I skipped around in the video a bit, but if y'all didn't mention global shutter, that's another thing that's a point in the Komodo's favor vs the S6 (if shooting anything that moves fast). The E2-S6G has one, but costs the same as Komodo so generally, unless fully invested in the Z-cam ecosystem and trying to match with their other cameras, the Komodo is probably a better buy. One thing that will help A LOT if you're trying to run and gun with Z Cam is to get the Clutch handle from RVLVR. It adds some programmable dials/buttons so you can have ISO on the thumb dial and aperture on the front dial, with the front button programmed for run/stop. When I'm using it, I don't miss touch screen controls at all. At $350 it isn't cheap, but I love mine.
I am glad you guys touched on the third-party accessories topic cause I once suggested on the Facebook page that Z-cam should start making accessories for their cameras. Some people commented that it wasn't necessary cause there were already other companies making those accessories. I would like to see a modular system that doesn't require a lot of cables. Something like the RED DSMC, but more affordable.
The Z-Cam app is incredible, I wish they would come out with a monitor that just ran that, and if they could somehow make it a single cable solution like it is with a phone or tablet that’d be amazing, I’m not a professional so I do just use my phone with my E2-M4, and it is so so simple to change settings!
Exactly the video I've been looking for! Honest no BS practical discussion on both cameras as tools rather than spec sheet comparisons. Totally agree with the black magic comments too. Owned 2 bmpcc4k and they just keep dying on me when shooting in tough conditions! The exposed fans is suicide
The wireless app (ipad/phone) allows you to change camera options easily on the ZCam and a LANC port allows you to use grips and other items that can control the camera.
Their both great cameras. just another tool for the job each camera has its own quirks but that is what makes it fun each one is different neither one is better then the other IMO different cameras for different needs. GREAT VID.
Nice video guys... Reminds me of about 12 years ago working with the RED One. All the same stuff being said about the ZCam was said about the RED back then. Immature RAW needing it's own processor, not much support, few accessories, etc. Now look. Where will ZCam be in 12 years time. :)
Some of these comments crack me tf up lol like I bet the don't even have either one of these cameras ...love the video bros . I want a RED but the Zcam is so dope , tired of everyone always saying the BMPCC4K/6K is the best budget cinema camera love my e2-M4 filming my first feature film with it !
Blackmagic design has a livestream announcement coming up this Wednesday Feb 17. They are announcing updates about a new atem mini and cameras... Any ideas? A full frame Blackmagic pocket 6K in a new “cube” form would blow minds!
@@JerichoPatrick Closer to your subject. there both camera angle are really close in comparation to your boom. Dead cat is not needed if there is no wind in the room. If there is no lav in that interview, it should sound like if you where in a bathroom.
Good fun laidback review. Refreshing. ...Cam, is that the new Tilta advanced side handle by any chance? I just got mine for my zcam e2s6 and really like the handle.
Both these cameras will be outdated next year, so just think about your ROI. If you have high paying clients and gigs, go RED. If you are an entry level filmmaker, save your money.
@@JerichoPatrick ok nice can you do more adjustments on it and does it look cleaner (compression wise) ? can you use deviance 17 or do. you have to use studio? ps I am a Mac user
West sideeeeee

Thanks for the tip and we did mention global shutter but I didn't know about the zcams option for Global so thanks again!

Thanks for the feed back! Yeah it all comes down to how it functions in practice!

Very excited for that day!
@@JerichoPatrick Remember that z raw works in premiere, scratch and a few other software. But i do hope that davinci will support in the future.
Yeah premier is convenient but I’ve just been having too many issues with the software during export
This really has me thinking of leaving BMD.

Yeah the colors and codecs from BM are great! So a new form factor could be a GAME CHANGER for sure
Im waiting for an 8k from them, Canon put the level very high with the eos R6
oh man... face palm for that boom placement at 4:43.
How so?

what side handle is that on the Z Cam? the Wooden brand?
‘Not that big of a Dill”
I weirdly prefer the zcam, don’t prefer ettr though

I can take a dump faster that start shooting with the Komodo😎
lol
I wonder in hush, and extreme situations, how both cameras adapt.
Like extreme cold and heat? Or like drasticly different lighting?
@@JerichoPatrick both.
C70 all the way
A very good option for a lot of people!
...sooo.. whens the practical real world comparison? lol
Hahaha what do you meeaaan its right here lolol
yes that part lol bruh I love misinformation
At least as he zcam has better made motherboard
ppl need just go shoot
what do you guys think is better braw or prores raw ?
Definitely braw! I prefer the workflow and look

I’d Google that stuff I’m just going off feel tbh. I know I can edit braw in resolve I don’t think you need the studio version
Camera snobs 😂

Very bias review for a couple of guys who haven't yet shot a feature film 🤫
