Just did that this weekend, fyi if you cant find a decent driver side cushion they are 100% interchangeable with the passenger side. 3 screws and 4 12mm bolts.
@@DavidToyotaHead13 It worked!!! It was so simple and could've been done in an hour. It took me 4 to clean the carpet and the unreachable sides of the seats when installed. The only difference was the inside, side of the seat is vinyl and the outside is fabric. It makes more sense to me to have the vinyl on the outside. Thanks for the suggestion!
Toyota really made things easy here.. all the holes are there for any options.. some have ‘placeholder’ bolts in them, but it must make the production much more straight forward.
This is also a near required upgrade when you do dual transfer cases because now you have the second sifter back on the bench. So you need to upgrade to bucket seats. Also... Yes so much more comfortable. I got some first Gen Tacoma bucket seats and it was just as you pointed out. the only bolt that didn't match was the inside driver seat so those work as well.
@@TheRandomDead i had to sell Beastie to be able to afford to move. There was no possible way for me to bring it, so i had to her go. Sucks big time, but im building the mazda with a few parts that i had on both Beasties haha!
i have a 92' im working on and i got seats from a 93' SR5, in my case the passenger seat is not a direct fit, one of the bolt holes on the rear of the seat is about 1.5 inches away from the bracket! lol
I enjoyed watching your bucket seats video upgrade. I just completed mine, (1995 DLX, 372K miles, garage kept in near mint condition) and the timing of discovering your video was a tremendous asset to me getting the work done seamlessly! I would like to know if you can provide me with the info. What model & year was the "center console" that you installed in your truck came out of? And to I would like to comment that perhaps you either have learned or know by now that regarding the driver seat bolts to the floorboard that there is a "hole to mount the seat on the front right next to the original hole mount" that was concealed underneath the carpet. But there was NOT a nut on the back side of the hole just an opened hole where a bolt could be inserted.
I have the 89' sr5, but the seat is so worn out its got extra foam on it and a seat cover. Am hoping to upgrade, but might go to Mexico and have it reupphostered there this winter.
I am not mechanically inclined at all, so I don’t know. I have a ‘99 Taco that I want to swap out the bench seat for buckets. Will these SR5 seats work for my truck too? I have a friend who will do the install, I just need to get the seats and hardware.
Nice work! I did the same except mated 1st gen Eagle Talon seats to the Toyota bucket rails. The missing bolt location for the drivers seat is already there, but it has no backing nut. I welded one in for mine. Also, the hole for the drivers side seat belt is marked, but not punched through the tunnel exact opposite of the passenger side seat belt location.
Where did you find the seats? They look to be in great condition. Do you know if the Forerunner SR5 seats are the same? I have a 1990 SR5 extended cab also in gray and the driver's side upholstery is a little beat. Someone commented that the cushions are interchangeable with the passenger side.
I actually traded for these seats from a buddy. They where reupholstered at some point in time! I would imagine the passenger cushions might be interchangeable, but the passenger does not have as many adjustments as the driver, so maybe not?
Very nice 👌 I put in a couple of seats off a four runner. They work awesome. But the driver is showing wear😂I will follow you advice. I also disliked the 60/40
the fourth hole where you welded the tab..... did you feel under the carpet to see if there was a hole there? can't imagine them making different cabs and there not being a hole with a rubber or plastic cap.
First time viewer, I like your energy and are fun to watch! Thanks! I'm looking at a 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5, thinking, I'll want to put in powered seats.
Loved the vid! My truck driver seat is getting mushy on the door side and needs an upgrade. I read somewhere else about the 4 runner seat being compatible. I wondering if I can install 06 or newer in my 01 Tacoma.
It'll be expensive, but corbeau makes a nice seat called the gts II and a drop in bracket adapter with sliders. The seat also reclines. Around 800-1000 dollars I think.
I'm not sure, but most non oem seats should bolt to the bracket in there if it has various holes and slots. Most aftermarket seats have studs on the bottom to secure it to the bracket so I'm sure if you order some seats or find used aftermarket ones it should just bolt in. If not you can always drill new holes in the bracket or extend slots. Good luck!
I have a 96 sr5 t100 truck is blue so seats are blue so I want to change to Grey or black leather from a 4runner or sequia or mabe even buckets and center console from a camry
Sweet seat set up. But I’m pretty comfy with my bench seat, the fold down arm rest is just tits. And when I have to haul the occasional third homie, it’s still a decent ride lol

I have an 01 Tacoma. Are you saying I can use my passenger side seat cushion on the driver side. Do I need to do and upholstery work?
@@davedutzik2679 if the bottom cushion bolts are at the same place on each side yup!

That is another big reason I went with buckets! Duals are coming soon 😉
@@DirtGarage sweet, are you going to go with a 23 splined, or a 4.7?
Both Haha, gotta go 23 for the R150, and I'd love to have 4.7 in rear case.
nice man! such a simple mod, yet it adds SO much more to the truck. cheers!
analog56x wheres the beastie vids lol?

That looks awesome. I have to keep my bench seat though as I often need to put one of my kids in the middle.
Totally fair! The guy I got the seats from traded for my bench, because he wanted his dog to be more cozy.

My passenger rear mount near the trans tunnel is like a half inch off. I got them from an sr5 4runner. What could be the issue?
Can you upgrade Tacoma seats with these sr5 seats?
have always had sr5 seats so I know no different. The latest upgrade was led reverse lights. Big difference !
What year is the seats are from and what year is your truck
Definitely want to do that to mine. Love those wheels, what kind are they???

Ah that is to bad. These seats in good shape are insanely comfy!
Great videography skills!
My 95 4runner seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in tbh
Instead of welding, use a carriage bolt / nut and piece of right sized iron, cut and drilled correctly.
Either way, good upgrade for comfort!
That would work fine too!
The red interior kills me
Thanks I love it.

Thank you! I don't know why I waited so long to upgrade seats. Night and day difference.
Damnnnnn dude... You got a double din center console!! I really want one of those
You would be sacrificing the rear heater on a 4Runner. But it is really nice.
We can install cruise control in toyota pickup which doesn't have it

I don't have a welder and my 92 previous owner put in a 5pt racing seat I want gone. Are there any drop in buckets seats that dont require fab?

what year 4-runner did those seats come out of?
They came from a Pickup. But same as 4Runner. 90-95
What year 4runner were the parts from
90-95
Don't know if I'm missing something I found 95 4runner seats to go in a 95 t100 only 1 drive and 2 pass bolts lined up any ideas?
T100s are different. Their cabs and wheelbase are much wider, I'd assume the seats are different aswell.
Would it work for a 94 t100 dx single cab long bed?
I have a 96 sr5 t100 truck is blue so seats are blue so I want to change to Grey or black leather from a 4runner or sequia or mabe even buckets and center console from a camry
Where’d you end up picking the seats up from?
Traded someone for the bench, they wanted bench for dogs..
I certainly got the better end of the deal.

Csnnot find these anywhere locally. Everyone eats them up. Hate it !
Normal 4Runner seats work good too! Does not have to be SR5 buckets from a Pickup to get same features.
They don't make the color interior anymore 😕
You're not bleeding.........you didn't do it right.
Maybe I did, and it just blended into the red interior... Haha
sr5 is a wanna be smh
Wanna be what?
Where’d you get the center console from?
