    This is very good. I'm actually learning something with the history of the Super Soldier program. I remember when people considered MK LTRA, Manchurian candidate, remote viewing, etc. to be conspiracy theories (some still), but I like the detailed info presented. Good job. (Can we get a history of Claymore, Star Brigade Trooper, and the Renegades, please?)

    Correction; It’s not project MK Search it was project MC Serch which made it pretty far, I’d say to 3rd Base to use a baseball analogy, but researchers never quite brought the project home leading to a Return of the Product back to the Chinese scientists that lent us the base ingredients that were used…
    I’m so sorry… 😔

      Yes I remember this. The Prime Minister was involved also. I believe his name was Pete Nice. Participants of the project had to wake up early and Step into the A.M. for their training. They did weird things to test their endurance like giving them the Gas Face.

    I can’t believe how awesome this video is! Your work is always well done, but this is next-level! Your references to Nietzsche and MK-Ultra were not only appropriate, but very well executed! Excellent job!!

    I use to draw and create characters all the time when I was young. I actually mailed a bunch of them to Hasbro one time and they wrote back that they weren't allowed to use any. But a few characters they put out were similar to some of mine. One Character I created was the G.I.JOE version of Serpentor, as in being a clone. He was bigger and stronger and contained DNA of all the Joe's.....hence his name, ALL STAR.

    This is the Joe Bio that reaffirms my reason for subscribing to this channel.
    I am joyed by the upload of this bio and saddened for not acquiring the action figure as a kid. I still rewatch the super trooper tv spot from the 1980's lol

    Of course, GI Joe was something I gravitated to just like most boys in the 80s. Then I joined the Marines and found myself laughing at certain situations, because either one of the Joes were in something similar, or I figured they would've been wiped out doing whatever it was and wearing those outfits. This guy always came to mind whenever a task involving concealment was presented. Pretty sure the guys in my platoons thought I was losing my mind, but my brain would nerd-out picturing Super Trooper in a chrome uniform, skulking around behind enemy lines and no one noticing him. Or maybe they did, and figured it was so ludicrous, that it had to be a joke. Good internal laughs when reality and your childhood imagination intersect. Oh, and I was highly disappointed that I couldn't wear my cammies like Gung-Ho. Turning your blouse into a vest wasn't encouraged. Although having salty cammies like his was a norm.

    After a good long while of avoiding it, I finally took a look at the G.I.Joe devils due comics, and I must say, I tottaly see why those comics got decannonized, I apologize to fans of the DDP series, I respect the fact that they were trying with those comics, but honestly, I thought the Devils Due G.I.Joe series, was a really bad run. I knew there was a red flag when I saw that Larry Hama was not involved in the comics at all. To me that was just criminal, because Larry wrote 98% of the Marvel run, he is G.I.Joe, but they don't bring him back for a story that's suposed to continue his comics, not even as like a consultant? That is just wrong on so many levels. But beyond that, I thought the writing was dreadful, the ideas they had to be shaky at best, when they added elements from the cartoon it made the series not blend well with the hamaverse comics, the characters acted extremely out of character half the time, it was extremley sexist during certain bits, the roster of character usage was questionable, but the worst part just behind the sexism, is there were a lot of joes that died and it was all meaningless, pointless deaths, none of the Joes that died got any fanfare it just felt like a lame ass attempt to prove they're comics were for adults. Despite the stories not being cannon anymore, I will never forgive DDP for how they treated Lady Jaye through out the run and for killing her off! It didn't feel like a continuation of Larry Hama's G.I.Joe, it felt like a G.I.Joe series by and for edgy 20 somethings in a post 9/11 world, stories that market to that crowd from what I've seen are universally bad.

    • @jakeproven256
      @jakeproven256 Год назад

      @@commathreeprod.7937 I gave an example in the comment! Lady jayes death was just pure unadulterated exploitation, but beyond that women are treated as weak throughout the damn series! Joe coulton is also a sexist but he survives his attack and lj doesn’t! The fact peeling like you can believe these comics aren’t sexist is nothing short of baffling!

    He was very shiny but aside from the vest and shield nothing more then one of those "Frankenstein"figures they made using other parts.I immediately knew who was used to make him and compared to other figure offers in the past where we got something mostly new,he was lame.and of course we can't forget he's a ripoff of captain America.he had a definate"a toy exec thought this was a great idea"feel to him.

    As silly as the Super Soldier figure/concept is, the British version is just all kinds of stupid. All of those resources dumped into an essentially pre-historic contest of attrition that results in _one_ Super Trooper and the death of the runner/s-up; a _colossal_ waste considering the absurd amount of skills and experience that the candidates are required to have. It does feel consistent with the weirdly morbid feeling that often seemed to possess the UK comics though (more so the original, Action Force vs. Red Shadows stories but still palpable after the switch to fighting Cobra). Also, for some reason, the UK artist for the Super Soldier data-file seems to have been under the impression that he was drawing Johnny Alpha from _Strontium Dog._
