@@PattoDan88 Pop music has been in a sharp downward slope clearly, not that talented musicians just stopped being born so it must be be design. But AI is not and will not compose or create any original music it's just code that someone controls.
I love how the part about being inspired by L Ron Hubbard personality tests and fortune cookies sounds like obvious trolling, but Land of Sunshine tells us it was actually one of the completely true lines.

This interview is actually much longer and if my memory serves me he’s holding the burger pretty much the hold time. I remember watching this high as balls with my buddies back in the day and I thought it was the funniest thing ever. Became a lifelong Mike Patton fan after that lol

Dunn said in an interview that in the early days of Bungle, when he was just beginning to study Music Theory in highschool, they were writing a song, and Patton's vocal melody had a few notes that weren't "correct" according to traditional Music Theory. He said to Patton that he couldn't do that, because of those rules, basically, and Patton asked, "Why not?"
Dunn said that it immediately reminded him, "Oh yeah, why not?"🤦 and they continued on as if nothing happened, bassically. That's how Bungle does what they do, and it's beautiful.

Yes, but the inverse effect/prediction is taking place. He's speaking on an aspect of Truth, but his interpretation is muddied by his (and Bungle admittedly, at least Dunn admits to it) misguided misanthropy. Music is a Spiritual endeavor, wether anybody recognizes it or not. It is an incontrovertible fact, and unable to be separated from that fact. Music comes from HUMAN interpretation of messages/signals/melodies/harmonies out in the aether/inspired by the Divine/The Muse, etc.
Computers are incapable of True Original Composition. This is exclusively relegated to Human Pursuits. Computers just regurgitate/parrot/reconfigure previously available data/information, and express it through every "logically possible" permutation.
AI is definitively, by nature, incapable of producing the effects that Patton refers to. Those innovations will come from HUMAN endeavors interacting with technology/"AI" perhaps, but the technology WILL NOT be the SOURCE of the innovation/ideas.
Let me put it this way, are you happy, satisfied, and fulfilled at the current ranking of the Billboard Top 100?
Are the Artist "they" deem as the most "Successful" and "Influential" based off of their metrics/numbers bear ANY SHRED OF SEMBLANCE to what you in your Heart and Soul feel/know to be of Top/"Superior" Quality, based off of your own personal tastes, regardless of "Genre"?

Lol. No. Considering this interview was from 1992, and Wolfmother formed in 2004.
I get his trolling character and he’s funny and smart. But i still think this was a downfall from people like David Lee Roth or David Coverdale.
every time i see this interview, all i can think is "what is that sandwich?"
i see lettuce (i think, it's kinda hard to tell, i'm only going by the size, the sound it makes when he chews it, and every so often it looks like he has lettuce on his teeth, so i'm guessing it's lettuce), so, is it a BLT? is it just lettuce? is that even lettuce? it could be spinach or kale. what else is on it!?
what condiments would Mike put on his sandwich? he's a bit of a weirdo (i mean that in the best way possible) so i'd imagine he'd have a weird taste pallet. maybe like, honey mustard, or ranch, or barbeque sauce..? maybe he makes his own secret sauce, he seems like the type of guy who could make a good sauce... if that even makes sense.
why is he even eating a sandwich in the first place? i know some people say he did it just to troll people, but i don't get how eating at an interview would be considered trolling. i feel like he's eating the sandwich too politely to be a troll. if he was trying to troll, he'd probably like, smack his lips obnoxiously, or get some of it on his face and doesn't wipe it off for the rest of the interview, or takes a bite as the interviewer asks him a question, so he can talk with his mouth full, and maybe spit bits of it at the interviewer.

did the interviewer barge in on his lunch break? he appears to be in a studio, so maybe he was just having lunch, and he either forgot he had to do an interview, or nobody told him that he had an interview. did the interviewer bring him the sandwich? like, he would only do the interview if the interviewer brought him a sandwich. maybe he heard rumors that the interviewer makes really good sandwiches and requested to try her sandwiches.
am i overthinking it? after all, it's only a sandwich... well, maybe you're underthinking it... but no, i'm definitely overthinking it.
