My Tia Ita used to make this for me every time I went to Chile, she passed 4 years ago and now I want to learn how to make it for myself and my children. Great warm memories from home.
I made this pie last year, well made two.☺️ And it is absolutely amazing! I changed nothing, and I am happy to say I will be baking it again this year! Thank you for all you do.😊
I just made this as I was gifted a giant paper bag of limes from a client. Pie was done and sitting in the fridge for a couple of hours to set. Used my graham crust recipe since I couldn’t find any Biscoff where I was shopping. I was actually planning on waiting til tomorrow to try it since I hadn’t made a coconut whipped cream coz I forgot to refrigerate the can. But after having made some lime chicken tacos for dinner, was craving dessert and I couldn’t help it. Holy cow! This is a flippin’ amaaaaaazing pie!!!! So delicious! I have to stop myself from cutting another slice. So so so soooo good! Well worth the effort! Deeeelish!!! 😋 Thank you for sharing this recipe! ❤️🌈✨
I tried this for thanksgiving. Used organic lime juice (a good one with no fillers.) Also used the biscoff crust. AMAZING! Everyone loved it. Thanks man.
This is the absolute best key lime pie recipe. Using the Biscoff cookies really makes it different and much better. I get so many requests for it. Everyone raves about it and it is so easy. Thank you John. You are awesome!

I have been using Biscoff cookies as a cheesecake base & other such pies for years...good to see others appreciate using them as a pie base like this, as well...great minds think alike!
@@marblessed9597 Once I could not find Biscoff cookies for a pie shell, so my wife pulled a box of Nabisco Ginger Snaps cookies off the shelf. It too is a sandy type cookie, makes a great crumb for a pie, and similar to a speculoos type. Try that sometime.
Thank you for the clear instructions for a novice baker who is quite clumsy in the kitchen. This has turned out SO well, can't wait to try all your other pies! ❤
Hi John! My daughter snd i love your show and have been watching it regularly for 4 years. Your key lime pie is wonderful. Its s really good recipe. Being from Florida though we don't tint our pie green. Key lime pie traditionally is not green or tinted green. It is a pale yellow. But anyway! We love you. You have a beautiful family. We are now living in Boston and would love to come and visit the farm one day.
I've not used condensed milk (I used for making Key lime pie) in my coffee. It sounds tasty. I'll have to try John's practice of adding it to my coffee.
It's literally crazy how you read my mind! I was just at my grandma's and we were talking about how we love key lime pie and I said I wanted to learn how to make it. Can't wait to try it!
I discovered your channel last week and since then, I’ve been binge watching your videos! Wish I discovered your channel sooner! Now, I’m on a baking frenzy.
WARNING: recipe calls for 21 net weight ounces of condensed milk (or 1 1/2 cans) NOT 21 fluid ounces. I made this last night and used way too much condensed milk. We're having it for dessert tonight so we'll see how it tastes. Coming out of the oven it was not fragrant of key limes. It's not going to taste bad, I just don't think it will be fragrant and zingy. UPDATE: it was delicious. I still want it to be limeyer and zingyer so I'm going to make it again with the right amount of condensed milk and a touch more zest.
I know this may come as a shock to you but over here in the UK we used to have a weights and measures system that would seriously blow your mind. Sovereigns, Pounds, Shillings, Pennies, Halfpennies, Farthings. Miles, Lengths, Furlongs, Rods, Poles, Perches, Hands, Spans...don't even get me started on measuring the depth of water. Anyway, as much as we and the French have a mutual dislike for each other historically we cannot dispute the fact that SI unit based on base 10 was a pretty good idea and easily translates measurements from one thing to another, so 1litre weighs 1kg which means 250ml of liquid is 250 grams. Lose all the cups and outdated measuring system and just adopt the international standard, and before you start screaming your currency is based upon a base 10 system! 1 dollar = 100 cents......base 10
@@jimscullion7466 Are you kidding? I would love to use metric. I just made a double batch of Rice Krispies treats and I was not about figuring out multiples of 2/3 and 1 1/2. And since marshmallows are awkward to measure by the cup, I calculated the grams of a cup of marshmallows and a cup of Rice Krispies and used my kitchen scale to measure it all out. So much easier. I am all about easy.
