The best tutorial on this addon yet. Clear, concise, to the point. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Excellent overview Farrukh. Direct and to the point. Thank you.
Thank you very much!!!
Your turorials are so precisely rxplsinee I love it! And rhis layers system is something I aill definitely try! Very helpful. It's similar to BPainter addon but free and looks simpler!
Thank you very much! Yes, it is close to Bpainter addon. I have used long time ago but it was not getting updates and fixes. I found this to be more stable with better development support.
Nice tutorial!
bruh i love you. this is so awesome!
Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for a very useful lesson!
Thank you very much!
Damn dude! U made my life with that video! Great work and thank you very much!
Thank you very much!
Very well explained. Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you kind sir for such a great tool and providing it for free!
Thank you! Happy to share!
have you see the "inpaint" thing nvidia came up with for texture painting - it bridges the gap between two strokes of different textures.
Or, I'm not sure if it's their tool, but it's up on their "nvidia developer" channel.
Diffusion Texture Painting is what they call it.
paints on the same layer but then merges using inpainting with surrounding textures.
I'd put the URL but sometimes my posts with URLs don't stay.
You could use open source in-painting models to do the same.
Very good tutorial. I will give this addon a try. Thank you very much!
Thank you!!!
Hello Farrukh, this is a very interesting, incredibly helpful addon. Thank youfor the Tutorial and for the time you sacrificed for it. Wish you a peaceful, contemplative Christmas. Greetings from Germany.
Thank you very much! Best wishes for you as well!

Thank you!
Game Changer.
Yes, Thank you!
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU Farrukh !
Thank you very much!
this is cool idea, but when i added 3 layers and one with noise normals - blender become laggy as hell. It is better to use quixel for normal painting and substance painter for other texturing things. I think, this addon suites nice when u paint by hand only diffuse layers.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, it is true there is slow performance issue when working with more layers or complex materials. Maybe future updates can improve but for now everything is inside blender which is the main point otherwise dedicated apps are always there which involves exporting importing steps.
Nice tutorial. Will there be a tutorial that covers PBR painting using ucupaint?
Thank you! I will try.
It is already done here in this video.
I create weapons with handpainted textures. This allows full control of the texture without having to redo everything all over again. When i started blender. I was shocked to find out it doesnt have layers along with a mask just like in Ps. I have a question. Is there any plug in that makes the brush strokes fade away?
Thank you for your comment. For the brush strokes, you can try falloff settings to fade the stroke effect. It might work. Other way is using pen pressure with a tablet if available to create that natural fading effect. or use the eraser tool to manually brush remove the strokes after painting with different strength or alpha.
Okay, but what if I have 2 materials with a huge network of nodes in the shader editor, I assigned the object one material as the main and want to draw with another material, how is this possible?
Hi, you can group of all your nodes and add that to another material. Create two materials in ucupaint. Use a mask on one material. Paint to hide or show the other material. Other way is to try with a mix shader node connect two materials and paint mask. However, performance will be slow if node setup is complex.
5:13 .....color wheel doesn't pop up for me there...
Hi, Switch to the texture paint mode first. In the tools panels, see the color picker menu is open (small arrow pointing down) then color wheel will be in it.
How do i export the final object with the textures?
bake to new texture
Once textures are baked and saved to file. You can export your object just like any object in blender. From the file export menu in .fbx .obj formats. Better to keep the textures and model in same location. This add-on will export textures.
Hey man I have I accidentally turned on some option where I can only paint on the things that I already painted on, and can't paint anywhere else, like if I have an orange stroke in a layer, and then try to paint somewhere with black, it doesnt paint, it only paints above the orange stroke I made. Do you know how can I turn it off?
Hi, Try to see if any mask is on. Disable all layers and one by one enable them to see which layer is causing issue. Also see if eraser button is off. It can also disable painting. Create a new material and compare the settings with your material layers. Hopefully you can fix it.
@@Farrukh3D Hey thanks for the reply, I don't have any masks on any of my layers, and when I create a new layer it still doesn't paint because there isn't any prestroke to paint on, it just paints on already painted parts if there is any on the layer. This issue is on all the layers, eraser is indeed off, and eraser mode can still erase stuff, I created a new material on a different object and it had the same issue, but when I tried ucupaint on a completely different file ucupaint works normally, I don't know what is going on.
@@bbbbb5542 You can import your model with the material in your new blender file. Maybe it will fix the issue. Most likely some setting is causing this. I will try to look into. Also check if you have the latest version through the addon panel.
@@Farrukh3D Ok I FINALLY found it. It worked when I appended the material so I figured It had to be a blender setting. It seems I accidentally turned off "affect alpha" under brush dropdown somehow. That was actually a feature I was looking for a long time in ucupaint but it was already in default blender lol, thanks for the help!
MAC blender ok??
does it have custom brushes?
Hi, No custom brushes come with the addon. You can load your own brushes for painting through the texture panel.
there appears an error to me when trying to bake
Hi, Try to test with latest blender version 4.0 Check if the addon is latest version also. Save the file before baking any maps. You can share what type of error is showing.
Man you are the best thank you😊
Thank you very much!
