That's what people often don't get , they aren't Just our dogs. They are our family and companions and the bond between human and pet can be so strong :) Got my dog out of a family divorce , he may not be a husky ( dalmatian-sheppard mix ) but he's quite often a fierce rascal to dogs and humans alike. He has a bad history and anxiety - anger issues ( and he's my first dog ) . Just like you I took the dog in and Just promised him and myself to figure it out and the most important thing was giving him a safe place. 3.5 years later he still got plenty issues but I know how to handle him well , got him trained as far as I could and got myself trained with it and he's my best bud in the world now. Can't imagine ever giving him up or failing him in his lifetime. He brings me so much joy , and me living alone now having a buddy to come home to means the world to me. I've hardly ever felt lonely despite living alone. I got gaming friends and my family and 1 really good friend I see often Just nobody in my house itself and I like it that way. Having a dog now has made me realize I'm 100% a dog person despite having grown up with cats as a kid , still loving cats Just loving dogs so much more. The constant interaction possibilities and their drive for your attention really fills my heart with joy. Maybe one day I will own a husky , I've always loved the drama tantrums they crack me up every single time and never fuel me with annoyance. Right now this dog needs my love and I wouldn't own another he won't be able to handle it and my apartment is to small for that. One day I hope I can move to a house on ground floor level and have a garden as well , it will be better for my current dog as well. And that's another thing for a husky even after my bud right now , it would be to small for a husky in here and it would be unfair for his / her stress levels. Walks are no problem I'm on disability for my Autism so I got plenty of time , same reason I could take over my current buddy otherwise that would not be possible living alone.
