- Hey book club! I spent another weekend with Napoleon and in this vlog, I included more footage of my character study process, show you some updated tabs I made on my book, and we take a quick trip to the thrift store! I may have also started another book (I know, I know) featuring Napoleon - all of this while my cat tries to steal the show!
As I mention later in the video, I am reading Napoleon the Great in memory of @jenniferbrooks this month as part of the #welovejenny read-along hosted by Jennifer's good friend @ChristyLuisDostoevskyinSpace. Jenny loved Napoleon the Great and for good reason - it's a wonderful biography of him. Thanks so much for watching.

Love this! @18:27 "he was lousy in bed! Let's move on!" hahahahaha
Loving how you annotate your books, it's awesome!
So interesting to watch you craft your own book. Very inspiring!
➕️😍 I've never seen that done before!
I love the tabs but I can't do it for my books oh gosh
Having a reading journal looks fun though! Can't wait to see your update on your journal
The photos you added are darling❤❤😊
I love the mix of book and craft to make the experience of the book your own.
🙋♂Hi Lisa! Wonderful work❤! I started working on my digital e-ink tablet and following what you do in your physical books. Though I am an avid fountain pen user and enjoy writing by hand since I am 8 years old, when it comes to reading digital is much handier for me. Looking forward to see what other books you will read and ideas you come up with. Kudos from NYC🗽.
Well Lisa, your son really needs to know that you are a rising star on youtube! 😂🎉
And the cat!! 😆😻

How creative! I'm going to try this with my next read.
That is an A+ cat, five stars 😻
Here's interesting trivia about Napoleon. Alexandre Dumas, who wrote the classic novel, Count of Monte Cristo, which I loved, was the son of Thomas-Alexandre Dumas who was a French General under the command of Napolean. He shows up in the Ridley Scott movie, which was awful in my opinion unless you love endless battles and no character development, and I had no idea that the general's mother (Alexander's grandmother) was an enslaved black woman.
All true! Alexandre Duma's father is mentioned in the book. I didn't know that about his grandmother but given the times it's not surprising. The slave trade is also touched on in the book. It's an interesting read for sure, I'm learning a lot. And I've heard mixed reviews about the movie 😬
Honestly I had no intention of picking up any book about Napoleon but you've now convinced me! Id say you are doing great at being a booktuber🎉🎉 thank you queen
Aww thanks so much!! ❤️
Aww thanks so much!! ❤️

Hi! Just started the video but I needed to say that I loved The Nest!
I love the napoleon read. I am reading about John of gaunt and William the conqueror. I hope you pick a second book after napoleon and continue.
There are so much fun stuff going on in this video that I don't even know what to comment! Well, I might have decided to finally buy the paper trimmer that has been on my wishlist on Amazon for forever. And, hellooooo, Foster♥🐾
I LOVE my paper trimmer 😂😂 The cat certainly made himself known in this one 😻
The book looks fantastic!!!
Hi lisa, absolulty adores this napolean vlog. i like how curious you are about all the mistress 😆, really enjoy your sence of humour. Thanks to guy who brokeup with you. 🤪Sorry not sorry.

I love that you do the Character Studies of the women in the bible! I'm doing the heart dive with Kanoe Gibson study (here on youtube) this year and you have inspired me to do the character studies, using your method! Another great reading vlog! Keep 'em coming! ❣
She has a great channel I've learned a lot from her as well as Faith at "How to Faith a Life". Part 3 of the vlog is in the works, and there are many more mistresses to discuss 😜
I love how creative your annotating is! Soooo fun!
I love your idea to add your own illustrations. What kind of work do you do? I draw now and then to balance my technical work as GIS specialist. Also love your focus on the women in the book
I love how creative your annotating is! I started implementing your character study idea into my non fiction books and it is great!
So amazing!!! I hope you enjoy it!
Went and got some of your "tiger tea." Great recommendation! Really like it!

I love all your vids! Your energy is so fun! And i love how you analyze what you're reading ❤
I'm stopping right here. I HAVE to get this book and dive in. Love your idea of highlighting the many women in this book. Once I get going I'll come back and watch Part 1 and 2. I imagine there might even be more vids coming?
How awesome, I hope you like it! I'll continue with the reading vlogs on this tome until I get through it!! 😎
Wow!! I love how involved you got with annotating this book. 🥰It’s so crafty, cool and personal.

lol at you censoring the cats butt with ur hand
He has no shame LOL
there should be a translator for Wiki so you can translate French to English or whatever language.
There is, it's just that some of the French pages were pretty short so I was able to just read the French and only have to look up a couple of words :)
