The DJI Avata is a popular drone with recreational flyers but the Avata has turned out to be a great tool for officer safety. Good lighting is critical to safely navigate in an indoor environment so I have developed a lighting kit that performs better than other solutions on the market.
This design addresses some shortcomings of other popular lighting solutions. Other designs fail to provide downward lighting which is critical for the the drone's stability. These lights are brighter, last longer and provide solid downward looking lighting as well as forward lighting. They are easy to install and will not negatively impact the drone's flight characteristics. - Наука
Very nice!! I hope you plan on doing one for the new Avata 2
I am working on it. Please subscribe to be notified when they are released. Thanks!
I purchased this light system and can say that it lives up to every claim made on this video. It is rugged well made, it's attaches securely and can be installed in seconds, it does not affect the flight characteristics of the airplane, quite the contrary it seems to make it more stable. When flying at night it provides more than ample illumination. It's easy to store and carry in a flight case. I guess I'm repeating the information presented in the video, and the reason is that, at least in my experience, many times the claims made about a product are exaggerated. This is certainly no the case with this item. Thank you Bill, from a former LEO, for this outstanding light solution for the Avata.
Thank you for taking the time to write this thoughtful review. I am glad you are happy with the light kit and I really appreciate the feedback!
That is by far the best system I’ve seen so far. I operate a drone in support of my security department which also assist the local sheriffs office and fire department. All equipment is owned by myself and utilized for the agencies mentioned above. I am waiting to take delivery on my new avata which I am scheduled to demonstrate next month. I will be purchasing you lighting system which I believe will be a game changer. Nice work.
Fantastic product. Thank you.
Great design!
Thank you I appreciate it!
Great video. Thank you sir!
Thank you for watching!
Not in law enforcement, but was looking to upgrade my indoor flying experience. Thanks for the video just ordered a set.
Thank you for the order. I hope you are happy with the light set.
Wow love it!! I’m hoping they will produce a night vision attachment or mod
These are great! Do you have plans to update the design for the Avata 2?
Hi Bill. Cool! Based on what I can see in this video, I think this isn't a bad iteration. I do have a couple thoughts though that I hope you find helpful: if you were to angle the lights out (toe out), you might be able to improve the light spread. The corners are pretty dark, depending on the surroundings. Small reflectors glued or screwed into the light housing would help increase the spread more, or possibly a very light sanding of the lights' lenses may help diffuse them enough.
Great suggestions, thank you for the feedback.
this is awesome! amazing work as I also do some 3d printing, Do they ever go on sale?
I priced them to make them affordable but my costs are fixed. I hope you find this to be a good value.
Great product. Special Deputy here from Montana. We used the Avata last night and I ducked taped a small LED light on my Avata last night and was able to locate suspect. But I want something more professional. Do you offer Police/Military discount? Great product!
Have you tried making a mounting system that is front and back, instead of side to side. I’m worried about the side mounts limiting areas I can fly through due to added width.
Yes, During my testing that design was eliminated because it interfered with the turtle mode function which allows the drone to flip over if it lands on its back. I appreciate the concern about the width but it adds on about 3 inches to the overall width. This is insignificant in most real operating environments.
So how do i work with a tactical team to fly the drones?
Website is down ?
How did you make those obstacle that you were flying through? Looked like LED hula hoops or something.
Yes, the obstacles are made of opaque white PEX tubing found in the plumbing dept at Home Depot or Lowes. Connectors and stands are 1/2 inch PVC plumbing joints. The lighting is LED light strips found on Amazon or eBay. Powered by a Lipo battery and a small voltage regulator to control the brightness.
The antennas are located on the side legs where your lights are mounted on. This might affect range.
Tests have not detected any significant decrease in range.
Are any of the lights compatible with the Avata 2? Thanks !
These lights will not fit the Avata 2 but I am working on a new design that will fit the Avata 2. Please subscribe to be notified when I release the update. Thank you!
Sucks the ban pretty much killed that idea for now. Hopefully it will end. Keep in mind we all have phones made in the same country lol
There is no ban, just some proposed legislation that is unlikely to succeed in banning these drones.
Still patiently waiting for the 2.0 version…
The lights for Avata 2 will be available beginning August 15th. Video to follow. Thanks !

Hello Sir, I am a Police Captain and I use DJI FPV in any applicable case . Any Ideas to attach these lights to my Drone? Thank you
Yes! This is my specialty. I have designed a mounting system to attach the Foxfury D3060 lights to the Avata. Its been newly redesigned using Nylon Carbon Fiber material for increased durability. titletowndrones.com/tactical-light-kit-for-dji-avata/
@@BillBongleThat is great but this mount is for the AVATA. I Have the DJI FPV. The previous FPV DJI's model. Would you suggest anything to attach the lights there? I do have the propellers guard if that means something to you
Cannot seem to order
I fixed a broken link. It should work now. tinyurl.com/yc6wd32c
can they fit the Avata 2??
No but I will be releasing a version that will later this summer.
Ok wonderful thanks much sir
@@BillBongle Ok thanks much sir !! I’ll be sure to link one up
Conducts indoor searches but the drone is so loud
How exactly is this good for swat when it's so damn noisy?
They don’t use this when being sneaky. This is used when time allows and there is no urgency. Often times it’s for a slow clear when they just want to see if anybody is even inside before they go in themselves. It’s wonderful for helping the guys know the layout before entering.
Stealth mode isn't necessary, most of these situations involve swat calls where there is lots of commotion and activity anyway. SWAT robots aren't exactly quiet either.
Sure.. Why don't you blow around the evidence.
I’m really sorry but the Avanta is not tactical AT ALL! This sound that this drone gives off is INSANELY loud. Not just the volume but the highest pitch and weirdest sounding drone ever. It’s by far useless for tactical use because of this issue. If they were able to make the drone as quiet as a mini 3 or Air 2 or 3 than they have a winner.
I think that thousands of law enforcement agencies that are using them for this purpose might disagree with you. You are right though, its not a quiet drone but the point is not to be stealthy, its to provide situational awareness. None of these drones are designed or meant to sneak up on people.
How to Makes a drone easier to shoot down, stick a light on it. BTW that is NOT the best light by far, ask Daniel.
firehouse lights are better
Have you compared them? Many of my customers have and have chosen this lighting solution over the Firehouse design.