Hi, I am from Panama. And since the covid19 I only do groceries trough on line service-delivery and it is hard sometimes to get all the ingredients. In this case I was not able to get graham or biscuff cookies so I used keebler already crust. I only used half of lime juice and just one can of condensed milk. I didnt got the whipping cream so I used the whites left from the recipe and I love it. I know that if I can get all the ingredients next time, I will love it more. It was tangy and I love the combination of sweet and sour. Now I cant stop thinking of making IT again. I had to eat it all since it was too tangy for my husband and my little girl but I dont have any regrets. So i made them the smores cookies recipe but without the graham, instead I used little pieces of peanuts. Of course the results wasnt the same but they were happy with their sweets. I love watching you. Thanks and I Also made your peanut butter cookies! Yeah
Key lime pie is one of my absolute favorites! It has to be good key lime pie though none of that neon green crap You get from most supermarket bakeries! I definitely will try the preppy guys Recipe.
Have you tried it? I'm wanting to get familiar with key lime pie so i can make one for my friend's birthday and I want it to be good. I don't usually care for it, but probably because I've only had those neon supermarket pies lol.
Made this for my dad for Father’s Day. Never made a key lime pie before and i made a few mistakes but it still turned out great! Great recipe and definitely a good tip to use real lime juice!
I’ve been cooking for my family on weekends since the beginning of the year. Your key Lime pie will go well with my prime rib and tequila lime shrimp. I really like your recipes, Ive made several, they are easy to make and delicious. I’m always looking for new or interesting recipes and its great to find your channel.
I tried this recipe this last weekend. It reminds me of visiting the Florida Keys twenty years ago and eating a well made pie there. Your recipe came very close to what I remember twenty years ago. It was missing the warm sandy beach, a margarita, and my wife sitting next to me. But that's okay!
Made this today. I only had normal limes, but it came out lovely - thank you it's a really easy recipe - the hardest thing is juicing the limes! So tasty. Thanks again. Another favourite to add to our lockdown baking journal 💖
Technically, the introduction of key limes is a later version of this kinda recipe. So, you weren't doing it wrong. You were just making an older version!
Made this yesterday! RAVE REVIEWS. But my crust ... toasted walnuts and pecans, crushed as tiny as I could get them. Equal amounts of both nuts to equal amount of graham crackers. The nuts ... oh my gosh. My food processor is on the blink. But perseverance wins the day. AWESOME RECIPE!!!! I have never made one before ... wow oh wow! Thank you so much for this recipe!
Dude, all ur stuff is awesome! My family and I have enjoyed so many of your recipes. Keep em coming. I pretty much make all of your desserts. My kids decide on which one to make and then we make it together. Thank you for all that you do. Keep doing your thing. Thanks again man!✌🏻👊🏻
OMG. You are The BEST! This pie is outrageous. I lived in Fla as a boy and key lime pie was a staple and a fond memory . I’m making this ASAP. Thanks for your energy and positivity.
I am a pastry chef in Jackson, MS, and I learn so much from watching all of your videos! You are my favorite You Tuber!!! Love and sugar, brother, lol ;)
Hello PK. A Key Lime is a precious treasure of extraordinary flavor!! The key limes we picked from our tree in Miami were *yellow when ripe* and extremely juicy and delicious. I'm always surprised when I see someone using green, unripened key limes....but then I guess we use the key limes to which we have access. Your key line pie is gorgeous...if only I could taste it. Regards from---no key limes here---France
I think I can do this. I bought ginger snaps for the crust. But I ate a lot of them because I put off making the pie. Now I really MUST use the key limes so no more procrastinating. I went back to the store and bought a box Graham crackers. Maybe I’ll mix what’s left of the ginger snaps with Graham crackers. Good to know I can make this tonight and refrigerate for tomorrow. Thank you so much for the video. 💚🍈
I love this pageeee! Ramadan started a couple days ago and so far I have made tres leches, cookies, eclairs and some other stuff but personally the eclairs were yummmyyy thank you for being YOU❤️😊
I made this pie and it was wonderful. Best recipe I have used. I was confused by the volume of the sweetened condensed milk. A 14 ounce can measures only 10 ounces of milk by volume. So it was confusing as to how much to use. 21 ounces measured by volume or 1.5 cans which have 10 ounces (15 ounces by volume). I guess the net weight of the milk is different than the volume. Others may be confused by this too.
