The S20 fe won't have any software updates left. It's much slimmer and lighter than the S24 fe. With the S24 fe you don't have a sd card slot but you get a better camera, display is better and you get the AI stuff. Plus it will have better battery life.
If i were buying one of these, I'd buy the S24FE, i am such a pixel fan but, man that display is way too small for me these days. I'd miss the cameras, but i watch videos & movies more than i take pictures, i also believe this is the BEST FE samsung has ever made. I agree its over priced, even still. It's a damn nice phone.
I have the standard S24 and picked up an 8a on Amazon a few weeks ago just because I missed having a Pixel around and man, when I switch to the 8a, I really don't miss the "flagship" experience of the S24, not to mention the HAPTICS on the Pixel are just incredible, genuinely the OS feels alive with all the little buzzes and taps I love it lol
Hey Steve, one important detail with regard to the flash memory in the S24 FE and the 128 Gb and 256/512 Gb variants - the 128 Gb version has UFS 3.1 compliant internal memory versus the UFS 4.0 compliant memory in the 256 & 512 Gb versions. An important detail IMO for those who care about such things in their devices.
And all Pixels also have UFS 3.1, which is still fast enough for 99% of users. What matters more than the UFS standard is the quality of memory itself, because the speed can vary based of how well made the memory chips are. It all just comes down to chasing spec numbers on paper, you won't notice a difference in real life usage.
@@vaultboy1419 Ah, yes! The classic argument of “the majority of the users won’t notice”. The only way these companies will learn not to shortchange their customers is if a majority of users are literate about such matters and get their feedback heard. People need to start voting with their wallets.
If I had to pick between the two, 8a all the way. I'm not a Pixel fanboy, nor have I even owned one. But man, the black 8a LOOKS and FEELS like my 2017 Galaxy J3 Prime, which is a huge plus to me. I don't mind the plastic back, it feels just as good as glass but without any durability concerns. Smaller bezels on the FE are cool, but I'm not too particularly bothered.
Hey Steve, setting aside the price on the S24 fe, compared to S24, and the S24 Plus, and or S24 Ultra, how do you equate that with budget as you called the S24 fe? This is the first time I have heard of an "S" class phone being called a budget device, unless it is directly being compared to another S class phone from Samsung. As you know, Samsung has its own dedicated "mid-range" or "budget" range in the A range of phones. As for the Pixel 8a, Google actually does call it a budget device, but with the same internals as the Pixel 8, or Pixel 8 XL while the S24 fe does not have the same internals as the rest of the range.
With my trade in it's actually reversed. The 24 is actually slightly cheaper than the 8A. I hate my Pixel 7, I loved my Pixel 2 before it died. I don't care about gaming, Pkmn Go is the only thing I play and it's not often. I want a smaller phone than my heavy ass 7. Better pics is okay but doesn't matter much to me.... I still need to do more research but I'm pretty sure the 8A will be the last google phone I buy. I decided a while ago I want to switch to Samsung, but I really like how the 8A is. I need to do more research but this is a great start for my decision.
I bought a 8a release day when I broke my 14 Pro Max. It was good phone with terrible cameras. I got the 24 FE last week for free from ATT and it's actually much better than I expected. Screen is nice and vibrant, performance is great. Cameras are better than a lot of reviewers are saying it is. My daily is a P9P and other than the simplicity of the Pixel software, I've been liking the 24 FE more.
I wish. I never found one at a decent price. Even like a year later, they still wanted over $1,000. If I got one somehow, I would definitely do videos on it.
I would definitely take the pixel 8a. All this gaming crap is not a selling point to me at all...or to most people. And the Samsung is just way too massive, I'll never go back to a large phone, l and I have big man-hands. My current pixel 8 is a 6.2" screen and it's a perfect size for me, 8a is only slightly smaller.
S24FE all day! 449 with any old Android trade in and has DeX! That Pixel bar design is so dated. And sweet baby jebus those bezels are big on the 8A. Even the A15 has smaller bezels
@@robertzoufood I would go with the pixel 8a personally. And I'm not a pixel fanboy. That big screen on the Samsung is also way too big for me. I won't go back to a large phone again, now that I have a 6.2 in screen it's perfect for me, and I have large hands, It's easier to fish in and out of my pockets, I find. People make a big fuss over the bezels...which is quite petty to me? And the user experience with the pixel phones seems to be very highly rated by most people that switch from a different brand of phone to their first pixel. I'm not a gamer so all that stuff means absolutely nothing to me, but if you are a gamer, you may want to lean towards the Samsung if what he said is true about the Samsung being better in that area??? Also, pixel 8A is the leader in photo quality here, which is quite important to me...Maybe not so much to others? Good luck with your decision and hope you're happy with whatever you decide on. There's just way too many choices out there and that's what makes it so hard😂
The regular S24 is only $70 more, but is it worth it? I’m genuinely curious, as I want to try a Samsung for my next phone. I had the Galaxy S6 that I loved, but been on iPhones and Pixels since then.
Only criticism I would level at the S24 is it has the same base specs as the S10: 128GB of storage, 8GB of RAM, and a triple camera setup. But that criticism is true of most phones. You might also be frustrated at the camera quality as the iPhone and Pixel are ahead. The benefits of the S24 will be the processor and the software suite. It's much more than just the UI. It's Dex, Routines, Good Lock. There are many good things there that can make the phone more than a phone. At this point Android updates are usually years late implementing features that Samsung had on their phones years ago. Case in point, Android 15 finally released a very basic desktop experience, which is similar to but nowhere near as polished, as Dex.
@@hermanwooster8944 I honestly couldn’t care less about cameras as I feel they are all “good enough” for what I need them for, which isn’t much. I’m just so bored of iOS, and now Pixels are the iPhones of Android; good, but just plain boring. I haven’t used a Samsung in years, but they seem way more customizable and have cool features, like Dex. Maybe I’m just tired of smartphones in general 🤷♂️😆

@@hermanwooster8944 Thanks! I’m going to get a Samsung for my next phone. iMessage was the only thing keeping me on iPhone, which is now obsolete with RCS.
2:40 a less expensive "flagship"? That s24fe is not worth 650.00. it's a rip-off, especially for exynos. This is exactly why the A55 hasn't come out because it's a better phone under $400.00 with Snapdragon "upsidedowncake ". It literally beats the S24FE
Different phones for different people!
Is it worth upgrading from s20 fe to s24 fe display-wise?
Great channel btw!
Great question, cause im thinking about purchasing s20 fe secondhand.
