Ep 73: 1985 Philadelphia Police Bombing
HTML-код

- In 1985, Philadelphia Police were dealing with a huge thorn in their side- the MOVE domestic terrorist organization. What did Philadelphia Police do? They dropped a bomb on them in the middle of suburbia. Was that the right choice?

I like these episodes. Brent tells the story and Tyler peppers it with commentary and questions. Y’all make a good team
Can you talk about the PA trooper that recently got fired for arresting the Mayor Philly's LBGTQ manager? The trooper did absolutely nothing wrong and got fired for political reasons.
I’ll look into that!
@@brenttucker6246 thank you!
Dallas police officers used a bomb-equipped robot to kill a sniper who shot five police officers during a protest in 2016…
Aren't yall "brothers"? Need to act like brothers and all not show up for work. Go public
Marriage for men is risky. At 51 Im divorced, my ex threatened false allegations of DV and worse if I tried to come out of it with some finances. Mind you for the last 6 years I slept in the spare room simping instead of putting my foot down a bit. She now has the house 1.2mil mortgage free, 95% of my retirement fund 285k, I pay 1400 month for CS, and alienated from my kids by her.
As for the Gender politics, Klaus Schwab is using that to creat division.
You guys should cover the squad leader at 2/75 who squared off with the crips in Tacoma in the 80s
I believe they already did
I’ll look into it! We haven’t covered it yet!
@@brenttucker6246 It was covered by Popo Medic last year. 23 million views, so it has demand and you will get a lot of views.
Or the 2/75 bank robbers
That intro and your studio are bad ass. This show is huge man.
Getting there!
Since MOVE didn't have dogs the ATF said we're outta here, but they did recognize game.
😅😅😅 I see what you did there
Thanks for covering this topic, I been hounding you guys to cover it, I’m not surprised your partner never heard of it. He needs to level up on his police history😂 I will say him not knowing about it brought a unique perspective to the conversation
As a cop in Missouri and a former SRO, that is more than enough for that officer to go to prison.
I lived about a half mile from the Move compound. We heard the gun shots in the morning going to school and the Move people doused the other houses with gasoline too.
Studio got a serious upgrade, logo is looking clean!!
Great content guys! Love the channel!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it.
Can you guys talk about the cop shooting the airman kid in florida? I personally believe he shouldn't have shot the kid. The kid posture was not violent and aggressive.
We have a recording tomorrow and it will be the current event topic we start with!
He should be charged plain and simple. We need to refuse accepting a reality where we cannot exercise liberty on our private property without fear of being killed.
I’ll be interested to hear what they say about it. Their Waco and ruby ridge stuff was solid. However, elsewhere on the web I’m seeing a bunch of coppers defending the shooter.
Cops do hits for freemasons
Shout out from the guys from Mitchell County Sheriff’s office Pelham Ga great meeting yall
Hey! My gas station buddies! Lol
This is a very good podcast. I do enjoy listening to it.
I remember James Ramp's funeral. I was 7 years old, and my dad was a cop. Ramp lived in my neighborhood.
Room looks DOPE 🎉
Brent, you guys still have the best podcast out today. I get what you’re saying, but damn, the police just dropped a bomb on them, why would they walk out and surrender to the people who just shot I’ve 10,000 rounds at them?
Philadelphia didn’t have “SWAT” then, but they had a tactical unit called “Stakeout”.
The footage of the bombing is insane
It reminded me of the IRA bombings in Ireland and England during that time
I remember watching this happen on TV. Philly PD tried approaching the compound from adjacent roof tops and were shot at and had Molitov Cocktails thrown at them from the roof. That's what is believed to have started the fire when the explosive was dropped. The TV choppers reported what looked to be gas cans on the roof.
Love the show ...i watch from toronto canada
I don’t normally comment but this hit home. As a Father of son that has been in Scouts since he was in 1st grade and is about to finish his Eagle Scout. I am so glad that my son will be out of Scouts by December. I’ll say this till the day I die if there was a problem within the Girl Scouts then fix your organization. From what I heard girls wanted to go camping and hiking and learn those type skills. My problem is that fix your shit don’t invade the place where boys need to learn how to be boys. The Scouts have been a great experience for my son I just wish his future son would have had the same experience. Keep up the good work love the podcast. Stay Dangerous out there.
Cry harder
Love that neon sign.😊
"MOVE " That was a crazy time. I was riveted to the live TV coverage at the time. I recorded about 8 hours of the coverage and it was incredible.
How did these guys never hear of the Move bombing?
Have they never heard about the weather underground bombing the capitol and pentagon?
Heard of the weather underground bombing, probably because of obamas ties to them when he was young, you’d be surprised how many people haven’t heard about this story!
