Do you need an app or a setting on the iPhone? I plug my joby mic into my iPhone but I think I’m still recording with the iPhone mic.
I like the look of this, however it seems aimed at vloggers to capture their voice and block out ambient sound. What about if i was filming a car for example and wanted to capture the car's sound on a fly-by and no voice? It seems it would still be an upgrade but should i buy another brand for what im looking for? Thanks

I just got this microphone. I didn't gain anything from this compared to the built in mic on my phone. You lose sound when you get more than 18 inches away, and it catches some glitch electronic type noise when recording. I am sending it back.
I’m looking to create a walking tour RUclips channel and was wondering how good the sound quality from a distance say if I’m 6 to 8 ft away and walking whilst being filmed?
Is it possible to connect these joby microphones to pc without the normal audio cable? Like Bluetooth or USB? I use the Wavo Pro and want to use it on a Lumix S5M2 as webcam but Webex only finds the video signal, not the connected microphone.
So just to confirm the cord side with 3 black lines goes into the phone?
How do you add the microphone to the Red holder. It seems too small?
