Probably because Danny DeVito happens to be a true Faith No More/Mike Patton fan and they're friends. There's a vid of FNM performing live at Coachella (performing Just a man - 2010 I think) and half way through Danny runs across the stage, it cracks Mike up while he's trying to sing.
I tweeted Glenn Howerton (Dennis) and asked him that a year or two ago. Because hes a big fan of Patton also. Of course, no reply. Celeb types and their insistence on not replying to fans on twitter, I dont get it.
Andys Videos/Bungle Boy Videos He mentioned in an interview that they had asked him once and that he wanted to do it but scheduling was a problem and they've never asked again.
Danny Devito hired Mike & Dan Nakamura to perform with a couple others at an ‘It’s Aways Sunny in Philly’ cast & crew party back in 2007 if memory serves correct.
How can you not love Mike Patton dude could be a megastar if he had an ego and played the game with the phonies and brown nosers. But he chose to be himself and never sold out. An absolute legend for sure. And Devito needs no words
2 of the coolest men on the planet having a chat. Wish De Vito was in more movies these days. And Patton needs to do a pure solo record without the experimentation ( which I love) but I think if he does and focuses on making a great "pop" record he'll come up with something amazing with all the musical experience and collaboration he's had over the years. Just my opinion.
I agree. Mike has never done a pure, simple pop record. I wish he would. Peeping Tom is not a pop record at all. It's great. But he should do something really straightforward for once
If we had to send one person to meet aliens, in order to show the beauty of people from this planet.... Danny DeVito would be the guy to send. All I ever read is how nice of a guy he is.
the fact that Mike Patton and Danny Devito are friends always makes me smile. i adore them both, Mike is probably the greatest vocalist of all time Danny never fails to make me happy. they seem like odd friends, i mean, Danny, a funny little old man (that sounds like an insult, but it's not, i'm just saying he's funny, he's little and an old man... but like a cool old man, you know?), and Mike, eclectic musician and sex symbol, you wouldn't imagine the two being best friends... but it's also easy to see why they're friends. they both have huge personalities, and they seem like they'd be a riot to hang out with.
I know patton likes to play in philly, ive seen him on 5 different occasions with 4 different bands. So Im thinking he might not mind coming to town to shoot an episode of "always sunny". Even if he just played himself it would be awesome.
these 2 guys on screen at the same time is bliowng my mind
"The Gang joins Faith No More"
"The Gang Meets Mr Bungle"
The Gang Searches the Desert for Techno Allah
The Gang's Asses are on fire
The Gang cares a lot
@@FuttBuckerson87 The Gang just hit midlife crisis
This is the oddest combination of any two people in a serious interview that I have ever seen.
Mike could play Mac's long lost brother. XD
Or Mac's dad.
Perfect for the role of brother. Macs dad is already a character
macs greasy uncle maybe haha
That would be great
Great idea
Danny totally looks like the clown on the front of the eponymous Mr. Bungle album cover XD
I was just thinking exactly that! XD
It's actually Danny, they've known each other that long.
@@123612100 that is not true

Someone needs to make that meme
The perfect crossover doesn't exist...
Mike's basically the only one from a 90s band that still looks good.

not anymore lmao

Anthony kiedis too.
Have you seen Corey Taylor, 8 years later and man looks yummy

Mike HAS to be in an episode of IASIP down the line.
I tweeted Glenn Howerton (Dennis) and asked him that a year or two ago. Because hes a big fan of Patton also. Of course, no reply. Celeb types and their insistence on not replying to fans on twitter, I dont get it.
breadbitten We need a petition to get Mike on an episode of It's Always Sunny. That would be a glorious moment in television.
breadbitten funny cus digging the grave and ugly in the morning were on an episode of sunny
+Sam Atilano I'll sign it.
Andys Videos/Bungle Boy Videos He mentioned in an interview that they had asked him once and that he wanted to do it but scheduling was a problem and they've never asked again.
Mike Patton is all about owning it - he's the boss of bosses...

WHAT IS IT
Mike Patton seems like such a cool guy to hang out and kick it with
Awww...the last glimpses of the pre-Danny-Devito-becoming-Frank days..

Mike Patton looks like another character from Philly)
Mac's dad?
Mac
It's a travesty that he hasn't appeared on Aqua Teen Hunger Force yet; in fact I'd say it's a *_double-travesty,_* if it didn't take twice as long.
Danny Devito is the only man who can make Mike Patton look tall.
Isnt Mike taller than most of the band members in Faith No More? I think Roddy is the tallest of the band.
He's not short..Mike is at LEAST 185cm or 5'10. At least. I'm 175cm-5'7 and he was taller than me. At age 22 up to 27..unless he's shrunk since then.
@@Gigi1111Layna 185cm is 6'1 not 5'10, 5'10 is 180cm. 175cm is 5'9 not 5'7, and Mike is actually around 5'9 so maybe you're a bit shorter than that.
@@ernestofr128 5'9 sounds about right
Mike knocks on my door, he may as well accept responsibility for the decline of my marriage
Sounds like it already is
This is a strange combination.
Love these guys!
I love the excitement on Mike's face when Danny say, "You're the best." "Nice." "Aces..."
At 3:27, it's like Mike pushed the question off the screen.
He NEEDS to be in an episode of It's Always Sunny
I always thought the Always Sunny bit where Frank is eating a sandwich during an interview was a tip of the cap to Mike Patton doing that decades ago
A date with Mike...dreamy.
Dude this is rad. I love these meetings of celebrities from way different backgrounds.
The food Patton described at the end sounds so good right now lol
Love both of these guys. Amazing actor and great musician.
Is Danny DeVito the clown on the cover of the self titled Mr.Bungle album?
no
He totally is! I guess...
i think this is maybe Jacques Villeret, a french actor
No, its from a comic book.
That clown looks like he's receiving a BJ from an underage
Fun fact: They played "Digging the Grave" on IASIP episode "Being Frank"
And Ugly in the Morning same episode.
All right! Mike Patton, native of Eureka, California. Makes me proud :D

Um he already did years ago - you must have missed Peeping Tom?!
Mishella Fortune Even then though, it had some pretty out there moments. Obviously nothing on the level of early Mr. Bungle but still.
That's exactly what Peeping Tom is.
I agree. Mike has never done a pure, simple pop record. I wish he would. Peeping Tom is not a pop record at all. It's great. But he should do something really straightforward for once
This is so awesome. Love its always sunny, and mike's the man.

Wow! That was pretty fucken cool! Danny De Vito and Mike Patton chatting. Awesome.

Dolph Lundgren should do an episode of Sunny.
He did

It did for a couple years, man. It did cause a lot of artists to blow up and some of them remain fairly large.
ok i never knew they were close ... now i must see a Patton cameo on an 'Always Sunny' episode =D
just when you think you've seen it all...

Mike Patton should do a "Sunny is Phil" episode.. or/and cover 'night man'
Bacground tune at the beginning: Peeping Tom - Mojo
it looks like Mike talking to the cover of Mr Bungle- Mr Bungle
Danny did commentary on a Fantomas dvd with Buzz, Dale and Greg Wreckman, though.
Many people don't know this, but Mike Patton is the great grandnephew of Gen. George S. Patton Jr.
This makes me want to cry. Poor Danny.
Poor Danny?
Ahh...the good old days of Myspace.
the 'wind down' effect on that peeping tom song was used by fear factory too :p
@BattleOfNY I was already prepared for that response. yes all the interior shots are filmed in LA but the exteriors are filmed on location
Patton should be on IASIP, his skeezy facial hair would fit right in
@dommer117 its the theme tune to 'sex and the city' with mike patton going la la la over the top