Nice presentation, an accurate depiction of events.
I was a high school student in 1985 and lived 2 miles away from this, close enough see and smell the smoke from the conflagration.
Some fun facts .....
MOVE were completely unredeamable aholes and acted like animals. It was in their "charter" to lure the govt into a conflict and make them appear incompetent.
Like Waco there were ample opportunities to snatch some of them in nearby Fairmount Park (one block away) which the members frequented with the MOVE kids.
Mayor Goode got an unqualified contractor friend of his to rebuild the neighborhood with poorly built houses which completed the destruction of the tight knit neighborhood. Philadelphians REELECTED him believe it or not.
The PFD hoses were indeed turned off and they let the neighborhood burn down for some inexplicable reason.
There were people in Phila that supported MOVE (bet they didn't live near them) but keep in mind this is the same place that had sympathetic people to cop killer Wesley Cook (Mumia Abu Jamal).
Glad we got it right! Crazy you lived so close at this time! Didn’t hear about the rebuild controversy, I truly hate that for the citizens.
Going on Airplay to see that pretty new studio on the big screen.
Thank you!!!
If Mike Glovers' wife truly has a history of mental illness like he says, then I'm leaning towards his side, being the more accurate version. My ex-wife had and still has severe bi-polar, which she refuses to get help for. I know the panic a father feels when their child is trapped in a bathroom with their mother when she's having an "episode." I kicked in numerous doors to get my children away from my ex. It got to the point where it was like a game to my ex. She would start laughing uncontrollably as soon as I started pounding on the door. Add in the fact that Mike told the police he had told his wife that he was done and wanted a divorce right before she went into the bathroom, and I can fully understand why he freaked out. Now, He's an absolute idiot for using the jail phone to call his friend and ask the friend to contact his wife and ask her to drop the restraining order. Everybody knows those calls are recorded, hell, it tells you it's being recorded. He should have assumed that they would listen to his calls with how big of a profile he has. Even if he's exonerated on the DV charge, he still violated a restraining order and tampered with a witness.
First off, Mike isn't married to her. I'll leave it at that. Clown. Try again.
I do respect his service as a green beret. But he's pretty cringe sometimes. Alot like rob o Neill 😂
Jeez what'd yall drop on the neons 5k? Bye bye income tax. They look good though
Regarding Mike Glover:
Why did she tell the doctor that Mike Glover broke her wrist if she didn't want him to get into trouble? Did she not know it was a mandatory reporting obligation? If she'd just had a manic episode, could she not have told the doctor that she'd fallen on the floor and broken the fall with her wrist?
This is a 25 year old woman. There is an alarmingly high incidence of mental illness and self-harm in that age group of women.
Did Mike Glover break her wrist? Was it a pre-existing injury? Was it a harline fracture or did it require a cast and/or pins? Did she intentionally or accidentally break her own wrist?
Lastly, he didn't allegedly actually violate the no-contact order. He only allegedly conspired to do so.
All good questions, I’m hoping the truth… whatever that is and whichever side that falls on comes out. I know this, no one is winning from this incident, both sides will suffer and I hate it.
Didn’t he have a friend contact her? Heard he got caught on the jail phone having someone contact her
@@brenttucker6246 I hope Mike gets Tim Parlatore or Robert Barnes as his defense attorney.
One of many items on the Oblabba checklist.
I'm pretty sure Philadelphia PD was still using 38 revolvers. They were also the lowest paid large PD in the nation.
Bro the new logo sign is dope.
Thanks! The studio is getting better and better, we’re still figuring a few things out
I’m 68. Remember this period in
Philly even though I was growing up in Ft Worth, TX. Cronkite, Chet Huntley/David Brinkley, Eric Sevareid all other national news personalities talked about this bunch for years. Frank Rizzo was a hard nose life long cop. Rookie to Police commissioner to mayor. But when the fires started nobody could believe it had gotten so out of control. Had seen LA fire in gun battle with SLA(Symbionese Liberation Army). They were ones who kidnapped Patty Hearst. But Philly was like 60s riot with whole blocks burning.
The SLA battle with the LAPD was pretty intense
Thanks for showing the other side of move. Let me say they should not have been bombed by helicopter, but based on all the information I’ve seen in the past made them look more like a black version of Waco. This is giving a little bit more detail into what they were actually doing.
Can you do a show on the battle of Athens Tennessee 1946
Can you do a vid on how you physically prepped for swat and for SF. Like detailed, injury prevention exercise focus, timeline of training etc
Umm that’s probably a Patreon topic.

