Thank you very much. I would prefer the Sony X95K, because I just love how Sony handels blacks and details. But, it is said that the X95K has a lot of blooming! Some say, that this isn´t the case in the 85 inch model. Is this true? What about X95L? Has it severe blooming too? I repeat: it is SAID in some coment sections, I have no proof of blooming by X95K.
I personally believe that TCL is gonna button this TV up. Almost a guarantee. They’re one of those brands/companies that often have software bugs, and rely on FW updates to fix the processing glitches. It’s a trend I’ve always noticed with them, and why hanging onto one for long term, does help. It’s like the CX when that launched in 2020….totally borked FW/SW. Especially black level wise. It was fixed tho. I believe this will be too. You could also fix the CX’s issues with calibration knowledge. It’s not fair to consumers tho, to get half baked products, so that why I appreciate guys like you, pointing it out! 🫡 I didn’t really look at the settings you were changing. I saw you messing with black level, but what effect did local dimming settings have on that black level/shadow detail? Most likely it just the local dimming being overly aggressive on this FW build. Also could be un-defeatable AI, or localized gamma manipulation, which is doing a poor job. There are so many factors to this. It’s what separates that Sony from this TCL. Sony gets it right OOTB for the most part. TCL and Hisense… not so much. Getting better tho. That’s why it’s so important for ppl like myself, to truly judge a set after it’s be calibrated and aligned to the best it can be, to the standards. Some TVs just can’t do it well, due to processing decisions/errors and/or hardware limitations. I had the old r625 from TCL. That set blew me away for the money. It was stellar, and had great HDR impact and color volume. Contrast was good too. The shadow detail was probably the best out of all their sets to this day imho. However, it had more backlighting quirks than these newer miniLED models. It was balanced tho, and accurate due to its local dimming choices, and not being overly aggressive. Processing wasn’t trying to do anything crazy either. It was just a good tv. Regret getting rid of it, tho I’m an OLED guy now. The r635 after the 625 really struggled with shadow detail presentation and crushing or low level scenes, most likely being due to it being the first 6 series miniLED implementation, and second TCL miniLED TV, being after the Q825
Sony processing second to none I don't think so , have a Panasonic MZ2000 a A95L ,and a Jvc projector , Best processing in my home is Panasonic and JVC sony is 3rd .
I completely agree. I just hope Sony considers adjusting their prices to be more competitive. They seem overpriced in the mini-LED market, especially when compared to Samsung, TCL, and Hisense, which offer similar technology at more affordable prices.
Most people can't afford a Bravia9. TCL and Hisense make very good tv’s at more affordable prices. And from what I've read, Hisense is better at shadow detail than TCL, and also quite bright.
@@larryhoffman7471 In my business and home I own many TVs at all price ranges. I had a TCL 6 series in one of my lounges and it failed within 2 years. I also bought a different TCL for my mother and it failed in about the same time. One of my employees has a TCL that currently restarts itself. On the flip side I have approximately 10 Sony TVs in other rooms, including a lobby display running 24/7 since 2016 (Sony 850C) that all are all working as good as new. Reliability needs to improve with TCL. Maybe Hisesnse is more reliable?
I totally agree-Sony’s processing is definitely superior, especially in upscaling and fine details. TCL’s processor can’t quite match up in that area, no doubt. However, the difference isn’t night and day when it comes to HDR performance, which is where TCL really shines. The question is, should Sony continue to charge such a premium for those processing perks? Maybe 🤔… But with TCL catching up in so many areas, it could push Sony to reconsider pricing, especially in the MiniLED market. It’s an interesting debate for sure!
I think people like these RUclipsrs need to learn the definition of "budget" tv a tv that costs $1,699 to 1,725 isnt budget thats expensive budget is a 300$ tv anyone whos dumb enough to drop 1 band or more on a TV needs an IQ check because monitors cost way less for more performance
If it's brighter and cheaper, that's a win for TCL
Max - I hope you get to compare these with the Panasonic Mini-led W95A.
I’d still take the 85 Bravia 9 all day. I am proud of TCL for coming so far.
I miss the Bravia 9 🥲
W95A vs QM8 pls
I didn't get a chance to review the W95A as of yet.
TCL QM8 or Hisense U8N 65 and 75 inch?

What happened to your Bravia 9? Also, how does the qm8 compare to it?
TCL QM8 is amazing, but there's a reason Sony TVs are so much more expensive. They are a master of their craft as far as image quality is concerned.
💯💯% sir!
How is it for watching sports using satellite or cable?
It’s just ok. If you want me to rate it right now I would give it a “C” motion still needs some work.
C855 >qm8 or qm8 > c855 ?
What’s that demo with the woman with the red jacket on in the woods?

This set looks good. Good video.
What’s Different between QM8 , QM8B , C755 ???
what if someone doesn't really like hdr and prefer sdr instead?
The SDR is decent but the Sony Bravia 9 does a better job once you fine-tune the picture settings.
tcl qm8 uk equivalent?
Merci

@mchambliss2 Your right for tcl to come that be dam near the same performance for almost half the price , Sony does need to come down.
Sony x95k vs Sony x90L
X95K is better. X90L was not that great. I had both and now have the Bravia 9.

The TCL processor it’s garbage, can’t compare that with a Sonys processor better upscaling better details!

S90D is a solid TV 👍🏾
