Glad your back and so happy! Your drawings are beautiful. Book recommendation Icefields by Thomas Wharton. Short, haunting beautifully written, set in Jasper, involves a man who has a supernatural experience when he falls into a crevasse on a glacier, he tries to convince himself he was hallucinating but never quite does. The town, the glacier, and the people are all so interesting, Set in the late 1890's it also involves the birth of the tourist industry in Jasper and the man's protective relationship with the glacier. Absolutely poetic, highly highly recommend.
So excited for you and your new love, as well as, rediscovered passions! This may sound very cliche', but you are glowing with happiness in this video! 💕
I do love The Dollmaker by Harriet Arnow but it's out of print and hard to find. I also love Blackbird by Jennifer Lauck and Anya by Susan Fromberg Schaeffer if you're looking for something to read. Just a recommendation.
Been waiting!! 😂 SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Take it slow. Check his finances, also!! Hahahaha. So glad you are doing the art and will share your studies. Love the portrait and flower(T-SHIRT PRINT!! DO IT!)
Sounds like things are going pretty great for you! I absolutely love your art. You can do as many videos on art as you want, I will totally watch them! ❤
Hey girl! I get it! Go live your life! So happy for you. Life is a calliope of wonders, isn't it? As far as good book recommendations--- I am nearing the end of a library book and am loving it. It is The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden. It is set in Nova Scotia and the European Theater in World War I and is the story of a young, hardened military nurse in her quest to find out what happened to her younger brother in the war. She receives a crate of his effects, but things do not add up. For example, there is no drawing book. He is a prolific drawer and has a sketch book on hand at all times. There is also a cryptic message telling the family her brother is "not dead" but unfortunately part of the writing has washed away in the elements. Even though she has been sent back to Halifax to recover from a severe leg wound and to tend to her hands which were scarred from mustard gas, she makes her way back to the front to search for the truth of what has happened to her brother. I would like to think if I ever was a military nurse, I would be like her. It is well-written and gives me vibes of Night Circus, which I also loved. After reading this book I will definitely be reading more of Arden's work.
Noticed that the book is on audible as well, so this will be my next purchase! Also narrated by Salha .Thanks Lisa. Love your sketches also, such talent!