Thank you sir!
Yup. That's new...
Also, look into the arson killing of KCFD. Would make a really good episode.
28:57 - they didn’t have a landlord, they took over a building that was once nice and destroyed it while disconnecting it from modern society and wreaking havoc on those around them with their obnoxious loudspeakers and decaying, disgusting mess of a property.
The same kind of thing that happens any time those people are left to their own devices.
Yo Bro, my buddy JakeMMA speaks truth. Wake up for real
I hate to see it, boys… This is the quickest back pedal since Deion Sanders… 😭
Haha that’s simply not true, and that comment hits home because I loved Deion as a kid. Feel like I explained the why and it is very different.
@@brenttucker6246 lmao I’m not gonna lie, brother. I was just busting balls, but you won me back with this a comment. It’s not fair to slander you with one of your fav players. I’ll even give you the open shot at the irony here… 😂 Love the Eddie Gallagher episode!
@brenttucker6246
Have you done a podcast about the shooting of Philadelphia PD officer Daniel Faulkner by Mumia abu Jamal?
Just like the MOVE situation in 1985, I remember Faulkner's murder as well.
No we haven’t, I’ll look into that! Thanks for the comment.
Say what you will aboutjocko his leadership books are a VALUABLE asset to any young man, and there’s no denying dude looks like a badass lol
59:11 - In the modern day cops wouldn’t allow medics or firefighters onto a scene until it was secured. How’s this different? Even if the chief was ordered to do so not putting his men knowingly in harms way, when 5 have previously been killed by the same group is 100% the right call.
Those people put themselves in that position and now they bear the consequences. Before any pro-move types start arguing, what happened to the women and children at Waco? It isn’t about race, what else you got?
I was born a Army brat. But my step-dad was a calvary scout. He ended up being a Bradley commander in Desert Storm. But fuck Charlie Sheen, and I'm not wanting to be in a book,or a movie! Unless it's porn. Lmao I love the fact that the Seal team,,,at is after 5,,and before 7,,but it's confidential. If I needed help,,not a dick,,but the Army, team is on my side. Just honest.
I hope Glover’s kids are okay. It’s not fun seeing your mom or a mom figure get hurt by your dad. I’m an only child so I’ve seen some shit.
Loved this episode and started to look more into the MOVE. I started looking more into it and I think its great that Teen Vogue's article is more accurate than Howard Zinn's website.
In regards to the Boy Scouts or Scouting America, they had changed their organization to have females in the regular troops in 2019 I believe. Prior to that, they already had females in the organization in Venture and Explorer troops not to mention female adult leaders. When they changed over to allowing females, they changed the name to Scouts BSA with BSA meaning Boy Scouts of America. People thought the new name was confusing and that's a big reason why its now Scouting America.
Why did change to allow females in years ago? Money. The organization's numbers have been dropping since the 70s. The number of Scouts is reaching the point where the organization is facing its own demise. They had approached Girl Scouts into combining and got turned down. The Scouts went ahead and opened all of their ranks to female after that. Another reason that they are in money trouble is that at its height, there were a LOT of allegations of abuse that have come out because bad guys go looking for target rich environments. The same group of lawyers (I think) that sued the catholic church looked for victims to register for a class action lawsuit. That got going and the Scouts declared bankruptcy recently. The Scouts knew that this lawsuit was coming down the pipe and proactively preparing for it.
Do I think having females will hurt the organization? No. Almost every other Scouting organization in the world has been co-ed for decades without massive issues. Do I think that this is a big change in many people's eyes? Yes. Do I think that the media is just reporting headlines/click bait and not really providing enough info? Also yes.
Another banger
@brenttucker6246
look i need you to look into David Grusch and this whole UAP topic. Don't judge me lol but your opinion would mean a lot. There are some pretty amazing military videos floating around. You're the man

