to say, in a world where there is so much junk about Christian relationships, thank you for sharing the truth. This is truly a breath of fresh air and a resource for me as I serve my church.
Really great advice, placing god first in every relationship. Been trying to get my guyfriend to understand how important this is, i dont think he gets it.

I want a relationship that glorifies God.I found myself in a relationship in which the guy is a flirt and has a different perspective of everything. Wants sex and all. Eventually I can't provide all these .because it is not of me. What Is the best to do
thank you Mark for elucidating how to glorify God in our relationships and defining what the glory of God is. Excellent definition ---the invisible qualities of God made visible and knowable to us. One thing missing in your presentation is the Holy Spirit living/abiding in us. By our selves we cannot glorify God. Jesus secret of glorifying His father when he started his ministry on earth was because Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 4. 18) We can truly glorify God in our human form when we begin to surrender our will/self to God and be filled with His Spirit. John 15 in his parable of the vine, Jesus says that we cannot do anything without God. We are like empty bottles, but when filled with God 's glory/character/purposes, and with the Holy Spirit's empowering and transforming ability, we can start to reflect God's image in our lives. Jesus' breathing the Holy Spirit on his disciples before He left for heaven, was the secret of their success in their relationships and ministry.
It is the Work of The Sweet HolySpirit IN ME, THAT EMPOWERS ME TO SURRENDER MY WILL/SELF TO MY LORD JESUS CHRIST, IT IS CHRIST IN ME, THE HOPE OF GLORY, THAT GIVES GLORY TO GOD! THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE!
The HolySpirit helps me to surrender my self, surrender my will that CHRIST'S LIFE WILL COME AND LIVE, OUT THROUGH ME, AMEN! CHRIST'S LIFE IN ME THAT'S GIVING THE GLORY TO GOD ALMIGHTY! AMEN
