The extra Paragon warsuit made a HUGE difference, the guard dumped so much firepower into that extra one to kill it and all of that would have been shredding squishier targets than the warsuit. Yea, I know Jinx said she would have brought equally useful units, but the X factor of how much Stig was shooting those paragons to kill them can't be really measured, I honestly feel like Guard would having taken this one if not for the slip up.
I think the very first Warhammer 40k Model that I ever saw, and in fact the very first exposure to 40K for me, was a Tallarn Stormlord and I forever will remember how goddamn cool I think it looked. One Day I will find the time, Money and Motivation to get buy that Badboy myself. Very happy to see the Tallarn on the field!

I'm not a rules expert by any means, but surely the point of specifying that you get to shoot as if you are in your shooting phase, is so that you apply any rules that usually would only apply in the shooting phase?

I don't have it handy, but it's an argent shroud order with a metric buttload of Multi-meltas and immolators. Rules pedantry: Voice of command orders only splash 6" to other infantry units, and cant splash over to other units using vox casters. Also Armoured Sentinerls are ASTRA MILITARUM VEHICLES and do get AoC, so that 6 would have been a save vs. AP-4. I think you said the battle cannon was AP-1 once, which I think was then reduced again to AP-0. Also bring astropaths! They are so cheap and allow you to ignore cover.
I’ll take another look at that wording on the VOC and Vox Caster interaction! This list was very much about wanting to get as much of our Tallarn out as possible and all our Astropaths etc are for The Albion Raptors!
Astropaths don’t have the [regiment] tag. If the Albion raptors can borrow the tallarn Bullgryn you should be able to steal a few models haha. Guard really struggle against AoC power armour in light cover so the astropath ability is amazing and will be sorely missed if we lose it.

I don't get why people bag on the SoB battle suits, but in fairness the local SoB player spams all the walkers. The suits probably look a lot less dangerous when there aren't eight penitence engines drawing fire away from them.
theory time, as the sacrosanct box has the option to make 3 basic or 2 basic and 1 SGT model and as as our beloved TT crew have been playcenters and may be privy to 10th ED secrets, I'm going on record now to say that Jinx put 4 suits in her list cos that will be a thing in the 10th sisters codex. I have a good feeling about this prediction as I caught out the nameless other TT channel in a similar issues just before the 8th ED Marines 2.0 codex when one of them had 4 WL traits on 3 models in a marine list before that was a thing and they were also play testing at the time.
Love a good conspiracy theory! There are a couple of whoopsies in the rules so you may be on to something..but equally filming one of these and keeping all the rules in your head for a bunch of armies is super tough.. we all make mistakes! But I'm all in on the theory!

God regular battle canon LRs need a buff. They were ok in 8th but every time I see/play them on the table top it is so apparent how far the meta has left their profile behind.
Genuine question. Can you use miracle dice after having already made the roll? There were multiple times Jinx used her Miracle dice after failing the saving roll. I thought you had to use the dice before making the throw. If not, it seems pretty broken? Also I feel like paragon warsuits are pretty broken as it is. T5, 2+ saving throw, Armour of Contempt, AND subtracting 1 from every attack for 70 Points per model or 80 Points with a Multi-Melta. I mean just compare that to a Wraithlord or Deff dread. Wraithlord with two Bright lances costs 140P while lacking the 2 up save and armour of contempt, while a base Deff dread is just inferior in everyway except in melee attack output and number of wounds yet costs 85P?
For the miracle dice, sorry I wasn’t being clear in game but I was using the moment of grace strat, which allows me to discard miracle dice to improve my save :) I do think that armour of contempt has made paragon warsuits really strong, especially with martyred lady giving them +1 to hit after losing models from the unit. although I was also spending roughly 2cp and 2-3 miracle dice on them every turn to keep them alive 😅
Despite how the battle ended, I like how this shows that the guard are still competitive. Sisters are one of the strongest armies right now and Jinx came in with a meta list using their best units when Stig did not and it was still close. I’m sick of the negative guard players crying that winning is impossible when it is clearly not.
This is tempest of war, not matched play. The random secondaries mess with people's lists because they can't build around secondaries. This in turn makes the game more balanced because people need to adjust their play style as the game flows.
Why do you think he chose multi lasers for the sentinels if any weapon choice for sentinels are now free? Could have chosen lascannons or missile launchers and would have been far more effective
Guaranteed shots? Having more shots means more potential auto-wounds rather than 1 potential (from a Lascannon for example) or rolling a 1 or 2 with the missile launcher
@@iandoddsblah I guess so? 3 str 6 no AP shots for 1 damage vs up to 6 shots from missile or krak mode doesn’t seem super valuable. Myself I’d like the option to swap to krak to do antitank when needed and frag for light infantry
Kind of felt the frustration for drug towards the end there. Between the stratagems and miracle dice it just felt a bit oppressive towards the end. Kind of blown away that gw is putting out squats before the guard get updated.
Honestly that guard list is petrifying. Katie did so well against it. I almost don't get how anyone is supposed to play guard like that without going to a game store buying a complete new heavy support detachment and taking every big gun they already have. Not surprised AM is the last codex, theyre just a weird fit in the meta now.
