That would be easy. Just get a pokemon with double team.
One of my favorite parts of pokemon B&W is that the female trainer has an absolute death glare in the battle intros; like her goal is not to win but to crush her opponent lol. (13:45 for reference though it happens a fair bit.)

I feel like the reason shedinja wasnt allowed is because its impossible to get a lvl 1 shedinja through normal gameplay, whereas all the mons you use are technically possible to be legitimently obtained as soon as you can trade.
Shedinja would also make it too easy tbh. Like half the gyms would be a joke with him. I feel like only using pokemon that’re actually obtainable with those exact movesets at level 1 was the best way to do this.
I remember my first playthrough of Black. I gave my best friend White as a birthday gift and we both played all night. Seeing someone else play this game for the first time and enjoy it so much, challenge or not, brings back so many happy memories for me. I hope you end up loving the Unova region as much as I do.

Pokémon Rejuvenation has a playground with an actual working slide. You also get to play with a stray Pokémon on that playground. It's lovely
I think I found a solution to the Oran Berry issue
You can get the TMs for Thief (it's the item at 2:26:20) and Protect (talk to professor after seeing 60 pokemon, you don't need to catch any)
Then just teach Thief to one of your pokemon, replacing Protect, steal berries from wild Audino and teach Protect again afterwards
(Edit) Actually, you can do it right now with the Attract TM you already have
Just get Thief (2:26:20) and teach it to volbeat to steal the berry from the Audinos, then teach Attract again after you're done
You can also steal it from wild Furret, Bibarel, Pansage, Panpour and, obviously, PanFiRe
I think the Thief TM is only with surf possible to get.
@@Powerghost1.0 That was also what I initially thought but apparently you don't need anything, he can just walk for 10 more seconds and get it, it's literally the only thing he can get in that cave without having Surf

The thing about shinies on an emulator is they are absolutely useless unless that is the goal of the playthrough. You can't transfer them anywhere or keep them so the shiny is gone the moment you end the playthrough.
gen 5 is my favorite out of them all, and i first chose oshawott as my starter too. nice!
You know where you could've gotten and grown more Oran Berries, the Pokémon Dream World website. You could also catch an Arceus there, as well as a bunch of other Pokémon. It also invented Hidden Abilities which were exclusive to the site at the time, too bad they shut it down.
Also, that Arceus was Lv. 100, and unlike other event Pokémon, it would have your Trainer ID/name, so it would always listen to you, even if you were still at the beginning of the game.
RIP to that legend. I remember spending hours exploring the Dream World, so sad its gone
He should've given Shell Bell to Aron. It is sick with Endeavour, because you heal to full every time, and with poison up you can basically sweep with Aron.
Focus Sash is also kind of useless outside of competitive battles, because it's destroyed on use.
Otherwise really nice planning, and a really fun challenge!

Gen 5 is the favorite for the same reason OOT is a favorite. Nostalgia and what this current gen grew up with. Gen 1 - 4 was mine.

Gen 5 is my favorite cause White 2 was my first main series game
I started with blue and played every mainline game, black and white are my favourite because they are objectively better games, nostalgia has nothing to do with it..at least for me.

I just can't think of any other strats that are feasible at that level
Speaking as someone who has emulated 5th gen a loooooot of times, these games look significantly better with a filter on. Personal preference as to which, if any of course, but I find 5th gen especially can look really pixelated and doesn’t really give the full experience when emulated raw.

If the fact that he's in Nacrene city battling the gym instead of Aspertia city or Virbank city isn't an obvious enough clue, try checking if he has Hilda or Rosa, or if he wasn't grill, Hilbert or Nate
I'm disappointed that he didn't go with level 1 Rattata with Focus Sash, Endeavor and Quick Attack.
Finally he plays my favorite pokemon game. It's also were I started so it might just be nostalgia
i just played it for the first time after playing every pokémon game made after it, and i think i can say with confidence that this is my favorite.
W/B was my first Pokemon game as well! Not my personal favorite but I was so excited for this as well, they’re great games.
These are still some of my favorite pokemon games to play.
While I consider the sequels B2W2 to be the better games in the series, the originals BW have the best story.

Imagine running away from a SHINY on your first run of Black and White, ON THE THIRD ENCOUNTER. You didn't even need to use it, just put in your box and keep the save file!
It's on a hacked file so it's not like he can do anything with it

I really don't care what Eric thinks. It's a valid point even if he's not gonna come back to a file, this is where most people including myself and 90% of streamers would have caught the Pidove regardless.I feel like Eric is taking the rules a bit too seriously when the title of the challenge only says he has to USE level 1s. That means he COULD catch other pokemon then use pokegen to get them to level 1 or simply catch the pokemon to read their dex entries etc and then put them in the box. I feel like Eric is being a bit too restrictive towards what he can and can't do when all that matters is the title of the challenge.

BW are one of the best Pokémon games, and while I get people who hate XY and SWSH, I am sad more people don’t like SM, I thought they were fantastic with good music, new mons, characters, and story and generally looks great (I LOVED the character customization in it), tho I get why people were turned off from it, with it being very hand holdy at the beginning and Z-moves in general 😔😂
If I watched all the cutscenes in gen 7 I would still be watching well after this is done

Pokemon hard-core nuzlocke but new rules: No evolving, No Zmoves, No dynamax, No megas, No level up moves. Hm/Tm only. It'll make catching pokemon require more thought and have to consider what moves they already have. No catching wild pokemon that are evolved. Try a pokemon game with tauros if you wanna make it easier. Tauros is highly underrated.

@@masterofroblox687 That’s what a choice item does?? If forces you to use the first move you picked, I made a joke that it’s like a permanent one where it’s with the first move you picked in general with no bonus effect.
Also the person actually said that it was the first move used on him, so like smeargle, basically.

Can atsign make a mod where pp never regenerates and once you run out of pp for all moves the Pokemon is automatically released at the end of the battle

My point was surely if your a fan of the franchise you've already had a default play through, also you've assumed I'm saying there's something wrong with being driven to make content about Pokémon for the high viewing figures? Man's working I've got no problems with him working smart.
Only thing I had issues with is playing a challenge run on stream, rather than giving yourself the pleasure of having a normal play through on your own time, but if he's playing em for views rather than the primarily the experience I understand that choice and have no problems, I just wouldn't do myself dirty like that as someone who cherishes playing a new Pokémon game fresh for the first time.
The concept the thumbnail sells you is totally devalued the moment he showed a full squad of handpicked Pokémon from the very first battle...I lost all interest and turned off the video