It’s so soothing to watch you bake. I love how clean and neat you bake throughout the process. All the recipes I’ve tried from you are all amazing. Thank you so much. When can I buy your cookbook?

I've not used condensed milk (I used for making Key lime pie) in my coffee. It sounds tasty. I'll have to try John's practice of adding it to my coffee.
Why us thus delightful guy not 300lbs
@@cindyrobertson3798 Portion control, he probably has the discipline to eat only one slice and use one tablespoon of sweetener in his coffee
He's so cute
In Vietnam they do iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk. It is the best thing ever.
Made it! Used a plastic bag and rolling pin and an ancient mixer. I found the key limes at a Mexican market. My daughter’s favorite and she loved it.
It's literally crazy how you read my mind! I was just at my grandma's and we were talking about how we love key lime pie and I said I wanted to learn how to make it. Can't wait to try it!
I have made this recipe now a dozen times, and every single time it is a great success! Really recommend it!
John: uploads a video
Me: aggressively clicks
i appreciate the use of the word zest in all of the duration of this video it was like an itch to my brain.
I discovered your channel last week and since then, I’ve been binge watching your videos! Wish I discovered your channel sooner! Now, I’m on a baking frenzy.
I made this pie last weekend. I was told it was the most delicious lime pie ever, and I must agree. I used twice the amount of heavy whipped cream.
I hope it goes well on your 2nd try, if it doesn't work try again, on a side note I absolutely loooove key lime pie.
Has to be all the talking he does 😢
I know this may come as a shock to you but over here in the UK we used to have a weights and measures system that would seriously blow your mind.
Desde Puerto Rico absolutamente delicioso!! Un abrazo
Your recipes never disappoint. It was delicious!
I used a juicer the second time I made this pie. It was much easier than squeezing all those lemons
“I have a bunch of key limes” low key lime flex
I made this and took it work, went down really well with my colleagues. It tasted amazing, thank you from England
Can’t believe I haven’t come across this channel before. This man’s excitement about food is really infectious 😌
I made it and is SO GOOD 👍🏾. Best Pie
I made it yesterday based on your recipe!
It was perfect key lime pie.
My family liked a lot!

I like baking very much and it's so great and refreshing to follow your recipe. A very nice one, thank you
I've never tried key lime pie cause its more an american thing. But seeing you make it so beautifully has inspired me to give it a go XD
I made this pie twice yesterday for two birthdays. I couldn’t believe it but I found key limes, and the pies turned out perfect.
I watch John's Vid's bc his recipes are the GOURMET Version! All are Excellent!!!
I'm about to make some lime cheesecake and this makes me so pumped to get it made. I use ginger cookies for my crust and lots of whipped cream!
I like the Biscott cookie idea! Looks delicious! Thanks for demonstrating a simple and direct way to make a delicious treat.
Agreed ... excellent choice!
I was LITERALLY thinking I need to make key lime pie soon! Can you read minds, John?!
@Henlo 🤣🤣🤣 Guess it was just a matter of time then!!
Movers & Bakers same same
😂 Same here. Or a custard pie.
Movers and Bakers yes he can cause I was thinking the same thing!!
I have made this twice just the way you said and it's delicious.. thank you
I dont like condensed milk but for you, John, I’ll do it
Condensed milk is ahmazing
Who hurt you?
I'm generally not a fan but after squeezing all that fresh lime juice into it, I don't think you'll even be able to tell! 😂
I like that you are always happy. Love your dishes!
