Thank you so much for reviewing the base Pixel 9. Nobody else is doing this. I got my Pixel 9 on the release date and so far am absolutely loving it. Didn't know how I would feal about the more boxy design but I have gotten used to it. Also the speakers are something nobody is talking about, which is a shame because I think they are very nice.
Yes, the speakers on the Pixel 9 Pro are fantastic too! Way better than my S21's. Unfortunately, there's no EQ settings on the Pixels. Funny thing, my S21 scrolls much smoother than the Pixel on apps like Reddit, FB, etc. That really surprised me. But the upcoming Android 15 update is supposed to improve that, we'll see. One huge benefit to the Samsungs is they're much lighter and less bulky. I always use cases, so having a light phone is important to me since a solid case adds weight/heft. I came to this video because I'm considering returning the Pixel Pro and getting an S24. I think I'm going to download the beta of 15 and see if that improves the performance a bit.

I would have to say the s24 as I don't notic it due to the weight and size. I also love Android because of customization however it's very difficult to customize the pixel ironically do to the locked home screen layout. In the had the pixel is great and I love the screen and the speakers, so it's a hard choice that's for sure.

Thank you for mentioning the fact that the pixel captures your skin tone better! My wife and you have the same skin tone, and she mentioned that she found the s24 captured her skin tone very unnatural.
The glossy finish on the Pixel 9 is an advantage in my book; I have bought and returned the S24 because the matt finish on the glass back made it ridiculously slippery in my hand (I don't like to use cases on my phones). I can live with the more visible fingerprints on a glossy finish, which is better than having the phone fly out off my hand which I felt was going to happen every time I took the S24 out of my pocket. Every phone I've owned has had a glossy finish and I'm sticking with that going forward, so despite the fact prefer the S24 (mainly because of the zoom lens), I'd pick he Pixel 9 just because it has that glossy finish.
I have a samsung s23 ultra and i'll say that I do love samsung products, but I don't like that I have to get the Ultra to get a spec'd out phone. Its too big and believe it or not it hurts my fingers after a while because of it's size. other then that though I can't imagine that the camera could be much better. Multi tasking is rediculously easy and the display on Samsung is the best on the market. Using the S Pen for selfies is extremely underrated too. Both my parents have iphones and the colors just don't pop like they do on my phone samsung. Really would like a high performing phone without it being so big though. I think if so many people didnt have such bad experiences with androids before, they would like them better then Iphones. They can do everything an Iphone can and more. So much smoother now too. I don't ever have anything buggy happening with my phone. I used to with instagram videos but thankfully that has ended though. Overall satisfied with the phone. Just not worth getting arthritis for it. lol

I already knew the Pixel 9 benchmarks are unacceptable but I got my hands on both s24 ultra and pixel 9 pro today in store. Both were on t mobile 5 g with no WiFi. The pixel was like 130 down and 3 up. Samsung was almost 400 down and over 100 up. I downloaded t care how much ai it has. There is no way they can justify the hardware and network numbers they are putting out.
I use the s23. Which is the s24 basically. They didn't upgrade anything. I use, both apple and android. Apple works more consistently with apps and basic functions. The Samsung has better camera but the iphone still takes better video.
Every time I see this standard Pixel 9, I can't get it out of my head that it's just a Pixel 8 Pro in a new chassis and a compact size, but mostly without the 5X zoom sensor and without the Pro Camera 📸 features 🤔 And as much as I can't justify the iPhone 15 with its 60 hertz screen in 2024, I can't justify this Pixel 9 at its price with its processor at the level of processors dating back 3 years (8 Gen 1 / 8+ Gen 1 / A14) . And for me, S23 / S23 Plus are currently a much better deals than both smartphones I mentioned above. 🙏🏽
Overall, no one will buy a Pixel to take pictures and an S24 to take video. There is very little difference between them for any reviewer to give specifics on other than one is set up to run in the Google infrastructure only vs the other which lives in both the Samsung AND Google infrastructure. It all depends on price point really and Google did increase the price of the Pixel since Samsung did not realizing that Samsung did not sell enough S24 and Z series phones due to the inflated price they're asking and poor trade-in values. This means that Google Pixel sales will indeed suffer as well.
I will never trust Google again because Pixel 6 supposedly was going to have 5 years worth of updates and one of those casually ruined me the same month the 9 dropped. I bought the S24. I USE TO have a Pixel 6 and I loved it, best phone I have ever had. I was sure I was going to buy a Pixel 9 or 10 or whatever after "I decided" I was done with the 6. But then an update came and my phone just died, bricked. I was not the only one, Google has done nothing for us users with this problem. Almost at the same time Pixel 9 was shown for the first time, what a coincidence. I was left in a very bad position economically because I really needed a phone to work and I don´t buy phones by the year. It was disappointing because it was a really good phone.
I have a pixel 6 pro and I'm also having some issues lately like in the camera app I can't zoom in and out, it just doesn't respond. Or sometimes the phone turns black for a minute or two and suddenly it works again. Not talking about the microwave it becomes in summer day conditions, it's unusable then! No phone is perfect and I love many things about the pixel but I'm also very very hesitating about buying another pixel.... Lately I've been drawn more towards buying an S24 as my next device over the pixel 9 series.....
It all comes down to the company. Samsung. People think getting anything else is low class. Most Samsung users are equal to Iphone users. Most could care less about specs. They just want the BRAND name. Flash pizazz. Its a look now. Just like the Iphone. Ive had most phones including the FE that offered the last sd card slot!! I just got the pixel 9 pro. Its awesome. I guess im just not as classy anymore now that i don't have a Samsung.
S24 for me. Has the better LTPO display, telephoto lens and the faster 4.0 storage available on the 256gb version. The comparison should be with the pro version, not the base pixel 9.
That camera module is irritating, I just want to snap it off because it looks so out of place! Couldn't they smoothed out those razor-sharp edges! You literally can hang the phone from that camera bump😅
So basically Google made the new 9 looks like Samsungs and iPhone. Brick like design. The Pixel 8 was more uniquely a Pixel. Prefer the 8 series design. I'm sure 9 is a great phone but I'm keeping my 8a for a long time.
@RUclipsdeletedmycomment never had issues with any of my Pixels. You either know or you don't . Loved my Note 4 years ago. Legendary Samsung phone. Way ahead of it's time. Pixel photos crap on Samsung and iPhone pics.

