I appreciate the encouragement. They take a LOT of time and effort to produce. This last year I have also been readying a RANS S-12 for flight. Last night we finally got the motor started after re-doing the fuel lines, the oil lines, the water lines and all the electrical in addition to adding 2 more EGTs and updating all 4 of them. There is more but I thought you might like to know what I have been doing instead of making movies lately.
Hey Brian, Have you ever thought of editing all your flying videos into one long video and selling it? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Great flight and music again.

I am gratified you like my movies and appreciate the High Five. I put a huge amount of time into creating them but the economic return is just not there...
I used to sell movies on VHS. Then I transitioned to DVD. Then I transitioned to BluRay. About the time of BluRay, some Bay Area dorks started RUclips and basically cratered the sales of movies on tape or disc because movies on RUclips are FREE. Once movies of any quality level were available free, nobody wanted to spend money on them. I tried a couple of other "on-line pay movie" schemes but they were all a bust. That's when I threw in the towel. I started my own RUclips channel and transferred my whole catalog to it.
Making these movies is basically for me an "art project". I make these movies because I enjoy the process and like to show people these things. My day job has been in the advertising business making radio and TV commercials and buying airtime.
Keep watching for my next POV. I am recording some music for it now. After that I will start editing in earnest.

Really enjoy your videos! I have a lot in common with you, first, I live in Kansas....second, I am a pilot, I owned 2 quicksilvers back in the early 80"s, currently own a Kolb Firestar...and third, I play guitar. I got my first guitar when I was 11, I am 62 now. Keep the great videos coming!
Nice to hear from you, Danny! Do you ever fly to Beaumont? This summer I have tried to get there on Saturday mornings and have probably made it 4 times - most recently last Saturday. It is a great place to go out in The Flint Hills.

Hi, no I have never been to Beaumont, in fact I have never flown over the flint hills except on commercial flights. I have always wanted to fly out there like you do in your videos. I guess I will have to add that to my bucket list. Keep making the great videos when you can, I love watching them, and need to outfit my Kolb with some camera equipment, not sure where to start with that, there are so many options. FLY SAFE!
Everything about this video is amazing. I liked the end tune, has a 90's modern rock feel to it. Have you considered making a patreon, subscribestar, or Dlive account so people can support your videos?

Glad to see you posted a new video.I mean because of watching your awesome videos, I bought a quicksilver mx!! It is a 2 axis. It needs new canvas but that is ok. I bought it cheap. I just wish I had some big fields like you have there.I might still fly it this year, but life is getting in the way.
That's great to hear. I love this sport and love flying. I think Ultralight Flying is the best because it is so ORGANIC.
Upon further review I want to encourage you in your desire to fly but caution you that if you haven't learned to fly yet, get some training before going up. I have been told that I make flying low in my ultralight look easy. I'm not saying it is hard but I have been doing it for about 30 years and didn't start by doing stunts...
If you already know how to fly, just remember the ultralight will get airborne way before you expect it to and be ready.
Brian FitzGerald yea. U do make it look easy. Love all your videos. I plan on getting some help. I feel confident in myself as a pilot and that is the reason I bought a plain in the first place. It is pretty hard to find training close to me as everyone wants to teach either experimental or bigger. I haven't found anyone with a 2 seat quicksilver or similar.

Thanks, DC! I use Logic Pro X on a Mac Pro. I have 3 x 24" 4K monitors to stare at. I play a Custom Gibson SG and a Taylor acoustic. I have an Ibanez Bass.

Thanks, Copper! I can only thank The Lord Jesus because before I became a Christian I coughed up a lot of swearing. After seeing in The Bible that we are not to speak that way, I put an end to it. I think most guys cuss because they think it is manly but really it is a crutch for not learning more vocabulary (notwithstanding its offense to God).

My God I love this stuff. This is just the reason why I got into ultralight flying back in the mid 90's. Down in the weeds or higher but usually below 1000 ft. Nothing like it. Keep doing it just like you do. love the music too.
I'm glad you liked the music. I played the guitars and also the bass on the last cut.
You are the rarity. It seems like the most opinionated guys on RUclips think they have to tell me over and over "music bad - engine noise good" (like I really care what they think).
Anybody that prefers the sound of a two stroke motor to ANY music (rap is not music) is living in a desolate mindscape I wish not to inhabit.
yes tons of parts out there for 503 still. you can use the snowmobl.. motor parts. tons of those left. newer one has different cases to use gear box. tons on ebay. jbird. parts motors. easy to rebuild too. mine had 800 hours on it and still ran good. just 50 to 1 oil ratio. and cheap boat oil too. just fogg crank when she sits awhile. best to stock up on old parts motors. most snomoblies didnt get used much. i think leaf still has new pistions and rings still. they will run for ever. beat to take to oil box off and pre mix it. will last longer and safer. oil pumps fail. just plug the hole. im a former rotax mech... enjoy!!! 😊👍🇺🇸
Yes. It was a sad day when Rotax bowed to the Green Monster and stopped producing the best 2 stroke motor of that size ever produced.

Brian you trust that two stroke to pull you through those gaps and rises out of the terrain. Nice video.
Thanks. Please note: I don't fly like this all the time. I charted this flight out carefully before shooting it. Also, I have great trust in both the Rotax 503DCDI and in Rotax Rick of Florida, who has rebuilt it twice for me.

Good question. Early on when I started flying the MXL out for hours at a time I noticed some time into the flight discomfort in trying to hold my knees up. The plane does not really have adjustment for the distance from the seat to the rudder pedals. Also, there is no cockpit to lay my knees on. Then one day I noticed another pilot who flies an AirBike used a strap to hold his legs. I copied him and call it "The Fiebich Strap" which is his name.

I watch your vids many times over. Not only very well done, but you're an excellent musician to boot! Your views should be in the tens of thousands! People don't realize what they are missing. A positive vibe combined with talent. I'm looking to purchase my very first plane. Hope to meet you someday.
