    Tracii is a very cool guy! My band opened for LA Guns a couple years ago and I got to plug my amp head into one of his onstage Marshall cabs. Then, after our set, his guitar tech or stage manager met me as I’m coming off the stage and gave me an autographed pick from Tracii. They are very nice to the “nothing” opening acts!👍🏼

    • @angusorvid8840
      @angusorvid8840 3 года назад +1

      I saw them first in '87 at Gazzari's. Saw them a bunch of times in clubs. I had a friend who worked for their management company who kept me up to date on what was happening with them. I was thrilled when their first album came out and overjoyed to eventually see them open for Maiden at The Forum in '88. I had nosebleed seats with my friends who had also seen L.A Guns in the clubs. It was like seeing someone you know make it. We met the band at gigs. I can't say we knew them. We were just fans, happy to support a solid band. They had their shit together, unlike 99% of bands duking it out in the L.A. club gauntlet. Tracci is noticeably better than most players I saw. Had a lot more style, feel, and solid technique. And I loved the Les Paul time. Most players then were playing cheezy Ibanez/Jackson shred sticks, which I can't stand. He was rocking an LP or SG. Sounded fantastic. Makes a big difference in sound. And Phil is a great singer.

    I remember when they came to Sacramento on their first reunion tour a few years ago, I had to see what he was running. So I shoved my way to the front, and leaned up on stage and took a shit load of pictures of his Headrush settings. Lol. Kinda sneaky, and to preserve his secrets, I'll never share them. (Even though only Tracii can make it sound like Tracii). But believe me, I've had a lot of fun trying to replicate this sound. This guy has the BEST live tone I've ever heard!

      Please do share 🙂 lol back in the day my girlfriend did hair for Phil Lewis's side band Filthy Lucre I was upset to find out Traci wasn't playing I was always influenced by Traci and the whole sound he was vibing awesome stuff...

      @dizzyastr989 4 года назад +2

      @@Ken-yg4um if you watch his video on the headrush, you'll get a pretty good glimpse of it. I think. But from what I have, he was running into two marshall heads, and using the headrush jcm800 and soldano models, blended. I'm pretty sure that he switches between the jcm800 and super lead models every now and then. But most of his tonal changes comes from his volume knobs on his guitar. Hes a quick mother when it comes to using those knobs. Lol. As for effects, think van halen'ish/hendrix as far as modulations. But believe me when I say that live, he fills out a room like three guitar players.

    Tracii by a criminal twist of fate should have been in GnR and been the real guitar genius instead of the corporatised promoted Slash, Tracii is a serious gun [pardon the pun]. He can do it all, he is way more technical and competent that the player who replaced him in my personal opinion.
    Being a huge fan of the genius song writer/melody/chord constructing, riffs and hooks/bends Steve 'The Riffmaster' Clark, who in the Hysteria years only used triple pick ups on his truly beautiful Customs, and one of his white 18 strong Razors also modded with a Kahler.
    The only player I have seen with triple picks ups is the great legend Ace Frehley, but one of his pick ups is a dummy. That black LP seems weird in that it's neck is that of a Custom yet it does not have the Custom head stock logo?
    Am sure EVH/God will be seriously generous with his Wolfies, he gifted Steve 'fingers' Stevens a entire truck load of gear once. Really generous bloke. Love Tracii. Legend.
