My mother has a 2012 Kia Rio, she bought it 2 years old and after 9 years, it is still mechanically perfect. Has a torque converter gearbox so not particularly fuel efficient but it does the job well.
Yes, as a matter of fact, the very first car ever on Sensible Secondhand Reviews was a 2015 Kia Rio, albeit with the 1.25 engine and a manual gearbox. They are also excellent cars. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting.
Hello Mr Lloyd, I knew a Driving Instructor who had the i20 from new in 2010. Three warranty claims fixed without quibble; failed clutch thrust bearing, steering rack and aircon problems. Despite this it was a good car and lasted well. She then had the third gen i30 with 1.4engine which was faultless. If I wanted a car of this type, I would definitely consider Hyundai. They are DIY serviceable as well.
Yes, my friend only wanted another Hyundai after the i20 looked like it needed to be scrapped. The 1.4 engines tend to be extremely reliable, as long as you look after them. Thank you again for watching!
The revised 1.6 got a 6 speed DCT presumably to get the car Euro 6 compliant. I have had both a early 4 speed auto and the later (2018) 6 speed which is about 10 to 15 percentage more economical overall particularly on faster, runs where high 50s even low 60s mpg has been achieved.
Yes, I have driven the four speed and six speed automatics in various Vengas and ix20s over the course of the last few years, as I source a lot of these. The later 1.6 with the six speed manual is the most desirable specification of all, in my opinion. Thank you very much indeed for watching for and commenting.
Yes, this is one of the best specified Vengas/ix20s I have sourced, and it is in superb condition. They actually drive surprisingly nicely too, although the 1.4 is not necessarily very quick.
Great car, been reliable (1.6 auto ). Downsides are fuel economy, noisy above 3000rpm and suspension not really good enough for UK roads. Also 1.6 engine has no turbo ,so slow acceleration and of course the noise!
Yes, the rare six speed manual with the 1.6 engine is probably the best combination. Better acceleration, better fuel economy and perhaps less noise due to the extra cruising gear. The suspension seems OK, the rear does seem to have a habit of needing new bushes quite frequently.
Hi Joseph , I know of a few elderly people who have both Kia and Hyundai versions over the years , they seemed very happy with them . We had a Kia Ceed 1.4 2012 that used oil up only when you had been on motorways , no other problems only that.
Yes, the older people seem to really like these, but they also suit young families very well, for example, and I have sourced lots for them too. The Cee'ds are also really good cars, of course.

A excellent review as always Sir, not a bad looking car and looks good with the Panoramic roof.

Hello Sir . I have driven one before 1.6 auto and as you said in the video you sit high and I felt I was sitting on top of the car.
The driving position is quite appealing to many people, I think. I drove a 1.6 Automatic Venga on the channel in January, I had sourced that one too!
2 bhp more than my i10 with the 1.2 litre Kappa engine. A little bit brighter inside than mine with the chrome door handles and sunroof.
Yes, the Gamma engine in this car isn't particularly powerful, but they do tend to be quite reliable.
has a big panaramic glass sunroof like mine honda jazz EX 2013.
Yes, the panoramic roof was one of the top selling points of the car when I sourced it.

Good Morning Sir!
Did you enjoy this video, sir?