A refurbished samsung, that speaks alot. And FYI samsung apps works better than Google apps except for messages.
I would have to say the s24 as I don't notic it due to the weight and size. I also love Android because of customization however it's very difficult to customize the pixel ironically do to the locked home screen layout. In the had the pixel is great and I love the screen and the speakers, so it's a hard choice that's for sure.
Google is becoming Apple and Samsung but without the quality and benefits.
Hi I just got my pixel 9 just wondering does it have that 5g ultra band? I have that Visbile + and I went driving all over the city and it did not show up not once. did not even see it in the setting
Team Pixel (I'm watching this from the Pixel 8 pro)
Team Galaxy (I'm watching this from the S21+)
Me too
Watching on my 7pro 🩷
im torn between these 2 phones. atleast here in finland you can get the base s24 for 719 usd, but the the pixel 9 costs almost 1052 usd...
I have been waiting for the pixel 9 pro for over a few months but it's way over priced. 516gb variant here in au is costing over $2000 whilst I am getting Samsung S24 (on offer) at just under $1400 for same variant
I would prefer S24 display in terms of brightness because if you are not going with nits the S24 is brighter in daily use than the Google
Point and shoot pictures of any Pixels are ALWAYS superior to Samsung and i have owned Samsung Notes, S6 to S22. Stock.Android is also better experience for me. Clean, simple and fast.
s24 vs pixel 9pro have sense?¿ because pixel 9 pro is the same size than pixel 9,
ty
Great reviews thanks
I just purchased the Pixel 9 online today. So excited can't wait for it to come in the mail.
How do you like it? I just ordered it. I'm upgrading from a Samsung Galaxy S10e.
@@rossallen738 The pixel 9 is an awesome phone. I love it so far and don't regret buying it. The camera is great and the AI stuff is cool too. Definitely a big upgrade from the Galaxy S10 e.

