The VC does come from China. The Amazon third party companies buy from Alibaba in bulk and sell them for a low price. I bought a plastic VC from Mitzone for 100 bucks with the bolts and CCV hose. Fits perfect, except for the eccentric shaft actuator metal brace. The two bolts that hold that brace down to the head wouldn't align and couldn't screw the bolts into the head. So, I pulled the original metal brace from the old plastic VC and used that and all is well. I didn't want to bang or pry on that metal brace while it was on the VC. so, it was easier to pull the brace from the original VC. So.. when you guys replace the VC with a new one, DO NOT throw away the old one until the new one is fully installed, just in case you might need a part from the original VC.
What solution did you have for the bolts loosening over time? Im installing mine currently and I let it it sit overnight and noticed the bolts lost their torque. I used blue loctite on all of them and I’ll see how that goes.
@@supdougs4487 It’s been great actually. It looks amazing and the reason the bolts kept loosing torque was because you cant use the factory torque spec. It squishes the gasket. So you need to have them looser than normal.
Thanks for sharing the update. It seems like theres no value in swapping an existing plastic valve cover (assuming its all fine and you don't accidentally create a hole in it) to this aluminum valve cover. I'm curious if other metal valve covers have similar issues with bolts getting loose.
I am going to replace the valve cover gasket on my BMW 1M. Been thinking of upgrading to an aluminum valve cover. What do you think of using soft glue on the bolts since you have experienced them coming loose?

You should see if it's possible to disassemble and work on the CCV system on this cover.
hey man, how much do you think you've spent on your car so far? including parts and labor of others (not your own). awesome build btw
PPI makes an insert kit for the injector holes if yours are going oval/ getting larger then stock.

How did it hold up?
I’m also curious how it held up👀👀

@@RyanOdowd-d1iwhat torque did you use with this alu cover ?

No loctite?

No locktite no glue per BMW, you’re supposed to retorque them after a couple heat cycles. That’s normal.
