A Feel Good Friday surprise for a 7-year-old who jumped into action as his grandma suffered a stroke

EastIdahoNews.com and Ashley in Idaho Falls and Pocatello are partnering to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
We recently received an email about a young boy living in Idaho Falls who jumped into action when his grandmother needed help. It said:
My 7-year-old grandson Kylar and his younger siblings were being watched by their 74-year-old grandmother when grandma became dizzy. She told Kylar she needed to sit down and needed help finding the chair. She asked Kylar to go get the neighbor because she didn’t feel good. Kylar ran to the neighbors for help. Due to his speediness, Kylar got help and they called his mother who rushed home from work. The neighbors checked the grandmother's blood pressure which was very high along with tingling in her left arm. The mom took grandma to EIRMC where we learned she had a mild stroke.
We decided to honor Kylar for what he did and surprise him for Feel Good Friday! Watch in the video player above.

If someone might be having a stroke Time Is Brain. Remember the FAST test and CALL 911. Face weakness, Arm weakness, Speech problems, Time to call 911. Excellent job by the young man. As a nurse, I've seen too many people who drive their family member, who is having a stroke, to the hospital. Don't be afraid to call 911. The paramedics won't be mad at you if it turns out not to be a stroke.
Glad someone finally said this, I was thinking the same thing, every second counts They should teach him to call 911 she’s lucky not to have permanent life altering damage

What a weird thing to say. He did EXACTLY what he was told to do, and she survived. His efforts weren't for nothing.
@@monicascott2354 As I said, he was very good, and yes, everything turned out well. But I have known of people - my mother's best friend, for example - who called a friend or neighbor in a medical emergency, rather than 911. They did not survive. Unless someone lives in a very rural area, calling 911 should come first, then bring in a friend or neighbor.