Thank you for mentioning the fact that the pixel captures your skin tone better! My wife and you have the same skin tone, and she mentioned that she found the s24 captured her skin tone very unnatural.
Thanks! I prefer smaller phones and no ones covering them
The glossy finish on the Pixel 9 is an advantage in my book; I have bought and returned the S24 because the matt finish on the glass back made it ridiculously slippery in my hand (I don't like to use cases on my phones).
Big point about the sharp edges! Didn't think about that!!😮
KJ, it's amazing how your videos have improved over time. Best of luck in growing the channel. I just subscribed 👍🏻
Appreciate the comment 🙏🏿
I expected just one take, the comparsion (in hands) of their sizes :( but anyways, nice video! We need more options of small phones
Watching this on my pixel 9 pro xl. Just got it yesterday from spectrum mobile for only $599 without a trade in
I have a samsung s23 ultra and i'll say that I do love samsung products, but I don't like that I have to get the Ultra to get a spec'd out phone. Just not worth getting arthritis for it. lol
I need your pixel 9 theme customization
When am looking for base phone reviews
KJ is the man appreciate you bro
Good comparison brotha, thank you
When is the pixel buds pro 2 review coming?
And I have the quite old One plus 8 pro. It's Great.
Yo display on the Galaxy S24 series this year is untouchable. The anti reflective coating doesn't get the respect it deserves. Guys put any high end phone display released this year next to the S24 outside and it will eat them for breakfast, launch and dinner lol. The difference is very very noticeable, atleast I the 15PM and S24U so I know for sure
Only the ultra got that anti reflective coating
@@jtec99 Oooh I thought they all have the same display as the S24U since it wasn't mentioned that its only the S24U the uses the Anti reflective glass. Sorry to the regular S24 users 😂
@@icentuche90 yeah I've got the S24 plus. Disappointing to not have that ultra glass. Maybe they'll put itt in all the S25 series though
@@jtec99 That will be better
@@icentuche90Why care about a gimmick?
I would take the s24 only because I have a lot of Samsung products other than the pixel fold. I like to keep at least one pixel phone in my rotation
Amazing reviews. Hope to have one of these one day. About the Google Pixel 9,it looks like an iPhone tho but it's cool. Companies are stepping up their game
You didn’t talk about the network reception or the call quality. It is a phone after all.
Never had an issue with that
I already knew the Pixel 9 benchmarks are unacceptable but I got my hands on both s24 ultra and pixel 9 pro today in store. Both were on t mobile 5 g with no WiFi. The pixel was like 130 down and 3 up. Samsung was almost 400 down and over 100 up. I downloaded t care how much ai it has. There is no way they can justify the hardware and network numbers they are putting out.
And you know.
I Do not like the shape of the new 9 camera module. It's better integrated into the sides of the phone as on the 8.
Galaxy = hardware
Pixel = software
I use the s23. Which is the s24 basically. They didn't upgrade anything. I use, both apple and android. Apple works more consistently with apps and basic functions. The Samsung has better camera but the iphone still takes better video.
Oh. And Google going to Charge for some New features. Forget me.
Every time I see this standard Pixel 9, I can't get it out of my head that it's just a Pixel 8 Pro in a new chassis and a compact size, but mostly without the 5X zoom sensor and without the Pro Camera 📸 features 🤔
And as much as I can't justify the iPhone 15 with its 60 hertz screen in 2024, I can't justify this Pixel 9 at its price with its processor at the level of processors dating back 3 years (8 Gen 1 / 8+ Gen 1 / A14) .
I've been enjoying using the Pixel 9 since I got it. Great video as always👍🏾. Hopefully we see a Pixel 9 Vs iPhone 15 video soon
Lately I've been drawn more towards buying an S24 as my next device over the pixel 9 series.....
great video bro
for me it's the pixel 9 I like the design and photos
your channel deserves more subs
Out of these two, I'd buy pixels 9, and cameras are very important to me.
I have an s24+ and i used to have a pixel 7. Loved the size of the 7 but my s24+ had been running great, Samsung just takes an L with updates
Don’t you think 19.5 : 9 aspect Ratio is better than 20:9
@RUclipsdeletedmycomment width matters :)
Great video. I'm team pixel but I wish the price hadn't changed.
S24 is best value by far
Explain why plz?
It all comes down to the company. Samsung. People think getting anything else is low class. Most Samsung users are equal to Iphone users. Most could care less about specs. They just want the BRAND name. Flash pizazz. Its a look now. Just like the Iphone. Ive had most phones including the FE that offered the last sd card slot!! I just got the pixel 9 pro. Its awesome. I guess im just not as classy anymore now that i don't have a Samsung.
Only main provlem is s24 has exynos 2400 in most places which is still fire but i wanted sd. Still veats tensor tho
Pretty sure the s24 and pixel 8 were compared before the pixel 9,
Your color grading is kinda ruining the watching experience
Pixel 9 captures RAW images ?
Display which one is better?
Pixel for me
Went from a Samsung to a Pixel... Pixel is a much cleaner of an experience.
It is.
Why would you compare a phone that's been out longer than a phone that just came out. By the way the pixel came out of the box on Android 14.🤔
Why shouldn't he? The S24 is Samsung's latest S series flagship.
Google compared the S24U in their press release video.
S24 for me. Has the better LTPO display, telephoto lens and the faster 4.0 storage available on the 256gb version. The comparison should be with the pro version, not the base pixel 9.
Yeah way better man pixel are shit fall apart after 6 months
@@chrisdooner2824 It seems like they are getting better with the hardware tho. That's a must especially when you charge premium prices.
Also thinner bezels and lighter.
currently s24 is MUCH cheaper in my country ...
The Pixel 9 is ~950$ in Europe, so I definitely will not waste my money by buying the other one.
Pixel photos crap on Samsung and iPhone pics.
great video 🤗 think I'll give the pixel a try 🤔😀