Hey my names Ryan and I have a little bit of an interesting experience involving a trip out of the country and being followed home by cybersecurity. And Im interested in sharing my story and I think it would be a really interesting story to publicize.
You guys should do an episode on a Mexican drug cartel called the knights templar. It was a bizarre cartel based out of michoacan Mexico that was somewhat of a cult itself because they styled themselves after medieval crusaders and even wore chainlink armor and helmets. And the boss of the cartel had his own bible that his sicarios were forced to live by. But they were also very brutal. It would be a great episode
I was talking about this after the dallas shooter got the c4 to the face.
Love the podcast, but gotta screw down the mics or something. they keep making a tinging sound when anything hits the table. Just a suggestion. I've noticed it for a while now
RUclips keeps unclicking my bell, the notification bell. WTF is that? Anyone else?
Why did glover not make it to the end of OTC?
The psychological effect of cops wearing camo is a is an issue. For many police in military uniforms gives a bad taste. And hey many cops are former military but you shifted wear the police uniform
I'll start this with saying I'm a fan of the podcast. One reason being, because I'm a big believer in what's right is what's right, regardless of who it upsets.
That said, I'm curious why you push the street cop conference? You've mentioned you have attended it in previous years which means you sat there and listened to multiple speakers/trainers, including the owner of the company, who were straight garbage as cops and lost their jobs because of it. (Not all, but the majority.)
Unconstitutional stops, unlawful shootings, unlawful detainments, lawsuits, etc.. The list goes on and on. Not only were they fired/reprimanded for these actions, they stand on stage and teach them to the attendees to continue the cycle.
For anyone calling my bluff, search "cop training seminar exposed" on The Civil Rights Attorney RUclips page.
I strongly support law enforcement, first responders and the military. I 100% understand how difficult split-second, life altering decisions are to make. The unlawful shooting mentioned above is not one of those situations.
These are straight idiots pushing even dumber and illegal tactics. I will continue to be a fan of your podcast but, you may want to shift away from calling out others when you so openly attach yourself to failed cops pushing unconstitutional activities.
Who hear knows of Jon Africa from the Schaubisms on the fighter and the kid subreddit?
I really feel like Waco and move are not the same thing. Like move was 1000% domestic terrorism.
I agree, some similarities but overall VERY different!
I don't care for Glover, I think he's a grifter but I've been through a situation fairly similar, but no kids were involved. Everyone turned on me without hesitation. Eventually the security footage came to light and the truth was revealed but not before damaging relationships.
Yeah, bad situation, interested to see how it all shakes out

Yeah, that’s was really hard to watch and hear from him… but it happened.
54:52 - calling obvious domestic terrorists civilians is a bit of a stretch. move supporters would say the same about Koresh or Weaver. Shockingly there’s a few of them still around, look into Wesley Cook the cop killer. A lot of people lying and saying he’s not guilty as sin.
Maybe some of the really young babies were salvageable as human beings but the ones that had already been subject to a few years of the nonsense were probably just foster parent nightmares and taxpayer burdens in the making anyways.

Would love to here yalls take on the airman who was killed in Florida as well as I know yall do alot of calling out the bad but what are your takes on what law enforcement can do to correct what has been happening. From people having their constitutional rights trampled on to police raiding the wrong house and endangering innocent woman and children? There has been 3 bad raids on the wrong house just in the past week. So from all that to the atf that straight up murdered an innocent man in Arkansas down to the sheriff deputy that killed the airman in florida oh and not to mention the acorn cop that mag dumped into his vehicle with a person in custody inside thank goodness he wasnt killed. Something has to be done before American citizens lose all faith in law enforcement. But at this point what can be done?

Not Jocko cucks at all, don’t know much about him but I no one has given us a legit reason to hate him, won’t hate him just because he’s successful and he’s successful in a way I wouldn’t do it but hey that’s not a crime.
