      Captain C.C. is right. These large wild shiners ARE among the main forage in north and central Florida lakes & rivers for trophy bass. Shad are probably the #1 forage, but they are too hard to keep alive for bait & very fragile on a hook. But large wild shiners are rather hardy. Shad, shiners, and bluegill......in that order, are the 3 top forage items for our trophy bass here in Florida. Been living & fishing here since 1969.

      I love you too man, but I think you've been listening to too many bass holes! I've been a trophy bass fishing guide for nearly 40 years and I've caught some of the same trophy bass years apart! Bass are way tougher than a lot of these so called experts think! Many of them have never caught a big bass in there lives! Yet they think they know more about handling big bass than some one who's caught hundreds of them and has kept big bass in aquariums as pets as l have!

      @TheNorthFloridaAngler  3 года назад

      @@bigfishbrau Lol! Yeah your probably right about that. Also that bench seat I lay them on is way cooler than any other surface on the boat. Also trying to get a accurate length and girth measurement by your self with the fish still in the live well is next to impossible. Trust me bro! Most of these fish do realy well after release. Every now and then one will get hooked in the gill or swallow the hook. If their bleeding real bad they will usually die. If their not bleeding and you cut the line and leave the hook in, they have about a 75% survival rate. This is what my records have proven on fish I used to keep in a small neighborhood pond.
