In my opinion , it is the economy that is killing these treasured heritage , rent , debt , cost of living etc had been skyrocketed. Hence millennials may find these kind of job or the responsibility of continuing those culture / heritage not so feasible. I do need to give credit for those who are willing to continue and preserve these treasures. Feel free to criticize me and we'll have a healthy debate here

I feel that old people require roasted beans and in the past, they wanted an affordable cup of coffee so they did this business. So now, millennials look towards better coffee and want higher quality. This industry won't disappear its just evolving into a more complex and higher-quality industry.

Every time I return to Sg (I live in UK) , I notice the food scene changing - these old old type of food very difficult to find..... so sad.......unique Singaporean taste should be passed down and be proud of the culinary heritage. Even the hawker food also changing so much...........last time, I was back, so hard to find good duck rice, or even cai tao kueh, why everywhere Mala, Korean or Japanese food one? Maybe should learn how the Italians retain their foods. Can change and reinvent, but must keep the original version also. Look at how Starbucks failed in Italy? Lesson there to be learnt! #heritagepride

It is the coffee product after processing which is unique to the country. He is not saying its the best, its just it is unique to Singapore and is part of the culture here.
