Hey Friends, this week im reviewing the Joby WAVO Air wireless microphone kit. This wireless lav kit is part of Joby's new range of microphones for creators but i doubt they will send me any more after this review (grimace emoji)
I really had high hopes for the Joby WAVO Air, thinking it could become the go to wireless mic system for creators but watch the video to see why its hard to recommend.

Especially that range is pathetic. Why would anyone pick Joby over Rode?

Found total success with the MOVO ($199) WMX DUO lav with the iPhone Lightning receiver.
Three walls between me and the receiver with no drop outs. Great sound and enough battery to last the entire day with a charge station storage container.
Also has LED metering on each transmitter which some MOVO models don’t have. iPhone receiver also has 3.5 plug for monitoring with headphones or whatever.
Stoked!!
I would use in a pinch but not reliable at all for professional applications and the TRRS doesn’t work well with adaptor for phones.
It’s a tinker toy.

200 pound is still quite a low end price when you compare to true professional grade wireless audio systems such as Sennheiser... but yeah that's crummy that the shoe mount doesn't have a screw clamp !
The range test was not necessary in considering it a con because I never see anyone record that far away. Good stuff though!
I got them yesterday and Im returning them today, the look of the mic clipped on my clothe is horrible, it kills my look. (kind of important to a lot of content creator) and if you try to use the lavalier the sounds is very loud, cracking and cheap, very bad quality. The only way to get a decent sound with this mic is if you you grab it on your hands or clipped on your clothes chest area. IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. Oh btw all the outside noises not blocked at all, not even a little, it jist make your voice sound louder....
The example with the cold shoe is a backfire to the reviewer...Really?
